Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2177: Deep Abyss Space

The two hesitated for only a moment before realizing the reason.

Although they had sealed themselves off to prevent the scent of their bodies from spreading, and had changed their clothes so there was no smell of blood,

They had overlooked one point earlier: when White Robe killed Zimu, he had really put in a tremendous effort. For example, he had used so many pieces of equipment to bait out Zimuʼs abilities, he had used a tactic of trading injury for injury, and everything he did was aimed at the key to victory—the poison White Robe had placed in his own body...

Although he had won, White Robe was severely injured. The poison could be neutralized by the antidote he had, but his injuries were so severe that they were almost untreatable. It was only after he took medicine and Jie Su came to administer both internal and external treatments that he turned the corner.

Even now, he still could not fight; he could only move without difficulty.

Earlier, everyone had forgotten that White Robeʼs body had been coated with medicine. Although most of it had been absorbed by his body, there must be a residual odor.

That monster could smell the faint traces left by the three while they were healing. It was impossible that it had not noticed White Robeʼs scent.

Its retreat could only mean that it was not confident it could handle the three. If the three did not leave now, they might soon have to face an unknown number of these unidentified lives.

The three quickly moved toward a cave entrance they had explored earlier. This cave extended upward, which matched their judgment that this place was an underground cavern. Going upward would bring them closer to escaping.

But just as they reached that cave, sounds suddenly erupted from all directions, rushing toward the cave they had just left.
They had no choice but to keep running.

It was not that they did not want to hide here any longer, but now an unknown number of lives were rushing from many directions. The passage they were in was right next to the previous passage and was a must-pass path for those lives.

However, the three were ultimately too unfamiliar with this place. The passages had no light whatsoever. After evading several waves of lives by relying on Ye Zhongmingʼs keen senses, they were still blocked in a passage by two waves of lives.

Two light balls lit up at the same time, hung on Jie Su and Ye Zhongmingʼs bodies.

Since they could not hide, they had to fight.

”Are they parasites?!”

Jie Su said.

The lives blocking both sides now retreated one after another under the illumination of the light balls, moving out of the lightʼs range. Living year-round in a dark environment made them momentarily unaccustomed to the light.

However, this would only last a moment. Soon, they would frenziedly attack.

Although the appearance of these parasites was not recorded among the ten thousand races of the universe, their form was consistent with the parasite lineage and was still easy to recognize.

Discovering parasites here that were not recorded by the cosmic races meant that either these parasites were a newly emerged species or an extremely ancient one that had persisted to the present.

If it was the former, it meant that the planet they were currently on was within the encirclement of the Slave Race. For them to return, this planet would need to be in the cosmic racesʼ attention, and then they would have to wait for the welcoming day. If it was the latter... they did not know what to do.

”Which side?”

White Robe stood behind the two and opened his mouth to ask.

They could not just defend here forever, waiting to be attacked. They had to break out.

”Ye Zhongmingʼs side.”

Jie Su knew that although his overall strength was slightly higher than Ye Zhongmingʼs, when fighting in a place like this, he was not as good as Ye Zhongming.

Rather than forcing it, it was better to stay behind and provide support.

”Alright, on the count of three, get ready.”

Ye Zhongming responded simply, taking out a Red Condensation-grade war saber. This was one of the few remaining items in his space equipment.

Because space equipment could not be stacked, neither he nor Jie Su and White Robe carried more than one or two. What they contained were mostly medicines and the materials needed for setting up formations earlier, with very few supplies.

After counting down, Ye Zhongming charged out ahead. The war saber in his hand traced a beautiful arc of light, cutting open the body of the first parasite in front. A splash of foul-smelling liquid scattered, officially opening the curtain of this battle.

In this kind of passage terrain, Ye Zhongming was quite brave, like a one-man army. The two elemental spirits helped by his side. Almost no parasite could withstand a single blow from him. He fought all the way through these stone cave passages, bringing White Robe and Jie Su along.

They did not know when it would end. In their current situation, they could only persevere; otherwise, once they stopped, they would be completely done for.

Finally, at a certain moment, after Ye Zhongming killed a parasite, the path ahead suddenly opened up. He had wiped out the enemies in this direction.

But Ye Zhongming could not stop. He had to keep moving forward because the pursuers were still behind. Later, he and Jie Su swapped positions, with Jie Su in front and him in the back.

Because there were no more enemies ahead, the threeʼs speed immediately increased significantly. Ye Zhongming also occasionally collapsed some narrow sections of the passage to block the pursuers. Gradually, they began to break free from the enemies.

At this point, they no longer cared about direction. Jie Su relied entirely on his senses to go upward as much as possible, to keep moving in one direction as much as possible.

About five minutes later, they had run an unknown distance and finally could no longer hear the sounds of the pursuers behind them. They should have shaken them off, at least temporarily.

This period had exhausted all three, especially Ye Zhongming and White Robe. One had been fighting the whole way intensely; the other was not yet healed. After arriving here, they sat on the ground to recover as quickly as possible.

”If that creature with the keen sense of smell keeps after us, we wonʼt be able to shake it for long,” White Robe said, his voice tinged with discouragement. It was no wonder he felt this way; on the monsterʼs own turf, that was how it was. Too passive.

Ye Zhongming chuckled. ”There is still hope. At least for now, these parasites are no match for us, and they donʼt have any strange abilities.”

Upon hearing this, White Robe also laughed. This counted as finding joy in the midst of hardship.

”Both of you, come look at this,” Jie Su said from not far away. He had relatively more energy, so he had been exploring the vicinity.

The two immediately stood up and went to Jie Suʼs side.

Only then did they realize that at the end of this passage, there was no more path. Jie Su was standing at the edge of the passage, holding a light ball and looking down.

The three stuck together and saw by the light that ahead was a huge space. After they threw a light ball down, using the illumination from its fall, they saw that this place was like an elliptical egg. Countless passages connected to this space; their passage was just one unremarkable one, located in the middle of the space.

What drew their attention the most was at the bottom of this giant space. There was a very obvious man-made trace. It looked like eight tall, arcing metal pillars standing there, all facing the same direction. Beneath these pillars, there was a platform made of a material they could not yet identify. On the platformʼs surface, something seemed to be flash with faint light, like breathing!
