Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2264: Qiuqiu

For too many years, the structure of the cosmic races of the universe had seen no major changes. Even if the extinction of some small races was excluded, there had been no minor changes either.

Since long ago, the three major blocs, along with the free faction represented by the Taros Red Dwarfs, had fixed the entire existence model of the cosmic races of the universe.

There had been those who wanted to change it; for example, not long ago, the Huoʼer Star people and the Reina Star people had secretly planned a clearance operation. But those ideas had never been put into action due to various unforeseen circumstances.

And now, the Sheke Star people had stepped forward and declared their stance leaning toward the Su Clan. The implications were truly thought-provoking.

It should be known that the backbone, or the skeletal framework, of both the Huoʼer Star camp and the Reina Star camp was composed of other supermajor races.

One could say that this was the foundation of their continued hold on the reins of power over the cosmic races of the universe.

As the saying goes, a good man has three helpers; without the support of these supermajor races, the Huoʼer Star people and the Reina Star people could never have attained their current status.

But after the Sheke Star people issued this declaration, this stable ”edifice” began to show a slight tremor.

In the Survivor Fortress, where both the Huoʼer Star people and the Sheke Star people were located, tensions suddenly rose on both sides.

Behind the scenes, no one knew whether the Huoʼer Star people and the Sheke Star people were effectively communicating, but publicly, after the Sheke Star peopleʼs statement, all the supermajor and major races across the cosmic races fell into an eerie silence.
Everyone knew that this matter would either explode in that silence, or it would end there.

……………………

Ye Zhongming had now arrived in outer space, awaiting specific instructions from the cosmic races of the universe.

Some news had come through, making the personnel of the various races here somewhat unsettled, but they had gathered at different spaceports according to their camps, and for the time being, no conflicts had broken out.

This was exactly what the Cloud Peak King hoped for, because at the moment he was studying Qiuqiuʼs condition.

Right now, the thread that Qiuqiu had extended into the spatial equipment was still inside, and it had shifted from being awake to a state of slumber.

But unlike the sleeping state of other battle pets before, Ye Zhongming felt that this creature was not evolving. It was... truly asleep.

Fortunately, the thing had no respiratory organs, or else snot bubbles would probably be forming.

Ye Zhongming was worried sick, afraid that something unexpected might happen. He had even taken a small spacecraft alone to a location some distance from the spaceport, and Qiuqiu had been sleeping through it all.

If it were not for his concern that he did not understand its condition and could not take drastic action, Ye Zhongming would have really wanted to slap it awake.

But for now, the Cloud Peak King could do little, as Qiuqiuʼs situation was rather special.

To be honest, this little creature summoned from a different space was somewhat similar to Yellow Ball; both were battle pets that did not require a contract. Although their loyalty was unquestionable and their connection to him was close enough, in terms of energy exchange, they lagged behind Yangos, White Dragon Horse, and Leilei Bird.

So Ye Zhongming could not clearly perceive the specific changes happening inside Qiuqiuʼs body at that moment; he could only sense a general outline.

And that was precisely why he was all the more confused—because he could not detect any energy fluctuation within Qiuqiu.

Ye Zhongming could not tell whether it was because he simply could not sense it, or because there really was nothing there.

Either way, he could not pull Qiuqiuʼs thread out of the spatial ring; he was afraid of causing problems. All Ye Zhongming could do was wait.

This waiting was truly agonizing. Watching Qiuqiu, the sleeping god, which had been carefully moved onto the table with his spatial ring still attached, Ye Zhongming, out of sheer boredom, began repairing the mechanical war beasts he had manufactured.

He had no choice; he could not make equipment, because all his materials were in that ring, and only the mechanical war beasts were in a separate spatial device.

The many mechanical war beasts he had built before the planet hunting ground began had played a significant role in the final battle against the Huoʼer Star people.

By then, the already collapsing Huoʼer Star forces had still been numerous. Even though some Su Clan members had brought out their ultimate portable formations, the Star-Eye Clan had employed ancient war formations, and with so many great-expert-level beings on their side, victory was certain, but a total annihilation was not guaranteed. It was only after Ye Zhongmingʼs mechanical war beast units joined the battle that they ensured no one escaped and reduced casualties.

But many had been damaged. Ye Zhongming, alone on the spacecraft with plenty of space, took out over a hundred damaged mechanical war beasts, as well as those that were completely wrecked, planning to piece together whatever he could and see how many he could repair.

The small spacecraft was immediately filled with the smell of metal.

Ye Zhongming first studied Mountain Fury, which had also sustained damage. The problem was not major; the damaged parts did not involve the core. He found some components from the wreckage, processed them himself, and managed to fix Mountain Fury for now, though the head area lacked a suitable ultra-strength protective cover, which would have to wait until he returned.

After that, Ye Zhongming began repairing the other mechanical war beasts.

Since he had built these things himself, repairing them came relatively naturally, and in the process, he continued to deepen his understanding of mechanical war beast manufacturing technology.

Within a few hours, Ye Zhongming had repaired most of them, leaving only about twenty that could not be fixed due to unsuitable materials.

After thinking it over, he decided to dismantle some of the more difficult ones and use their parts to repair the others.

After clattering away at dismantling ten units, Ye Zhongming resumed his life as a repairman.

After fixing another six, Ye Zhongming suddenly stopped what he was doing. He quickly moved to Qiuqiuʼs side and found that the little creature had woken up at some point.

He looked at it, and a strange feeling arose in his heart; he had a sense that the little thing was about to cause trouble!

Sure enough, the white thread that had been limp and extended into the spatial ring suddenly tightened. A surge of power so immense that it made Ye Zhongmingʼs hair stand on end was being transmitted through those threads into Qiuqiuʼs body.

This was... Ye Zhongmingʼs eyes widened. This power was definitely not something a great expert should possess!

Could it be that the power in Kunzuoʼs severed hand had not dissipated?

Even though his perception of Qiuqiuʼs own power was relatively vague, after more than ten seconds, Ye Zhongming could tell that Qiuqiuʼs strength had skyrocketed by a huge margin, and the white threads had even become somewhat translucent.

After a little more time, about half a minute, Qiuqiuʼs body suddenly began to swell. The little creature started making constant ”gugu gugu” sounds, lacking its usual rhythm and sounding quite chaotic.

Ye Zhongming instinctively stepped forward to take a closer look, but Qiuqiu suddenly whipped out another white thread and landed it on its masterʼs shoulder.

Instantly, Ye Zhongming felt like cursing.
