Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2155: Fighting for love

Under one mountain peak, three figures slowly revealed their shadows; they were Ye Zhongming, Jie Su, and White Robe.

White Robe first vigilantly scanned the surrounding area, then sat down on the ground with slight relief and said softly, ”That was torturous to death.”

The array disk that had directly teleported them from the Overlapping Water Dead Zone to the Black Book Absolute Peak was one of the few finished equipment items Ye Zhongming had obtained from the Library Palace. It was an improvement by the Library Scholars to the ancient teleportation array at the entrance to the Library Palace.

It could be used for long-distance teleportation on a single planet.

However, spatial ability had always been the most difficult among the abilities mastered by all living beings. Even the Library Scholars, despite their accumulated research over generations, had only managed to create a teleportation array disk with ʼdefectsʼ.

It was said to have defects because there were two types of this array disk. One type was what Ye Zhongming and the others had just used, capable of long-distance teleportation on a planet. Although the distance was still limited, on the equator of a planet as large as this one, which was considered a major planet in the universe, three array disks were enough to teleport around it.

When used, a terminal would assist, and after inputting a map, the teleportation distance and position could be set.

However, it not only consumed an enormous amount of energy but was also single-use.

Yes, this item, which cost as much as a million Moonspan Gold to manufacture and also consumed a million Moonspan Gold per use, was single-use!

Moreover, because the cost of manufacturing the array disk was so high, the number of living beings that could be teleported could not be too large; otherwise, both manufacturing and consumption costs would rise exponentially.
The cost of two hundred thousand for one teleportation earlier referred to the cost of the teleportation array disk for three people. If increased to four people, the cost would directly skyrocket by two hundred thousand, reaching four hundred thousand.

Even for Ye Zhongming, this was a luxury item, unusable except in critical moments.

Furthermore, although he knew the method for manufacturing this teleportation array disk, it was useless. He had not yet mastered spatial technology, and Ye Zhongming could not manufacture this type of array disk at the time. The only two long-distance teleportation array disks he had were given to him by the Library Palace.

The other type of spatial array disk could be used multiple times, but the teleportation distance was very short. Despite repeated efforts by the Library Scholars, the maximum distance they could achieve was only about a hundred kilometers.

Of course, this type of array disk had two modes: one was ʼguidedʼ teleportation, which consumed a large amount of energy like the long-distance type, and the other was ʼpoint-to-pointʼ teleportation between two array disks. The latter consumed much less energy, but naturally required the array disk to be taken to the teleportation location and installed in advance.

The second type of teleportation array disk could handle a much larger number of people or items for teleportation compared to the first type.

Ye Zhongming and the others were all using this type of array disk for the first time. Although the Library Scholars repeatedly assured them of its safety, so Ye Zhongming did not worry about the possibility of failure; they did not mention the sensations during the teleportation. After the three experienced it, they simply… hated it deeply.

It was too uncomfortable. Not only did their bodies feel as if they were being torn apart, but they also experienced symptoms like dizziness, weightlessness, and loss of control over their bodies. If the process had not lasted only a few seconds, they would have felt like dying.

After recovering slightly for a while, Jie Su looked at Ye Zhongming and said, ”Since you have decided to act at this time, you must have a plan, right?”

Ye Zhongming nodded, then shook his head.

”There is a plan, but it requires a certain amount of luck.”

……………………

With a loud bang, a super level-nine three-headed wind sparrow crashed heavily onto the ground, smashing a large pit there.

”Your Highness, did you see clearly?”

A middle-aged man landed on the three-headed wind sparrow, looking at Zimu with a calm expression.

”Strength is in your own hands, but how do you use it? As everyone says, by stimulating it through the essence meridians and flesh within your body? No, that is only the most superficial method. The true activation of strength uses this place…”

This middle-aged man pointed to his own head.

”Your strength is already among the best of the younger generation, but you need to understand one thing: the reason you have been able to reach the top position among your peers is not that your talent matches your current status, nor that you have worked hard enough, but that you have an incomparable background. You won at the starting line.”

”Speaking of talent, you are inferior to your several older brothers, even more so to your fiancée, inferior to Jie Su of the Su Clan, and perhaps even inferior to your competitor from the small race.”

The middle-aged manʼs merciless words made Zimuʼs face flush red. Even though he had long learned to hide his emotions, he could not withstand being directly told ʼlack of talentʼ in front of so many people.

Without comparison, there is no harm; with comparison, the harm is as deep as the sea.

”No need to be embarrassed. Isnʼt winning at the starting line still winning? Isnʼt that the same with me? How many young talents whose fame far surpassed mine back in the day have I seen off?”

”You must learn to use your advantages and your resources. As long as you reach a position others must look up to, the process does not matter.”

Zimu nodded and then began to listen earnestly to this peak expertʼs individual tutoring. Others watched enviously from the side, and although they also gained some insights, since the teaching was specifically tailored to Zimuʼs situation, most of it did not apply to them.

”Understood?”

The middle-aged man tutored Zimu for over an hour before finishing.

Zimu nodded excitedly. Although the time did not seem long, he was not a novice beginner, nor was this middle-aged man an enlightenment teacher. What they imparted and learned was at a very high level. This material was enough for Zimu to thoroughly understand for several months, after which his strength might improve significantly.

”You can find some equally powerful and valuable living beings to practice with. In actual combat, your understanding will come faster. Now that we are in the hunting ground, it is an excellent opportunity for training. Have Ge Erhe and the others accompany you; you can go out and actively gain experience. Rest assured about matters here; with me around, nothing will go wrong.”

Zimu quickly agreed. He was also feeling somewhat eager inside; having learned something new, he certainly wanted to put it into practice.

”I give you this for self-defense. Our clanʼs master artisans made it. If you encounter danger, remember to crush it in time, and I will rush over immediately.”

After speaking, the middle-aged man nodded to Zimu and went back to rest. His strength gave him an elevated status here.

Not only here but even within the entire Huoʼer Star race, his status was extremely high—so high that he did not need to bother with a prince like Zimu, who had no hope of inheriting the chieftain position, lacked exceptional talent, and was destined not to join the ranks of peak experts.

But… if Zimu could marry Yisewei, that genius princess favored by everyone, and become the half-master of the super-large clan, the Sheke Star, then it would be worth his while to show some attention and invest in advance…
