Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

In fact, they hold a great sense of reverence for climbing this mountain.

They are enthusiasts of traversing, not hiking, although there’s quite an overlap, they are essentially two completely different groups.

Then they asked Li Younan some questions, and to his satisfaction, not one member of this group was his fan, or else it would have been quite troublesome if it turned into a fan meeting.

Li Younan simply mentioned that he planned to go straight to Lhasa via Route 318.

The beauty who had initiated the conversation with Li Younan earlier was surnamed Chen; she certainly wasn’t the organizer of this trip but was undoubtedly the most extroverted and enthusiastic person in the convoy.

At this moment, the leader of the convoy earnestly introduced the next day’s itinerary: ”Starting tomorrow, the altitude will increase significantly. First, we’ll reach Xinduqiao, and everyone needs to prepare in two ways.”

The first preparation is being ready for a probable traffic jam after reaching the foot of Zeduo Mountain; the road to the Zeduo Mountain pass is arguably the most jam-prone stretch on the entire Route 318, especially the section nearing the observation deck.”

However, what’s more important than the traffic jam is being prepared for high-altitude sickness.

As they started discussing the next day’s plan, Li Younan felt it was inconvenient for him to stay around and planned to take his leave.

At this time, Miss Chen warmly said, ”Handsome, it’s your first time on Route 318 to Zeduo Mountain, right?”

Li Younan blinked; in a sense, that was indeed true.

Seeing this, the leader also turned his gaze towards him and said, ”Young man, don’t mind me being nosy, but if this is your first time, I suggest you pay attention to high-altitude sickness as well.”

He then continued to tell the others, ”Overcoming high-altitude sickness is all about gradual acclimatization. For instance, today we’re camping in the outskirts of Kangding City at around 2,600 to 2,700 meters, get used to it for a night, then slowly ascend to around 3,500 to 3,600 meters tomorrow, rest for a while, let your body adapt, and then continue upwards gently. Rushing it can easily cause altitude sickness, so follow my pace.”

Miss Chen then said to Li Younan, ”Handsome, how about you join us tomorrow? We can look out for each other on the way.”

Even though he was touched by the kind invitation, Li Younan could only politely decline; after all, joining these newcomers would only slow down his pace.

Despite his polite refusal, some people in the convoy had peculiar expressions.

Li Younan could roughly guess what they were thinking, but it didn’t matter.

At this point, it was no longer convenient for Li Younan to stay, so he bid them goodbye and left.

As Li Younan walked away and returned to his RV, a middle-aged bald man from the convoy laughed heartily and said to Miss Chen, ”Hey, Sister Chen, you’re just like a dog meddling in others’ affairs.”

From one look, you can tell he’s a rich kid who’s never really suffered, why invite him? He might be complaining in his mind about you poking your nose into others’ business.”

The beauty didn’t get upset; she laughed and said, ”You can’t say that, we’re all out here, helping out when needed, that’s the spirit of off-roading.”

”Ah, times have changed.” The bald man shook his head and sighed.

At this moment, the leader nodded, ”Old Zhou isn’t entirely wrong. Many people think that just because they have a fancy car, they can go wild everywhere. The thing is, it’s hard for people like that to take advice on experience.”

Did you see his vehicle? An Unimog, not something the average person can afford.

In our convoy, everyone follows orders; that’s the key to ensuring our journey goes smoothly. If we recklessly let a stranger into our convoy, and he doesn’t follow instructions, it would be troublesome instead.

Hearing this, Miss Chen just smiled and didn’t say any more.

These guys, going off-roading for the first time, are wealthy and have free time, all divorced, each bringing a girlfriend, naturally enjoying some leisure time at night.

After dinner and some beer, everyone tacitly agreed on the next part; with the buzz, they told a few dirty jokes, and the laughter echoed through the night. Miss Chen, however, retired early with her female companion to the tent to rest.

The leader reminded everyone once more, ”Just as I said, tomorrow, I’ll take you on a side road to avoid the traffic jam, and you must follow my command, or it’ll be troublesome if you take the wrong fork.”

One more thing, while climbing Zeduo Mountain tomorrow, no one should fall behind!”

...

Meanwhile, Li Younan returned to his RV, and just as he opened the door, Liu Li stood at the entrance, wearing a thick down jacket over her casual home wear.

Li Younan closed the door and asked, ”What’s up?”

Liu Li lowered her head, as if she had been contemplating for a long time, then suddenly looked up at him and said, ”I... I’d like to step out, could you accompany me?”

Li Younan was a bit taken aback, so Liu Li continued, ”This time, coming out with you, I have a significant goal... which is to try stepping out little by little.”
