Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Li Younan drove the vehicle to an open area in the outskirts of Xinduqiao Town, parked it, and then rode his motorcycle to pick up packages, bringing back two or three large cardboard boxes.

Liu Li was quite stunned when she saw those two or three big boxes.

She couldn’t imagine how that small dirt bike could manage to carry such big boxes, but then wondered: ”What’s inside these three boxes?”

Li Younan didn’t explain but opened one of the boxes first, then retrieved the toolbox from under the chassis and began modifying the vehicle.

The sounds during the modification were fairly manageable.

Liu Li watched quietly for a while, not understanding what Li Younan was doing. Perhaps she thought he’d explain it to her once he finished, so she returned to the room to prepare a meal quietly.

Her plan for today was to make a bowl of Italian pasta, getting busy afterwards.

Li Younan was in the cab at the moment.

The Unimog’s cab space was quite large, especially with a big space behind the seats, perfect for installing the two devices Li Younan had obtained.

These were two white devices, each less than 40 cm in height, specially purchased by Li Younan, called dispersive oxygen machines.

Earlier, when crossing Zeduo Mountain, Li Younan had been pondering this issue—carrying a portable oxygen machine with tubes attached was generally inconvenient.

Although Li Younan himself didn’t concern himself much about altitude sickness, having more adequate oxygen indeed makes the body feel more comfortable.

After waiting for quite some time, the two devices finally arrived.

Since the circuits in the front of the vehicle were all modified by Li Younan himself, he knew very well where to connect the wires.

The main units of the two dispersive oxygen machines were installed in the cab, with the air inlets directly connected to the chassis, bringing air in from underneath the cab.

Even when both devices are running at full power, the noise level is just 40 to 50 decibels, with thick soundproofing at the connection between the box and the cab, making it almost inaudible in the living area.

As for driving during the day, it’s not much of an issue; the engine noise fully covers this minor sound.

Having installed and secured the two dispersive oxygen machines, Li Younan proceeded to connect the lines to the living area, installing a control port each in the cab and living area.

The whole process was swift for Li Younan, taking just over two hours.

He dusted off his hands, turned on the oxygen machine, and then opened the door to return to the living area.

Each control port has an oxygen outlet, and Li Younan placed his hand at the outlet to feel the airflow coming out.

Liu Li tilted her head, looking at Li Younan with curiosity: ”What is this?”

Li Younan noticed a plate of mosquito coils on the table, picked it up, and placed the burning point near the oxygen outlet, watching as it suddenly emitted intense heat and light.

Removing the mosquito coil, the intense oxidation reaction ceased.

”Do you understand?”

Liu Li blinked, still looking confused: ”Uh, no idea.”

Li Younan laughed: ”It’s oxygen, after all, oxygen is a combustion aid.”

”This is called a dispersive oxygen machine. The principle is to absorb air, remove nitrogen from the air under pressure, leaving high-concentration oxygen, which is then released indoors through pipes, increasing the oxygen level in the entire space.”

Li Younan knew that Liu Li didn’t attend school after middle school, and although middle school chemistry certainly covered this topic, she had probably forgotten most of it by now, so he tried to explain in simpler terms.

Liu Li understood, asking: ”Are you saying after it’s turned on, you don’t need to use nasal tubes anymore?”

Li Younan nodded: ”Yes, you can understand it that way.”

Liu Li thought for a bit: ”Wouldn’t it consume a lot of electricity?”

Li Younan smiled slightly, having considered this issue long ago, and said: ”Don’t worry, there’s absolutely no problem.”

The living area of the camper is under 9 square meters, even combined with the cab, the total space requiring oxygen supplementation is only 20 to 30 cubic meters.

A model with a flow rate of 1 to 3 liters per minute is sufficient to meet the demand.

However, Li Younan usually designs with some redundancy; the combined performance parameters of these two dispersive oxygen machines reach a flow rate of 5 liters per minute and have two air outlets, capable of rapidly increasing the oxygen level in the living area and cab. Yet, the combined power is only 300 watts, and actual usage power consumption is around 150 watts.

Alternating the use of the two oxygen machines can also extend the product’s lifespan.

In other words, even with 24-hour operation, it would only consume three to four kilowatt-hours of electricity daily.

The vehicle’s electricity is supplied by a 50-kilowatt-hour lithium iron phosphate battery pack. In fact, based on the experience of living in the camper these past few days, Li Younan and Liu Li’s daily power usage is only about four to five kilowatt-hours, indicating an ample power supply.

Adding the oxygen machines would raise the daily consumption to about seven to eight kilowatt-hours, but even without generator or solar panel supplementation, the battery pack could sustain approximately a week’s use; thus, there’s essentially no problem with electricity availability.

Speaking of electricity and water issues... Li Younan glanced at the energy and water control hub.

Because it’s been sunny these days, Li Younan opens up the solar panels when the sun is particularly good, and the electricity is still more than 70%.

There will be more sunny days coming up, and the electricity used each day might even increase, and heading to the Tibetan Area next, the sunlight will become even better, almost ensuring an uninterrupted power supply.

Water consumption is also not as large as imagined; the two of them use less than 50 liters of water per day on average, with about 70% of clean water remaining.

By now, he and Liu Li have been out for a week. Apart from a small amount of water used for cooking, most of it has been used for showers. However, before setting off, Li Younan still emptied a considerable amount from the gray water tank.

Li Younan’s vehicle does not have a black water tank installed.

Generally speaking, motorhomes have three types of water tanks: clean water tanks, gray water tanks, and black water tanks.

The clean water tank, as the name implies, is used for holding drinking water, shower water, etc., clean water; the gray water tank holds wastewater from activities like laundry, vegetable washing, and personal hygiene, and this water can be discharged onto the ground without polluting the environment; the black water tank is meant for sewage formed from excrement, and it definitely can’t be discharged in places like parking lots.

In many places, motorhomes are criticized because the discharge from the black water tank is a huge issue; inconsiderate motorhome users discharge black water indiscriminately in places like parking lots or by the roadside, leading to a ruined reputation for the motorhome community.

After installing the oxygen machine, Liu Li visibly becomes happy. She strolls over to Li Younan, stares at the control panel of the oxygen machine for a while, then leans closer to the oxygen outlet and takes a sniff before nodding seriously: ”Indeed, there is an effect, I feel much clearer.”

Li Younan has a quirky expression and then lightly touches the control panel. With a ”beep” sound, a prompt is heard: ”Device has been turned on.”

Liu Li looks puzzled, and Li Younan laughs: ”While connecting the device to the AI center earlier, I temporarily turned it off.”

”Hate it, this makes me seem so self-indulgent.”

”Quite adorable.”

”Huh? What?”

”Haha.” Li Younan did not continue the topic and casually changed the subject, packing up the leftover packaging bags from the oxygen machine and bringing another unopened box to the table.

Liu Li asked: ”What’s this thing now?”

Li Younan put on a mysterious expression: ”It’s a toy.”

”A toy?”

When the box was opened, Liu Li saw that the so-called toy was a pile of components she didn’t understand, like lenses, motors, and bearings.

Li Younan said meaningfully, ”It’s a laser cannon.”

”A laser cannon? You mean like the ones in movies? A laser cannon? You’re kidding?”

Li Younan, however, said seriously, ”In principle, this is a real laser cannon, but it’s used to zap mosquitoes.” As he spoke, he took out the high-definition camera and played with it in his hand.

Liu Li’s eyes widened: ”A laser cannon for mosquitoes?”

This device was a gift from a college classmate, a set of hand-made, mosquito-zapping laser cannons.

After training, the AI can use the high-definition camera to identify mosquitoes and then instantly shoot them with laser beams.

Because the power is controllable, it only harms mosquitoes without damaging the surfaces they are on. With optimized code and trained samples, more pests can be targeted and eliminated.

The entire device is quite small, and once assembled by Li Younan, it’s just about the size of a computer tower.

This gadget isn’t particularly useful inside the living cabin, as a few mosquitoes flying in can be dealt with by an insect lamp.

However, when camping outside, this mosquito-zapping laser cannon comes in handy.

Li Younan proudly told Liu Li, ”The world of tech enthusiasts is full of wonders. You’ll see, this is the romance of techies.”

After finishing the upgrades on the car, Li Younan planned to drive into town, refuel, and buy some supplies to stock up the slightly empty fridge.

Although there’s still quite a bit of food left in the fridge, when it comes to things like this, Li Younan has a peculiar compulsion—having a fully stocked fridge and a full tank of fuel gives him a sense of security.

After learning about Li Younan’s little quirk, Liu Li showed a satisfied smile, clearly feeling similarly.

The two shared a knowing glance.

Pretty nice.

Once they replenished their supplies again, Li Younan was ready to officially start completing his checklist.

It’s now the end of March, and in two days it will be April. Although it was snowing heavily a couple of days ago, the sun has come out, and the temperature has noticeably warmed up.

Correspondingly, the cars of tourists arriving here seem visibly more numerous.

Li Younan’s first stop is Juli Temple Pass, as it’s relatively close to Xinduqiao Town.

Before long, the off-road motorhome carrying freedom and leisure was slowly and leisurely nearing Juli Temple Pass.
