Berserk God of War

Chapter 288: Chapter 288: The Demonized Demon Dragon

Time trickled away.

It was unclear how much time had passed when Sikong Jing moved on to the second pillar to comprehend and learn.

Days passed—one, two, three—and in the blink of an eye, Sikong Jing had been in the Martial Dragon Palace for ten days. When hungry, he would take out the dry food from the Golden Soul Palace to eat; when sleepy, he just lay down on the ground to sleep.

Without realizing, he had already sensed more than twenty pillars, and he had just come before the pillar of the woman in black.

Ten days had passed, and the black-dressed woman was still there, never having left.

She sat cross-legged, immobile, staring intently at the pillar.

Sikong Jing still did not disturb her; instead, he sat on the other side and observed the same pillar.

The black-dressed woman merely glanced at him briefly and then ignored him, continuing with her own activities.

”Eh, this is not a demon dragon!” Sikong Jing suddenly exclaimed in surprise.

The pillar that the woman in black had been staring at all this time revealed something surprising to Sikong Jing after a brief sensing. The engravings on the pillar looked like a dragon but were not a real demon dragon.

The illusion before his eyes was of a knight battling atop a black demon beast, wielding a Big Long Saber.

The black demon beast emitted a dense aura, its body covered in raised black scales and six pairs of wings sharp like hooks, its elongated body stretching out, capped with a dragon-like head.

It appeared tremendously terrifying, with an aura of blood devouring emitting from it.

As Sikong Jing marveled, a cold female voice rang out, ”Ridiculous, who doesn’t know that the Martial Dragon Palace has eighty-one Dragon Pillars and nine Beast Pillars? If this is not a demon dragon, then what could it possibly be?”

The speaker was naturally the black-dressed woman, whose face was unfriendly and her eyes fiery.

Sikong Jing was taken aback, not expecting the black-dressed woman would join the conversation. He responded with a chuckle, ”Well, it can be considered a demon dragon.”

In his mind, however, he pondered the woman’s words. There were indeed nine beast pillars in the Martial Dragon Palace; he would check them out first.

In ten days, although Sikong Jing had made significant gains, he had not been able to create a Beast Skill of his own. Perhaps within the nine beast pillars, there might be what he was searching for—the same type as the inner core he obtained from Wang Xiang and Wang Wei.

If he could find a match for the inner core among the beast pillars, he could create a new Beast Skill through comparison.

Earning points was currently the most important thing for Sikong Jing.

But the black-dressed woman did not know what Sikong Jing was thinking. Annoyed, she snapped, ”What do you mean? What’s with ’can be considered a demon dragon’? This pillar clearly depicts the Black Refining Dark Hook Dragon.”

Sikong Jing was taken aback again. He did not expect such a temper from the black-dressed woman. He frowned slightly and then decided to ignore her.

He has always believed in respecting others as much as they respect him.

Whether it was Xu He or Yisuo, Sikong Jing always treated them kindly, addressing them as senior brothers... But as for someone with such rudeness, like the woman in black, it did not matter who she was to Sikong Jing.

So he focused his attention on the pillar and muttered to himself, ”Perhaps this pillar will bring me great gains.”

Although Sikong Jing’s voice was soft, they were the only two in the Martial Dragon Palace, and the black-dressed woman heard every word clearly. She sneered coldly again, ”You can’t even tell dragons from beasts, yet you expect to gain something. Utterly laughable.”

”Ever since you came in, you’ve been observing pillar after pillar, biting off more than you can chew. What gains can you have?”

Having said that, the black-dressed woman withdrew her gaze and focused back on the pillar, utterly disregarding Sikong Jing.

Meanwhile, anger burned within her. As the Chief Inner Palace Student of Dark Dragon Mountain, she had been examining the Black Refining Dark Hook Dragon for a full two years but still couldn’t find the right method to truly master it.

After all, her Cultivation Technique was the peerless method created by a rider of the Black Refining Dark Hook Dragon himself.

But why can’t I have any insights?

”I don’t believe it, I must comprehend the true core power of the Black Refining Dark Hook Dragon to help me break through,”

A thousand years ago, the Cultivation Technique created by the Black Refining Dark Hook Dragon Rider was known as the ”Black Refining Divine Skill,” and it had always been placed at the very center of the Dark Dragon Mountain courtyard, treasured as a rare jewel.

But for a thousand years, no one has truly succeeded in cultivating it.

When she became an Inner Palace Student, even the head of Dark Dragon Mountain and Palace Master Shen had warned her not to cultivate the ”Black Refining Divine Skill”. It was impossible to succeed, there were far too many examples of failure already.

Yet she stubbornly refused to believe it, insisting on her own path, but by the time she reached the Xuantian Third Realm, she could progress no further.

Stuck in the Xuantian Third Realm, it had already been a full year.

If this continued, her position as the Chief Inner Palace Student of Dark Mountain Dragon would be at risk.

At this time, a man emerged, claiming that the Black Refining Dark Hook Dragon was not a Demon Dragon, naturally infuriating her, and while she couldn’t gain anything herself, he asserted that he would have a great harvest—wasn’t that a joke?

On this side, Sikong Jing had no idea of the situation with the woman in the black dress, nor did he care about what she was saying.

His mind was already submerged in the illusion of the pillar, muttering to himself, ”Black Refining Dark Hook Dragon, I wonder who came up with such a name, when it is clearly a Thunder Winged Dragon Snake.”

Indeed, the Demon Dragon on the pillar was still the Thunder Winged Dragon Snake, but it was a Thunder Winged Dragon Snake that had become demonized.

So Sikong Jing said it was not a Demon Dragon, but it could also be considered a Demon Dragon.

He had once nearly become demonized himself due to Su Yuexi’s affair, almost turning into a Blood Devouring Demon Beast despite being the Master of Ten Thousand Beasts, and once demonized, he could no longer be called the Master of Ten Thousand Beasts but only a Demon Beast.

The so-called Black Refining Dark Hook Dragon followed the same principle; it had become a Demon Beast, not a Demon Dragon anymore.

Sikong Jing, who had experienced demonization, understood this very clearly.

Once transformed into a Demon Beast, the meridians and everything else in the body would undergo mutations and become extremely bloodthirsty and terrifying.

Of course, the Master of Ten Thousand Beast turning demonized would become a Blood Devouring Demon Beast, while other demon beasts, if demonized, would only be considered ordinary Demon Beasts. They might also be bloodthirsty but not as terrifyingly powerful...

It was mentioned in the Ten Thousand Beasts Sky Prison by the Ten Thousand Beasts that some Demon Beasts would regain a certain amount of reasoning.

The great harvest that Sikong Jing spoke of was exactly that: they were all beings that had been demonized, and since he was the Master of Ten Thousand Beasts, perhaps he could comprehend something different from the Black Refining Dark Hook Dragon.

Whir!

Indeed, just as Sikong Jing was attentively contemplating, the illusion suddenly changed.

The knight on its back disappeared, and a Thunder Winged Dragon Snake burst forth, a terrifying Demon Dragon surpassing the Xuantian Realm, roaming the world. Suddenly, it cried out in pain, a heartbreaking and lungs-splitting wail.

The illusion abruptly shifted as it entered a ravine, and what followed was a sight of dragon corpses everywhere.

Sikong Jing too saw from the illusion that the ground was covered in the bodies of Thunder Winged Dragon Snakes.

”Ao...”

Afterward, this Thunder Winged Dragon Snake started to change, its originally purple scales turning black, and its lightning-shaped wings transforming into terrifying, hook-like shapes, its meridians undergoing explosive mutations.

Sikong Jing shook all over, intently observing the transformations of its meridians.

And then he began to learn and remember... This was the great harvest he had spoken of. He intended to practice the circulation of the demonic power of a Demon Beast. The meridians within his body also gradually changed along with the transformations of the Thunder Winged Dragon Snake after it became demonized.

The Thunder Winged Dragon Snake then fully became a demon, turned into the so-called Black Refining Dark Hook Dragon, and left the ravine to hunt its enemies.
