Berserk God of War

Chapter 282: Chapter 282: I, Yu Yan, Inner Palace Student

But Lu Fenglan still exuded arrogance. No matter how powerful Sikong Jing’s combat abilities were, he was still just a little apprentice.

Not having become an official student proved that he was flawed, and even more so without any background.

With this thought, Lu Fenglan’s aura became even more intense, and she bellowed, ”Why aren’t you kneeling down and kowtowing?”

Her words had just fallen when an icy figure suddenly flashed over, moving so fast that in an instant she appeared in front of Lu Fenglan. Then with a ”smack,” she slapped Lu Fenglan across the face.

In an instant, Lu Fenglan let out a cry as she was sent flying, crashing heavily onto the ground.

After picking herself up, she yelled furiously, ”Who the hell dares to hit me?”

”I, Yu Yan!”

The cold female voice rang out from the crowd—it was Yu Yan.

And after slapping Lu Fenglan, she already stood in front of Sikong Jing and the other two with a piercing gaze.

”Lu Fenglan, do you think the Task Hall is owned by your family?”

”Thinking you can kill if you want to kill, bully apprentices if you want to bully, and be partial if you feel like it? What are you exactly?”

Yu Yan was a student of Fire Dragon Mountain in her fourth year, already possessing deep power and a powerful aura.

The bone-chilling air around her forced both new and senior apprentices to continually back away.

Lu Fenglan’s face drastically changed, staring at Yu Yan without a hint of fear, she snapped coldly, ”Yu Yan, and what exactly are you? Dare to meddle in this young lady’s affairs, do you believe my father will let you off?”

Smack!

Suddenly, Yu Yan fiercely threw a silver token at Lu Fenglan’s face, retorting sharply, ”Open your damn eyes and take a good look at what I am.”

Struck by the token, Lu Fenglan’s eyes saw stars, and while gasping for breath, she picked up the token and said, ”I have to see this for myself... the, the Inner Palace Students.”

Before she could finish, Lu Fenglan let out a high-pitched scream.

On the silver token was a majestic Divine Dragon. The dragon had three wings unfolded—the mark of a three-winged Inner Palace Student.

Thump, thump, thump, thump...

One by one, the official students on duty at the Task Hall stood up, staring at Yu Yan in disbelief.

Two days before, when Yu Yan was on duty here, she wasn’t an Inner Palace Student. How could she suddenly have entered the Inner Palace?

Whether it’s Xingluo Palace or Holy Dragon Palace, Inner Palace Students are extremely terrifying.

The identity and status of some Inner Palace Students even surpassed that of ordinary masters, and Inner Palace Students were graded by levels, from one wing to nine wings. Yu Yan’s three wings were already formidable.

The complexion of an on-duty student turned pale.

Although they hadn’t done anything, their inaction while allowing Lu Fenglan to show favoritism and bully apprentices would surely lead to punishment.

Smack!

Suddenly, Yu Yan threw a second token, striking Lu Fenglan.

The latter dared not to be defiant any longer and picked it up for another look. Her hands trembling, she threw it away and exclaimed in a quavering voice, ”The Great Deacon of Task Hall Students, you, you, you... how is that possible?”

Buzz!

The minds of the on-duty official students were reverberating with shock. Yu Yan had not only become an Inner Palace Student, she had also become the Great Deacon of Holy Dragon Palace’s Task Hall... which meant that she was in control of the Task Hall now.

Now, their doom seemed even more certain.

”From today on, I am one of the three Great Student Deacons of the Holy Dragon Palace’s Task Hall, in charge of all matters big and small in the Task Hall.”

Yu Yan’s frosty voice sounded again, as she coldly fixed her gaze on Lu Fenglan and said, ”Now you can get lost. I want your father to show up in the Task Hall by nightfall to clarify your situation to me and Master Wen.”

”By the way, Master Wen Hu has become the only master deacon of the Task Hall. I will report everything here to him in full detail.”

”Immediately... get out!”

As Yu Yan spoke, Lu Fenglan’s entire body shook violently before she scrambled out in panic.

She no longer had the slightest intention of defiance; now, all she could think of was to find her father to come up with some solutions, hoping for a lighter punishment.

Watching Lu Fenglan leave, silence fell in the Task Hall.

Then, Yu Yan turned towards the Official Students currently on duty.

”Today is the day new Apprentices and new Students are admitted to the academy, and there are many affairs to attend to, so I will not pursue this matter for now. However, Master Wen Hu will deal with you afterwards. Continue with your work.”

The on-duty Students swallowed hard and sat back down with pale faces, filled with anxiety.

They cursed Lu Fenglan in their hearts, ranting about how her father was a Wind Dragon Mountain tutor, and damned her for not even knowing the staff changes in the Task Hall—it was downright lethal.

After retrieving the two Tokens, Yu Yan turned to look at Sikong Jing and the others.

Xu He and Ge Rong swallowed nervously, feeling immense pressure in front of the Inner Palace Students, overwhelmingly tense.

Even knowing that Yu Yan was on their side, they couldn’t control their racing hearts.

At that moment, Yu Yan spoke softly, ”Regarding your situation, I am already aware.”

”Now, let’s reevaluate the Xiangyi Grass—you all, come with me.”

Soon the Xiangyi Grass was evaluated, and sure enough, it was of superior quality—points were doubled.

Next, Yu Yan took Gu Wei’s Token from Sikong Jing and after it was evaluated declared, ”This indeed is a second-year Student Token from Xingluo Palace, with a points reward of forty thousand. Who should I give it to?”

After finishing, Yu Yan deliberately looked towards Xu He and Ge Rong...

”Of course, it goes to Brother Sikong. This was originally his,” Xu He said without hesitation.

Ge Rong naturally had no complaints; after all, it had been Sikong Jing who purposely offered to help her with it before. Now it was no longer needed, as the doubled points from the Xiangyi Grass were enough to win over the Female Apprentice opposite.

Yu Yan nodded with satisfaction, and then credited forty thousand points to Sikong Jing, finally asking, ”Do you have any other matters?”

”I would like to publish a task,” Sikong Jing said casually.

He knew that Yu Yan was pretending not to recognize him, and of course, he didn’t expose it.

”Alright, then come with me to the inner chamber. There are some things I need to explain to you as well.” After nodding, Yu Yan led Sikong Jing into the inner chamber of the Task Hall.

As the two left, the surroundings erupted into a buzz of discussion.

The new Apprentices just watched as if in a daze, slightly overwhelmed.

Meanwhile, the older Apprentices were discussing the incident with Lu Fenglan, speculating how Sikong Jing, the new Apprentice, managed to get a second-year Xingluo Palace Student Token, and why he was so formidable.

Could it be that he slapped the Official Student Lu Fenglan flying with just a slap because Lu Fenglan was not that skilled to begin with?

”Xu He, where did you find such a freak?”

Even now, Ge Rong was still puzzling over Sikong Jing’s sudden appearance, completely baffled.

Xu He cornered his mouth and said, ”It was pure luck.”

”Brother Sikong Jing was taken in by Dean Tan Yue of Drunk Dragon Mountain while he was drunk; you know what that old man is like,” he explained.

”It turns out that this time he really brought back a monster,” he added.

Xu He briefly mentioned how Sikong Jing had managed to complete the three old tasks and continued, ”Now, he has also joined our Da He Association.”

Ge Rong’s mouth fell open, and she tearfully exclaimed, ”Heavens haven’t forsaken our Da He Association!”

The departure of the older Apprentices made it difficult for the Da He Association in the new academic year, but now a monstrous newcomer, Sikong Jing, had arrived.

With him, the Da He Association might just be saved.
