Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2245: Sneak attack

Many people had already heard of Ye Zhongming, including super races like the Huoʼer Star people.

This person had risen like a comet in the Novice battlefield. Back then, they had only heard of him and then forgotten.

Later, when they heard of him again, it was mostly in connection with Jie Su. He was the friend of the Su Clanʼs genius, and such things.

Even later, it was when he had casually summoned three great expert-level beings before Kunzuo, which truly made the Huoʼer Star people realize that there was a reason this person could be friends with the Star-Eye Clanʼs genius and the Su Clanʼs genius.

He might even be the strongest of the three!

In the battlefield, Ye Zhongmingʼs performance proved this as well.

Jie Su was difficult to deal with. His formations could possess different properties, making him very troublesome in battle because you never knew if the next thing attacking you would be a beam of light, a vine, or some kind of debuff.

And this Su Clan genius was also very talented in close combat; even without formations, he was a qualified great expert.

White Robe was difficult to deal with. After this Star-Eye Clan White Order Leader advanced to great expert, he showed everyone how terrifying a master assassin could be. In just a short time, who knew how many high-ranking personnel had been killed by the already wounded White Robe? With his efforts alone, he had nearly paralyzed half of the Huoʼer Star peopleʼs command system.

But now, they found Ye Zhongming even more difficult to handle.
He did not rely on formations like Jie Su to embed himself firmly in one position and make things uncomfortable for the Huoʼer Star people, nor did he appear and disappear like White Robe, making him impossible to guard against.

But his killing power was the greatest of the three.

He alone could function like a hundred-man squad, charging into the Huoʼer Star peopleʼs formation, and almost no one could stand against him.

He seemed able to control gravity, making those around him heavy and putting them at an inherent disadvantage. He also had a bright field that weakened the combat ability of anyone who entered it. His body had a self-replenishing layer of armor with extremely high defensive power. He could also summon mountain phantoms and real mountain peaks for large-area destruction.

Beside him was a Raini-grade mechanical war beast with formidable firepower. There was a great expert-level Leilei Bird constantly assisting him from the air. He could even teleport when in danger, and possessed superhuman endurance and strength that seemed never to tire.

He was a combat machine. Even though he was not yet a great expert, he absolutely exerted a deterrent force beyond that of a great expert. Combined with the Leilei Bird and the mechanical war beast, he was essentially equivalent to more than two great experts.

From the start of the battle until now, not much time had actually passed, but this man had killed at least several thousand people single-handedly, thoroughly throwing the Huoʼer Star peopleʼs formation into chaos.

If they could not take down this man, there was no way to continue the fight.

So the Huoʼer Star people assembled a hundred-man expert squad to eliminate Ye Zhongming as a target.

They began to clear the people around him, but very covertly, and not completely. They left some Su Clan and minor race alliance members behind as cover.

Then, a Huoʼer Star great expert came specifically to tie down the Leilei Bird, so it would not interfere at a critical moment.

Only when everything was prepared according to plan did someone initiate the surprise attack on Ye Zhongming.

This person, with the help of his companions, quickly killed the opponent in front of him but did not let the body fall. Then, one of his hands passed through the corpse and sent a burst of energy toward Ye Zhongming, who had his back to him.

This energy was very subtle and not very powerful; in fact, its true target was not Ye Zhongmingʼs body, but his feet.

In the heat of battle, Ye Zhongming could not possibly defend against everything completely. He only noticed the energy after it had landed on the ground. But before he could turn around, he felt his feet give way. The solid ground beneath him had turned into mud.

This effect was not actually very powerful, purely an auxiliary ability, but it opened the curtain on the Huoʼer Star peopleʼs attack on Ye Zhongming.

As Ye Zhongming sank into the mud pit, several beams of energy in various colors flew out from the surroundings, landing above and around Ye Zhongming.

These abilities were not meant to attack Ye Zhongming, but to keep him fixed in place.

After that, several figures rushed in quickly. Meanwhile, in nearby areas, the squad members split into two groups: one group began preparing powerful attacks that required a bit more time, while the other group turned back to block those trying to come to his rescue.

For this ambush, they had clear layers of command and were determined to succeed.

On the battlefield, which had become chaos where combatants were indistinguishable, they had created what they considered a vacuum zone around Ye Zhongming to carry out this siege.

At this moment, only Mountain Rage was beside Ye Zhongming.

”Seal!”

A formation appeared in the area where Ye Zhongming was located, preventing the use of teleportation abilities. This was an intermediate formation of the Su Clan, activated using formation disks and some simple materials—the Huoʼer Star people had prepared it in advance.

Before the Planet Hunting Ground began, they had also purchased quite a few formation disks from the Su Clan.

Ye Zhongming, sensing danger and wanting to leave, suddenly lost the chance to escape after the first wave of skills exploding around him faded.

Then, he saw the sky filled with skills and ranged attacks flying toward him.

Without a second thought, he jumped straight into Mountain Rage, controlled the mechanical war beast to charge forward while withstanding some attacks, and then unleashed a mental shock, using Mountain Rage to amplify its effect. After jumping out again, he put away the Raini-grade mechanical war beast, which had been severely damaged in this wave of attacks.

Ye Zhongming had already realized that this was a targeted ambush against him. He had used Mountain Rage to block once; he could not use it a second time, or he would truly lose this equipment.

By gaining a relatively good state for himself and unleashing the mental shock, Mountain Rage had already fulfilled its mission.

Seventeen warriors from the first wave charged close to Ye Zhongming and launched their attacks.

They either excelled at close combat or were agile and fast, capable of keeping Ye Zhongming entangled.

The Cloud Peak King surveyed the surroundings and knew that no one could help him for at least a minute. This minute was the most dangerous moment.

The previous battle had left many of Ye Zhongmingʼs abilities on cooldown, so he did not have much to rely on now.

But he did not panic. He put away the greatsword suited for wide, sweeping attacks and replaced it with two daggers.

The next moment, four black shadows appeared around Ye Zhongming; front, back, left, and right. With a wave of his hand, they shot out in four directions at light speed, so fast that the people around them barely had time to react.

This bizarre sight caused a brief moment of hesitation in the Huoʼer Star squad. Then, finding that their bodies seemed unaffected, they continued their attacks.

Ye Zhongming sneered. At the very moment before the weapons around him were about to strike his body, he crossed his arms together. The shadows that had just shot outward came flying back with the same ferocious speed!
