Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2153: Blood Battlefield (6)

Regarding the use of things like poison, Ye Zhongming had not paid it much attention. On Earth, at his level, there was basically no poison that could cause him fatal harm. After arriving in the universe of myriad races, he discovered that when his own strength was far too inferior compared to these beings who had lived in the sky for who knows how many years, poison was also a good thing to make up for the gap between them.

At the very least, it was useful.

The reason the poison on Earth was ineffective was that the strength of the lifeforms that produced the poison was insufficient, which was why it had no effect on Ye Zhongming.

But in the vast universe, the types and strengths of lifeforms were far beyond what Earth could compare to. The poisonous animals and plants here were naturally not those on Earth; they all had great ‘poison.’

Ye Zhongming had collected quite a bit and used it to refine the round balls attached to the stacked bow, creating the current effect.

For many enormous mutated lifeforms, even if they were pierced or penetrated by the short needles from the explosion of a metal ball about one centimeter in size, as long as it wasn’t a vital area, the actual harm to them was not great. In fact, if it hit a less important part of the body, their combat effectiveness might not even be affected.

But it was different if poison was attached. Even without hitting a vital area, it was enough to cause poisoning effects in the mutated lifeforms.

As for poisons that cause death within seconds, Ye Zhongming had not yet been able to obtain such potent venom, but the poison he used still caused the bodies of the injured Heavy Hammer Apes to begin rotting, their vitality rapidly draining away.

In the food chain system of mutated lifeforms, these injured and fallen Heavy Hammer Apes, whether dead or not, were effectively no different from being dead.

The power generated by the stacked bow was too great, significantly expanding the range of the short needles after the metal balls exploded. The Heavy Hammer Apes standing at the front, who had already completed their berserk transformation, fell in droves, and their charge, which had been poised to strike, came to an abrupt halt.
The onlookers now understood why Ye Zhongming had remained silent about the retreat order: he had a contingency plan.

The others, watching the mutated lifeform army in chaos below, naturally felt immense admiration for Ye Zhongming, and their shock was obvious.

But those who knew Ye Zhongming well, especially the Star-Eye Clan, knew that Ye Zhongming had actually not had much preparation time. That he could produce so many metal balls in such a short period made it hard for them to imagine what level his craftsmanship skill had already reached.

Among the Talos Red Dwarves, the topmost craftsman was called a God Smith. Ye Zhongming was certainly not that now, but was he already very close to that level?

“Retreat.”

Ye Zhongming gave the order, issuing the command to withdraw to the First Squad.

He had done basically everything he could. Beyond that, his role was not much different from that of the other warriors.

All the warriors of the First Squad began to abandon the first line of defense, though many felt deeply unwilling.

They hadn’t even truly engaged in battle yet—how could they retreat! But Ye Zhongming understood that under the current circumstances, Star Lord’s judgment was correct. If they didn’t withdraw in time, they would lose the chance to retreat later.

The First Squad quickly fell back behind the third line of defense.

“Zhongming?”

Seeing that the First Squad had stopped moving, Lord Star quickly asked.

“We’ll assist in the defense here.”

Those stationed here were all from the First Regiment, so it was reasonable for Ye Zhongming to stay, after all, he was the commander of the First Regiment.

“Well…”

Star Lord wanted to say that if the situation turned bad, they should pull back, but on the public channel, such words were hard to utter, so he could only tell Ye Zhongming to be careful.

Suffering repeated setbacks had plunged the mutated lifeform army into a state of agitation.

The first to become enraged was the Multi-Armed Wild Man Demon.

Its legs were rotting due to poison, but because its level was high and its strength great, the decay was controllable. Still, this also affected its movement.

It had never been an agile lifeform to begin with.

Having been constantly defending against the attacks of the Kepaisi Sky Cover, it let out a tremendous roar in the direction of Ye Zhongming. The shockwave was almost strong enough to blow away the corpses of mutated lifeforms around it.

The people of the Small Races Alliance suddenly grew tense.

The lifeforms that had attacked earlier, whether the Fierce-Tusked Heavy-Hide Beasts, the Heavy Hammer Apes, or the Feather Kong in the air, were not particularly powerful beings. If they were alone, a mature warrior from a small race would have had no trouble handling them one-on-one.

But the Multi-Armed Wild Man Demon was different. This creature was a super level-nine lifeform. Once it started fighting, the destruction it could cause was unimaginable.

After roaring, three pairs of the Multi-Armed Wild Man Demon’s arms moved. The huge logs it had been holding were hurled directly. Four of them were aimed at the Kepaisi Sky Cover, while the other two—one smashed toward the second line of defense, and the other toward where Ye Zhongming was standing.

The Multi-Armed Wild Man Demon harbored intense hatred for the man who had caused so many troubles.

The Kepaisi Sky Cover had no defensive capabilities like energy shields; its defense relied entirely on substituting attack for defense.

The detectors spotted the four incoming logs, and those beams immediately turned to target them.

Wood chips flew through the air, affecting not only the flying lifeforms above but also the myriad races of the universe on the ground.

The defenders on the second line of defense also unleashed their skills to meet the logs.

Ye Zhongming noticed the attack heading for him immediately, but he couldn’t dodge. He couldn’t abandon the defense line, nor could he let others take the attack in his place.

The Cloud Peak King waved his hand. A mountain peak not too far away was pulled from the ground, flew over the mutated lifeform camp in an extremely short time, and descended toward the Multi-Armed Wild Man Demon. During this process, the mountain gradually transformed into a giant stone ape!

Mountain Becomes Ape!

The ability of the Mountain King’s Crown was activated.

The Multi-Armed Wild Man Demon, which had been about to continue its attack, had to stop and look up to face the suddenly appeared enemy.

The giant mountain ape’s foot stomped toward the target. The latter swung its two logs, and the two sides clashed in midair for the first time.

After Ye Zhongming used his ability to distract the Multi-Armed Wild Man Demon, he still had to deal with the incoming log. The first to appear was the Mountain-Crushing Shadow. The giant shadow of a mountain descended from the sky and struck the log squarely. With a loud bang, the log’s direction changed, while the mountain shadow itself shattered directly into nothingness.

The several hundred warriors beside Ye Zhongming raised their weapons in unison, bombarding the log with abilities and long-range attacks. The Cloud Peak King also moved. He suddenly broke into a run, stepped onto a shield warrior’s large shield, and launched himself into the air. His right arm swung back, then punched forward violently, meeting the log head-on in midair.
