Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2172: Fighting for love (19)

The moment to fight desperately had arrived.

White Robeʼs body tilted slightly, and the two curved knives in his hands erupted with blinding light, meeting the two thunderclouds. His attack speed was slightly faster than Zimuʼs. As the first curved knife touched the thundercloud, the second curved knife followed close behind.

After a brief collision, White Robe, contrary to Zimuʼs expectation of being pushed back, used some small tricks with his hands to strike the curved knives at the thunderclouds again. In a short period of time, each of his curved knives had launched two attacks, both targeting the same thundercloud.

The other thundercloud was left unattended.

The two sides collided and then separated.

Zimu looked down slightly at his right shoulder, where a crack had appeared in his Raini-grade armor. The transfer of force made his shoulder somewhat uncomfortable, but it was not a major issue, not even counting as a minor injury.

Yet it still made him feel frustrated inside. He was wearing Raini-grade armor, yet the opponent had breached his defense just a tiny bit with a Red Condensation-grade weapon. If word got out, others would not doubt the equipmentʼs hardness but would mock him for being useless.

On the other side, White Robe fared much worse. Because he had only targeted one thundercloud, the other thundercloud had smashed heavily into his body. Even with the insulating liquid on his protective gear, the powerful impact of Zimuʼs ability had caused him the most severe injury since the battle began.

Earlier, he had only spit out a small mouthful of blood; now, after being knocked away, he landed and had to spit out three large mouthfuls before stopping. The intense pain even caused him a momentary dizziness.

But White Robe quickly awoke and even stood up immediately.
Only one curved knife remained in his hand, and his protective gear was severely damaged, seemingly with at most a quarter of its durability left.

It could be said that this gamblerʼs attempt at an all-or-nothing attack had not achieved the effect White Robe wanted. On the contrary, he seemed to have backed himself into a dead end.

Mustering his remaining strength, White Robe threw the last, somewhat damaged, curved knife at Zimu.

The two were not far apart, and Zimu had not expected White Robe to throw away his only remaining weapon, so by the time he noticed, he could not dodge in time and could only use his weapon to parry.

The curved knife was broken and landed in the nearby grass.

Seeing White Robe in such a miserable state, Zimu finally showed a slight smile.

He first looked at the renegade dragon still hovering in mid-air, then at the area enveloped by the formation, and then said sarcastically, ”What are you going to do now?”

His answer was White Robeʼs action of shedding his protective gear.

”What am I going to do? Keep fighting.”

A brand new set of armor appeared on the Silver Order Leaderʼs body, and two long daggers gleaming with cold light appeared in his hands.

If it were not for the still faintly visible bloodstains, White Robe would now look like a warrior in full condition.

This time, Zimu was truly shocked, because everything White Robe was now wearing and holding was Raini-grade!

Zimu did not think the current Star-Eye Clan could provide White Robe with equipment of this grade, even if they went bankrupt.

Raini-grade equipment was not something you could buy just because you had the money. For equipment of this grade, the Talos Red Dwarves kept detailed records of each piece: who made it, who it was sold to—all of this could be traced.

Even if the equipment was later resold or gifted, the clear path of the equipmentʼs transfer could be traced, as long as one wanted to.

Moreover, Raini-grade equipment was rarely resold by anyone.

Then, where did the equipment on White Robeʼs body come from?

Zimu would naturally not think that someone had already broken the Talos Red Dwarvesʼ manufacturing technology. His first reaction was that the Su Clan was fully supporting this assassination attempt on him!

Only a super-large clan like the Su Clan could collect a full set of Raini-grade equipment for White Robe.

Jie Suʼs actions, it seemed, were not just to help a brother, but rather an embodiment of the Su Clanʼs overall will.

If that was the case, could there be Su Clan experts lying in ambush nearby?

Zimu was not sure.

Two swirling vortexes appeared in White Robeʼs hands, and the long daggers slowly disappeared into them.

Even though Zimu did not know much about White Robe, he knew that this was White Robeʼs signature ability: Hand-Eye Star Vortex.

White Robeʼs body moved, charging straight at Zimu, and the two sides started fighting again.

Lightning and light intertwined, the energy fierce and violent. The full set of Raini-grade equipment made up for White Robeʼs strength deficiencies to a certain extent. Although he was still at a disadvantage, at least it looked like a back-and-forth exchange, not the passive beating he had suffered before.

Both sides frenziedly used various abilities and techniques to attack the other. During this process, White Robe managed to hit Zimu fewer times and absorbed more attacks. He was even knocked to the ground twice. But he was like an unkillable cockroach, seeming unaware of the attacks landing on his body. Even when knocked down, he would immediately jump back up and rejoin the fight.

Zimu began to sustain injuries. Although none were too serious, the feeling was not good. With a huge gap in Furelai, to be injured by the opponent, if word got out, Zimu would feel too ashamed to show his face.

But no matter what skills or moves he used, White Robe always found the most correct way to respond. Even if he could not fully defend, he used his equipment and some techniques to minimize the damage received.

Zimu knew he would win because time was on his side. White Robeʼs tactic of trading major injuries for minor ones could not last long. His body would certainly collapse before Zimuʼs.

At this moment, a change occurred on the battlefield. The formation disappeared, and the situation inside reappeared in the eyes of Zimu and White Robe. Only one person was standing there: Jie Su. All three of Zimuʼs companions were dead.

Zimu panicked. He might not fear White Robe, and he had absolute confidence in defeating the Star-Eye Clanʼs Silver Order Leader. But if he had to face Jie Su, his confidence was not so strong.

The corpses of his companions on the ground also made Zimu know that this future star of the Su Clanʼs strength was higher than the rumors, and much higher. If Jie Su entered the battle, then failure would certainly be Zimuʼs own.

Jie Su took a step forward. It was obvious he was coming to help, but White Robe shouted him down.

”Iʼll do it myself!”

Jie Suʼs brow furrowed. He looked around, worried inside. After all, this place was not too far from the Huoʼer Star peopleʼs base. Every additional second increased the danger. Ending the fight quickly was the most important thing to do now.

Yet he still stopped. If he were White Robe, he would probably not want others to interfere, because this was a qualification battle—a battle to prove who had the right to stand beside Isewi.

Jie Suʼs appearance stimulated both sides. The lightning on Zimuʼs Spike Mansion Hammers blazed again, and White Robeʼs Hand-Eye Star Vortex was also brought to its extreme. The huge energy vortex almost covered most of his body, from within which the two Raini-grade daggers stabbed out eerily.
