Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

This off-road convoy has only five vehicles, but they’re all hardcore off-roaders: a Toyota FJ, a Ford Bronco, two pickup trucks — a Raptor and a Ranger, and one domestic car — a Tank 500.

Li Younan noticed their vehicles were neatly lined up not far away. After getting out of their cars, the people in the convoy started unloading tents from the pickups, showing signs of planning to camp there.

Unlike Li Younan, who stays directly in his camper, their mode is clearly the crossing mode that Li Younan has participated in before.

Li Younan did not take the initiative to greet them, and they were busy with their own tasks, with no intention of actively saying hello either.

At this moment, Li Younan started pondering other things.

More and more people know about the 318, but its image is becoming increasingly blurred.

The most distinctive and appealing feature of the 318 is that the road passes over dozens of mountain passes, each offering unique scenic views.

Nowadays, as infrastructure continues to improve, many tunnels have been constructed along the national highway, eliminating the need to climb mountains and passes.

The tunnel through Zeduo Mountain is currently being expedited, and from a certain perspective, avoiding the 318 now might mean missing these views forever.

The Gongga Mountain that Li Younan visited before is very close to Zeduo Mountain, which is one of the small peaks nestled at the foot of Gongga Mountain.

Climbing up the pass allows one to gaze from a distance at Gongga Mountain and admire its majestic peak.

And Li Younan thought to himself — since I’m already here...

Since I’m already here,

why not climb Zeduo Mountain too?

Once at the pass, the altitude is already around 4,200 meters, and it’s only six or seven hundred meters more to reach the summit of Zeduo Mountain.

For Li Younan, it’s pretty much like climbing a small hill.

But once at the top of Zeduo Mountain, looking out at Gongga Mountain, it provides an entirely different experience.

Just thinking about how last time I climbed to the summit of Gongga Mountain and experienced the view of the ranges from there, now getting a different perspective from Zeduo Mountain could, in a sense, make his previous experience of summiting Gongga Mountain more complete.

Considering this, Li Younan began to feel some excitement.

It’s slightly disappointing that Liu Li still couldn’t get out of the car.

Liu Li isn’t completely unable to leave the camper, but her body would experience somatic symptoms due to anxiety. Having a trusted family member nearby could greatly alleviate this sense of insecurity, which is why Liu Yu sent her to the camper.

However, if she’s alone, exposed in such a vast environment, it wouldn’t take long for her to feel anxious, have palpitations, or experience difficulty breathing.

Though he felt close to Liu Li, Li Younan wasn’t confident he could replace the spiritual position Liu Yu holds in her heart.

If he took Liu Li to climb Zeduo Mountain and she encountered physical issues during the process, Li Younan wouldn’t forgive himself.

So while he went to climb Zeduo Mountain, Liu Li could only wait in the camper.

However, it wasn’t a concern as Liu Li could operate the drone to accompany him on the climb.

Just as he was thinking about this, the off-road convoy had pretty much finished setting up camp, and the team leaders started preparing dinner.

At this moment, a striking young woman who appeared to be under thirty approached and initiated a conversation with Li Younan: ”Hey, handsome, are you planning to climb Zeduo Mountain too?”

”Yes, I am.”

”Hahaha, is this your vehicle?”

In fact, everyone here had noticed Li Younan’s massive Unimog off-road camper.

They quietly looked at the vehicle for a few seconds and didn’t express any desire to go inside for a tour. Instead, they asked, ”Are you traveling alone?”

Li Younan glanced towards the camp, observing that every vehicle seemed to have a girl with them, reminding him of the last crossing trip where, except for himself and Ma Jing, everyone else had taken a girl along.

But this beautiful lady wasn’t one of the accompanied individuals... She had brought a girl along too.

It didn’t seem like that kind of relationship, as they both appeared to be very straightforward.

In Li Younan’s understanding, usually, in those kinds of relationships, one of the girls tends to be quite handsome.

Of course, this impression might be rather stereotypical.

Li Younan cast these mixed thoughts aside and shook his head: ”With a friend.”

The beautiful woman laughed, ”Is she a girl?”

Li Younan nodded frankly, ”Yes, she’s a girl.”

The beauty gave a knowing, ambiguous look and then invited Li Younan and his friend from the camper to join them for dinner.

Li Younan politely declined on Liu Li’s behalf, but he went over himself.

Traveling is great for opportunities to interact with others, and one of the purposes of travel is meeting all sorts of interesting people.

Li Younan mingled with the off-road convoy, chatted with them, and got a good understanding of the basic situation of the convoy, quite similar to what he had speculated.

Three of the convoy’s vehicles were new to crossing; they had never tried it before. Having bought hardcore off-road vehicles, they were on their first trip to Zeduo Mountain, and their goal wasn’t to drive all the way to Lhasa. This time, they simply intended to reach Zeduo Mountain pass and then take a brief climb to Zeduo Mountain, hitting checkpoints along the way.
