Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2246: Sneak attack (2)

When the shadow went, it passed through the bodies of these people, but when it returned, it was not like that.

Originally, the first wave of people attacking Ye Zhongming was not too many, only about a dozen; previously, these shadows had passed through their bodies, and although they worried about subsequent trouble, at least for the moment there was nothing unusual, and as long as Ye Zhongming was killed, any later effects should be avoidable.

Unfortunately, just as their weapons were about to strike him, those black shadows came back, and instead of passing through their bodies, they launched fierce attacks against them.

The attack was very simple: these black shadows turned into black blades and sliced toward the targetsʼ bodies.

The sounds of puff puff puff kept ringing out; the bodies of the outermost several people were directly cut open, and blood immediately sprayed out.

The sounds from behind naturally affected the people in front, and their hands slowed down just a little.

This was a very normal thing; for ordinary people, at this moment they would have been unable to resist looking back or directly jumping away. It was their years of combat experience and psychological quality that kept them from fleeing at the first sign of danger and instead choosing to continue attacking.

Ye Zhongming used his daggers in both hands to block left and right, but still four or five blows landed on his body, and he barely managed to avoid the vital points.

They were all opponents of the same level; attacks were not so easy to dodge. His body immediately lost control and flew off in one direction.

This direction was carefully chosen by Ye Zhongming; not only could it temporarily pull away from the opponents, but it was also closer to Jie Suʼs side, and White Dragon Horse was also over there.
The first wave of attackers immediately followed, not wanting to give Ye Zhongming a chance to catch his breath.

Earlier, they had already been afraid, because the strength Ye Zhongming had displayed far exceeded his Furelai level, which was why they had used a squad of a hundred to deal with him.

But now they were even more afraid, because in just that one instant, those black shadows had killed four companions, leaving only thirteen of them.

At the same time, they also felt very unfamiliar with the ability Ye Zhongming had used, only vaguely guessing that it should be an assassination technique of the Star-Eye Clan.

But could a skill from a small race really be so terrifying? They were considered experts even among the Huoʼer Star people; after all, true great experts and peak experts were only a small portion, and the vast majority of people never surpassed a Furelai of one hundred thousand in their entire lives. Those like them, with Furelai above fifty thousand and already eighty or ninety thousand, were not too numerous either.

Yet even such people could not block a single move and had four killed? How could they not be afraid?

Ye Zhongming quickly leaped away; skills exploded from the back of his body, and the energy impact made his already injured body even more uncomfortable. In front of him, the first enemy to arrive had a ferocious face that almost filled his entire field of vision.

The Cloud Peak King suddenly intensified his gravity control, and his already shattered Black Soil Armor refreshed; then, after tilting slightly to one side, he took the initiative to meet the attack head-on.

He met the opponentʼs weapon.

Obviously, such a ”suicidal” move made the opponent pause for a moment, but the already launched attack did not stop.

This person thought: whether this was a trap or an error on the opponentʼs part, he would still bring his weapon down; he did not believe this man could survive. Even if the gravity anomaly weakened and stalled his own attack, it would still be terrifying.

In fact, his weapon did indeed come down and did hit Ye Zhongming, but the moment Ye Zhongmingʼs body was knocked backward, the weapon in one of his hands swept across the opponentʼs neck, while a cold gleam shot out from his other hand.

In the face of the counterattack, a piece of metal suddenly appeared on the neck of this Huoʼer Star expert. It had popped out from the armor he was wearing. He felt the pain and even felt his throat bone crack, but a smile appeared on his face. He knew that he was only wounded, but the other would die. Even if his attack had been withstood, the companions behind him would easily kill him using the time he had lost control of his body.

But he did not see the other cold gleam that shot from his blind spot.

This cold gleam entered his head through his ear, and then this Huoʼer Star man collapsed limply to the ground, the smile still on his face.

After Ye Zhongming flew out, the daggers in both hands disappeared, and a stick-like mimic battle weapon from his Novice period appeared. After tapping it on the ground, he threw it out to block one of the pursuing enemies, and then, before landing, he fully activated the Moonlight Field of the Star Spirit, both enhancing himself and causing trouble for the enemy.

The greatsword he had used earlier reappeared, and without bothering with what the people around him were doing, he swung it in a circle in front of him.

The fierce blade aura, combined with the fact that this weapon, improved by Ye Zhongming himself, was also not low in level, meant its power was assured; at least enough to break through Red Condensation-grade armor. And even among the Huoʼer Star people, those who had Raini Grade equipment were all great experts; none of these people attacking Ye Zhongming had reached that level.

The few who had pursued closely were drawn into Ye Zhongmingʼs attack as they launched their own, and both sides instantly exchanged injuries, and quite severe ones at that.

Within a short time, Ye Zhongming had replaced several sets of Black Soil Armor on his body, and the enemiesʼ protective gear was also cut open.

The only difference was that Ye Zhongming could continue attacking, while the enemies could not.

Not everyone possessed the Beautiful Celestial Body, nor did everyone have the power of back-feeding.

The remaining twelve enemies from the first wave surrounded Ye Zhongming again; among them, the three who had just been wounded were pulling back, and only nine truly closed in.

And more people were already very close; perhaps they would arrive in five seconds.

Even after killing five and wounding three, Ye Zhongming still found himself in a desperate situation.

At least half of the hundred-man attack squad was on the outer perimeter blocking any would-be rescuers. Given their strength, only people at the level of clan chiefs from smaller races could handle them, but the small-race alliance needed their clan chiefs as the backbone to support the entire battlefield; they simply could not come to rescue him here.

Many Huoʼer Star people saw this scene, and smiles appeared on their faces.

The price paid to kill one person was indeed a bit high, but now the situation was what it was. If they let Ye Zhongming continue to kill their combatants, the outcome would truly be unpredictable. Even if they had paid the price of five deaths, if they could kill this man, everything would be worth it.

In many peopleʼs eyes, Ye Zhongming was doomed; he could not possibly survive against dozens of same-level experts.

Ye Zhongming knew this too. Looking at the enemies swarming in from all around, he took out a formation plate and then threw it around his own body.

With a ding, the formation plate was activated, and Ye Zhongming, along with the three people closest to him, vanished from the spot together.
