258: Chapter 258 Level 1 Apprentice, You’re Done 258: Chapter 258 Level 1 Apprentice, You’re Done Several breaths later, Wen Hu was utterly dumbfounded.

His reaction was hardly better than Yu Yan’s had been moments ago; his hand trembled so much that he almost threw the Green Jade Stone Plate away.

Then he bellowed, “Are you joking?

Did that apprentice engrave this?”

“Absolutely true; I saw it with my own eyes, and the reason Master Tan accepted Sikong Jing is because…”

Yu Yan quickly recounted what Sikong Jing had just mentioned about the Black Vortex Fist.

At this, Wen Hu was so shocked that he was rendered speechless for a good while before he yelled loudly, “Quick, come with me to see Vice Palace Master Qin.”

The two of them dashed out of the Task Hall like madmen, heading toward Qin Heng’s location.

…

At the entrance of the Engraving Martial Hall, Su Yuexi asked in confusion, “Brother Jing, why has Senior Sister Yu been gone for so long and still not returned?”

An hour had passed, and Yu Yan was nowhere to be seen.

Sikong Jing furrowed his brows, wondering if the Long Night Saint Dragon Palace also harbored the same strong prejudice against the Spirit Martial Root, like the Xingluo Palace, thus finding reasons to trouble him even after seeing the Beast Skill Black Vortex Fist.

Suddenly, footsteps sounded from afar.

It wasn’t Yu Yan returning, but rather, from the Apprentice School Region directly in front of the Engraving Martial Hall’s main door, came several people, led by a muscular young man who looked only seventeen or eighteen years old.

The others around him appeared to be currying favor with him.

“Second Young Master Zheng, look, there’s a beauty, never seen before.”

Suddenly, one of them shouted as they spotted Su Yuexi.

Instantly, including the muscular man, everyone’s eyes turned toward Su Yuexi, their gaze sharpening.

Especially the muscular man, whose face was gradually turning red.

Meanwhile, Su Yuexi stepped back slightly, clearly repulsed by such attention.

Sikong Jing stepped forward to stand in front of her, glancing coldly at the muscular man and his companions with a frown.

Blocked by Sikong Jing, the group showed expressions of disappointment.

Just then, the muscular man took two quick steps to close the distance to Sikong Jing and then demanded in a domineering tone, “Where are you guys from?

How come I’ve never seen you before?”

Sikong Jing frowned and replied, “Is it any of your concern?”

If it had been a normal interaction, he would surely have responded politely, but these people clearly had dubious intentions toward Yue Xi’s beauty.

Was Sikong Jing going to show them any courtesy?

In an instant, the muscular man hesitated, as the aura of the man before him felt quite imposing.

“Second Young Master Zheng, no need to ask further.

Look, his token only shows a Level 1 Baby Dragon; he’s just a new apprentice,” one of the sycophants suddenly pointed out, indicating the token hanging at Sikong Jing’s waist.

The muscular man’s demeanor changed at once, and he said coldly, “So you’re a new apprentice.

Then get lost, don’t block my view of the beauty.”

Upon hearing this, a murderous intent began to rise in Sikong Jing.

“Second Young Master Zheng asked you to scram; did you not hear him?” The sycophant shouted coldly and then extended his hand to push Sikong Jing away.

Bang!

Sikong Jing instantly kicked out, and the sycophant’s eyes widened as he was sent flying and smashed into the wall across from them.

He tried to stand but couldn’t get up.

This scene made the muscular man and his sycophants pause in shock; then they shouted angrily, “You’re new here, and you dare to hit my man.”

“I dare to hit you too…”

Sikong Jing, too lazy for words, simply slapped out, and with a crisp smack, the muscular man’s body, easily weighing over two hundred pounds, soared into the air before crashing down violently, raising dust all around!

“Second Young Master Zheng…”

The few sycophants were left dumbfounded, hurriedly retreating to Second Young Master Zheng’s side.

Subsequently, five distinct finger marks had risen on his face, each prominently swollen.

“Damn it hurts, what are you guys standing around for?

Get over here and help me!” Second Young Master Zheng screamed incessantly.

Several toadies, upon hearing this, glared at Sikong Jing and drew their weapons, shouting, “Attack!”

All of them were at the Innate Martial Acupoint Realm, and their momentum as they pounced was immense.

Yet Sikong Jing seemed completely unfazed, easily swatting them away.

Bang bang bang… The men were instantly sent flying, all landing miserably on the ground.

Sikong Jing then stepped forward and pinned Second Young Master Zheng down with his foot before kicking him away, “Scram!”

Immediately, Second Young Master Zheng was sent flying high and smashed harshly against the wall across them.

Rolling on the ground, he screamed continuously.

At this point, numerous people from the Apprentice School Region came running, gaping at Sikong Jing and whispering among themselves.

But Sikong Jing ignored them, returning to Su Yuexi’s side and stood upright.

After a while, several toadies helped Second Young Master Zheng up, who furiously glared at Sikong Jing and roared, “You’re new here, and you’re done for!

My older brother will not let you get away with this.”

Sikong Jing’s gaze turned icy, too lazy to speak further.

After spewing threats madly, the group supported each other and left.

Meanwhile, several young men and women from the Apprentice School Region cautiously approached.

“Brother, you’re only a Level 1 Apprentice, that was too reckless.”

“Exactly, Second Young Master Zheng’s brother is Zheng Yuansheng, and he’s not just a Level 4 Apprentice—his older brother Zheng Yuanlou is an Official Student at Thunder Dragon Mountain, and nobody dares to offend him lightly.”

“Zheng Yuansheng’s arrogance comes from having an elder brother.”

The group expressed that since Sikong Jing was new, he shouldn’t have been so rash and should have learned about the situation first.

However, Sikong Jing’s thoughts were elsewhere, puzzled, he asked, “He is a Level 4 Apprentice?

How weak.”

Yu Yan’s mention of three routine tasks flashed through his mind, puzzling him.

How did Zheng Yuansheng manage to stay by completing those tasks?

“Uh…”

The group exchanged looks, then another man added, “Zheng Yuansheng isn’t really that weak; he’s among the top in Level 4 Apprentices, but mainly, his brother is an Official Student.”

“You can fight, but you’re still just an apprentice.

Here in the Apprentice Institute, it’s not only about learning martial skills but also how to behave.”

“Right, in the Long Night Saint Dragon Palace Apprentice School Region, many are related to influential people.

There either from the families of the Imperial Palace nobles or the siblings of Official Students who didn’t manage to advance, so they must keep a low profile.”

The crowd chattered incessantly.

They clearly acknowledged Sikong Jing’s strength, but an apprentice is still an apprentice.

Since the Long Night Saint Dragon Palace had not recognized him as an Official Student, it showed that even with significant skills, he did not meet the criteria of an Official Student.

Nevertheless, Sikong Jing still frowned and asked further, “Those toadies around Zheng Yuansheng, are they all apprentices too?”

Opening their mouths, they wondered if he really understood what they were saying.

“They are all apprentices, but they know how to act… Around here, those without backing must find someone influential to rely on, or else they really can’t survive even a day,” the first man emphasized heavily again.

“Brother, I know someone Zheng Yuansheng does not get along with.”

Then another man spoke up, “I can introduce you, and you can bring him a gift; that could temporarily smooth over what just happened.

Otherwise, Zheng Yuanlou will definitely come to trouble you.”

“By then, if you get beaten up, no one will stand up for you.”

To this, Sikong Jing appeared somewhat absentminded.

Even the toadies are apprentices?

Blinking his eyes, Sikong Jing asked again, “All so weak, how did they manage to complete the three routine tasks?”

Suddenly, everyone fell silent.

“Is there something wrong with this new apprentice?”
