Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2260: Fist kill

This kind of symbol was Kunzuoʼs source power.

At a life-and-death moment, he trusted only his own power, so even though there were still many usable items in his space, he persisted in using the symbols built from his source power, capable of both offense and defense. Kunzuo did not feel that anything else could replace them.

Although this consumed a great deal of his energy, he believed it was worth it.

Against a peer-level expert, a single source symbol naturally could not do much; even if the opponent stood there without armor and let it explode, it would at most stagger them; for a peak expert of average strength like Kirsailting, it might only draw a few drops of blood.

But against other lifeforms, it was entirely different. Against a great expert, a single source symbol was enough to inflict serious injury. Without Kunzuoʼs treatment, the foreign power would remain within the great expertʼs body, and even if the wound healed, it would continuously affect them. It could be said that no one other than Kunzuo could cure it.

And for lifeforms below great-expert level, the explosive power of a single symbol was lethal. As long as one had not crossed the threshold of great expert, there was no chance of survival.

Ye Zhongming, having lost his transformed state, was precisely not a great expert!

So Kunzuo felt that Ye Zhongming was surely doomed.

Once Ye Zhongming was blown to bits, even though Kunzuo would have exhausted his source power, he still had other things to sustain him. By then, his subordinates would have arrived, and he would have the chance to take healing potions. Even if he could recover just ten percent of his strength, that would be enough, with his subordinatesʼ cooperation, to kill every enemy here!

The source symbol exploded as he had anticipated. Kunzuo did not even look (well, to be fair, his vision was virtually gone) and charged forward. But in his haste, he seemed to hear some sound like ”aaaah yah yah goo goo.”
”You... are too impatient, arenʼt you?” A voice sounded by his ear, making Kunzuoʼs entire body tremble. Then, the peak expert felt a sharp pain, followed by dizziness in his head, and then, wave after wave of endless pain.

The Ye Zhongming whom Kunzuo had thought surely dead had not died at all; instead, he stood unharmed beside him. As he spoke those words, he directly snapped off one of Kunzuoʼs hands and stowed it into his own space.

On that hand was a spatial ring.

Then, Ye Zhongming began raining punches on Kunzuo.

In the absence of better weapons, Ye Zhongming trusted his own physical strength more at this moment. Perhaps this was also the only ability that allowed him, in his normal state, to surpass the limits of a great expert.

With one hand, he grabbed Kunzuoʼs collarbone, digging his fingers directly into it, causing Kunzuo to scream in pain while also causing the flesh on Ye Zhongmingʼs fingertips to split apart, exposing the bone beneath.

Even though Kunzuo had little ability to resist at this point and wore no protective gear, just piercing the skin of a peak expert required a certain price.

Ye Zhongming held on tightly, then punched Kunzuoʼs head, which had not yet sunk into his chest cavity, again and again.

It was not that Ye Zhongming insisted on attacking such a hard area; rather, he had to ensure that Kunzuoʼs mind could not return to a normal state. Otherwise, once this peak expert regained even a little clarity, who knew what methods he might use to escape or even counterattack.

Now Ye Zhongming did not have another life to waste, and Qiuqiu did not seem able to block another attack for him.

Yes, it was Qiuqiu, his most free-spirited pet, that had just taken the source symbolʼs explosion for Ye Zhongming. Although Qiuqiu did not appear often and Ye Zhongming did not know where it usually went, at least it stayed on the same planet as him, and when summoned, it would show up in time.

Ye Zhongming had long known about Qiuqiuʼs freakish defensive power, but he was not entirely sure if it could block a peak expertʼs strike. Now it seemed Qiuqiu was quite capable; though after being blasted by the source symbol, it lay on the ground, grumbling and unable to get up, it should not die.

Ye Zhongming had no better option at this moment. He punched Kunzuoʼs head again and again. To avoid wrecking his own hands, he wrapped a layer of energy around them. Each strike dissipated that energy, but at least the recoil on his hands was lighter.

As the owner of the Beautiful Celestial Body, Ye Zhongming had taken many strength-enhancing potions back on Earth. After coming to the celestial realm, the unlocking of elemental spirits and the Lord equipment had further advanced this aspect, and the increase in Furelai had brought his strength to an entirely new level.

Ye Zhongming had punched himself into a trance, completely unaware that the surroundings had grown very quiet.

Both the Su Clan and the small-race alliance, as well as the Huoʼer Star side, had stopped.

Because the scene before them was simply too shocking.

When had anyone ever seen a peak expert being grabbed and beaten down?!

Even the Huoʼer Star people had not rushed in to rescue him. First, they were stunned by the spectacle and had not reacted in time. Second, they had just been beaten quite badly; from great experts to ordinary soldiers, the combat power of the Su Clan and the small-race alliance had all surged, and Ye Zhongming had also thrown large-area killing skills their way, making it hard for them to cope. Third, some of them had already begun to have their own ideas.

It seemed Lord Kunzuo was in dire straits; so next... it was time to think about themselves.

It was under these circumstances that Ye Zhongming continued to pound Kunzuo with heavy punches. Eventually, he even entered a strange, meditative state. He could only vaguely sense that some blood and bone were flying, and then he heard a great commotion.

He snapped out of that state, and his fists stopped. Only then did Ye Zhongming realize that his fist; letʼs call it a fist for now, was already twisted beyond recognition. The skin and flesh on the outside of the finger bones had burst open, exposing the bone beneath, and between the metacarpals and phalanges, they had even broken apart, held together only by a few strands of tissue.

From any angle, this hand was ruined.

Pain gradually crept into Ye Zhongmingʼs consciousness, but he did not care. What he cared about was the condition of Kunzuo, who was still held in his other hand.

This peak expert now showed no signs of movement; his entire body was limp, and only the faint warmth from Ye Zhongmingʼs palm proved that he was still alive, or that he had once lived.

Then, some light began to precipitate from Kunzuoʼs body, harmless, simply seeping out from the nearly headless form and dissipating into the air, as if this person were returning the energy he had once absorbed from the vast universe.

This scene had also been witnessed just a short while ago.

At some moment earlier, Kunzuo had thought he had won; that was his illusion. But at this moment, anyone could be certain: everything here... was over.
