Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2163: Fighting for love (10)

Zimu and the others quickly chased forward, but because the chief guard was too fast, they had already lost his trail long ago. Now, they could only rely on traces along the path to track him.

They were not anxious, because even if they lost the trail, the chief guard would return to find them.

But at a certain moment, a silver-white shadow suddenly appeared not far to their front-left, and the iconic figure of the renegade dragon came into their view.

The eight peopleʼs speed immediately decreased, and they stopped a few seconds later.

”The boss lost the trail?” a guard asked incredulously.

In their view, a great expert like the chief guard could not possibly lose the trail of a juvenile renegade dragon, especially since he was a great expert of the Huoʼer Star people.

But now, the renegade dragon had reappeared, yet the chief guard was nowhere to be seen.

”What do we do?”

The confidant looked at Zimu. With the chief guard absent, Zimu was the commander.

Zimu hesitated a bit.
Now, the tracks of the chief guardʼs pursuit were still clearly visible, but the renegade dragon had appeared in a different direction. Should they wait for the chief guard or change direction to chase the renegade dragon?

Zimu leaned toward changing direction. However, what if the chief guard had indeed lost the trail, gotten far away from them, and they encountered an adult renegade dragon?

”You, go and catch up to the chief guard and tell him the correct direction. The others follow me.”

After considering for a moment, Zimu made a decision. He sent one person to chase the chief guard, while the others would chase the renegade dragon. This was the best solution he could think of for the time being.

Everyone set off following Zimu, while the guard continued forward, following the chief guardʼs tracks. About half a minute later, just as he took one step forward and his other foot was still in mid-air, a cold gleam suddenly flew out from about two meters away from the guard and struck his supporting leg like lightning.

One of this guardʼs feet was severed from about one-third of the way down his calf.

A scream came from his mouth. This was his instinctive reaction, but he was also an expert. Even as he screamed, he realized he was under attack. His hand, close to the assassin who had launched the attack, flashed with light, and with a hong sound, a beam of light shot out.

At the same time, using this force, his body retreated backward. His other hand, holding a weapon, sent a blade glow, slashing toward the direction of the assassin.

The two counterattacks, one after the other, both occurred in an instant, demonstrating the guardʼs excellent combat ability.

The one who attacked him was White Robe.

In terms of Furelai, White Robeʼs strength was inferior to this guardʼs, even far inferior. However, the Star-Eye Clan excelled at assassination. White Robe had also obtained the cultivation abilities that the clan had been missing, brought by Ye Zhongming from the Library Palace, and had made considerable progress in the art of assassination.

Another point not to be overlooked was that after Ye Zhongming came to the Star-Eye Clan, he had raised the clanʼs equipment level by more than one tier. As Ye Zhongmingʼs good friend and lifesaver, White Robe was naturally one of those who benefited the most. For example, the short sword in his hand was a Raini Grade weapon. Otherwise, even if he had hit the target earlier, he might not have been able to cut it off directly.

Having succeeded in his strike, White Robe had no intention of continuing the pursuit. Instead, he lightly pushed off with his feet, his prone body gliding backward.

This move allowed him to dodge the guardʼs first attack, that beam of light. As White Robeʼs body was still gliding, the bladeʼs glow came. This one he could not dodge. He could only flick out a beam of light with his hand, then hold the short sword in front of him.

The blade glow instantly shattered the light emitted by White Robe, then knocked against the short sword.

The Raini-grade weapon had excellent toughness. The short sword successfully blocked the blade glow, but the force was too great, swinging White Robeʼs own arm back and knocking against his chest. His face flushed red, clearly indicating that his internal organs had suffered a considerable concussion.

Logically, this should have been the best time for that guard to continue attacking. As long as his attacks continued, White Robe would remain suppressed until he was killed.

Unfortunately, that guard had no time.

At the same time as he sent out the blade glow, a metal disk landed not far from him, and at the same time, a figure appeared diagonally behind him. The metal disk made a peng sound, and then the surrounding scenery changed. The guard was trapped in a small formation.

The moment the surrounding scenery changed, he felt his body grow heavy.

”Mud Elephant Swamp Formation?” The guard immediately recognized this formation. It was too easy to recognize and too famous. Among other things, the cosmic races had invited the Su Clan to set up formations for them this time, and the most numerous one was this. It could slow down the speed of unmarked lives that entered it.

He had no time to think about other things, because a chill came from behind.

The two soft swords in Jie Suʼs hand reached the back of his head.

The guard did not even have time to turn his head. Gritting his teeth, he awkwardly used his weapon to slash backward. There was no help for it: not only was he affected by the Mud Elephant Swamp Formation, but he had also lost a foot, making his movement extremely inconvenient.

With a dang sound, his weapon barely blocked the sword thrust from behind by Jie Su. But because he had lost a foot, the force of the collision made it difficult for him to stand steady. His body kept swaying, the result of his efforts to stabilize himself.

Unfortunately, Jie Su would not give him a real chance to stand steady. His attacks came in an unbroken stream, forcing the guard to only passively defend.

Jie Su was indeed not someone good at fighting. However, after learning the Following Formation, he had also begun to train in this area. With the guarantee of his high Furelai, his combat ability in this regard was quite good. Even without activating the Following Formation, dealing with this guard, whose Furelai was slightly lower than his and who was severely injured, was still possible.

In less than twenty seconds, Jie Su found an opportunity with his soft sword, slipping it past the opponentʼs weapon and into the opponentʼs throat, eliminating this problem in one stroke.

Jie Su ignored the corpse, put away the Purple Luo Zinc formation disk to leave no evidence, and then quickly disappeared with White Robe.

That guardʼs scream would soon draw the others back.

………………

The change in the Gold Soldier Killing Formation indeed caught the chief guard off guard. He did not dare to be presumptuous and directly used his special move, the Forehead Blood Method Phase.

Speaking of this ability, it was somewhat similar to the transformed form Ye Zhongming used in the Novice battlefield. The difference was that Ye Zhongmingʼs clones moved the same as his main body, while the four blood shadows of the Forehead Blood Method Phase acted as if they were intelligent lives, capable of acting on their own.

After the chief guard summoned them, they immediately blocked attacks from all directions against the main body. While blocking the attacks, they also kept advancing.

When the attacks of the golden-armored halberdiers fell on them, aside from being blocked by these blood figures using their hands and feet, many still landed on their bodies. But no matter which part they landed on, they could only create a string of blood beads, which would then return to normal in an instant.

Under these circumstances, the chief guard in the middle kept swinging his long daggers, destroying one ʼdirtyʼ golden soldier after another. With this attack of his, he was getting closer and closer to Ye Zhongming.
