Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Li Younan didn’t dare make a sound.

Lu Xiaolan was also quite lively, taking many photos to show off to her classmates.

Of course, most of the time she obediently followed Li Younan, ready to run around and assist with endless energy whenever he needed anything.

Lu Xiaolan sometimes helped move things, sometimes helped wash vegetables, and at other times, under Li Younan’s direction, dragged a hose with a filter to the nearby stream, turned on the pump, and filled the vehicle’s water tank.

Li Younan intended to test the vehicle, so he tried out all the features.

Overall, due to his top-notch skills, every detail of the car wasn’t prone to malfunctions, but there might still be room for optimizing the user experience.

During this process, he actually found a few aspects that could be improved.

In the car’s cockpit, the vehicle system had naturally been upgraded and modified by him, yet occasionally while passing through some special road sections, the radar would automatically trigger the vehicle images, giving Li Younan a reminder.

The current Unimog’s cameras are many, but they are all for aiding driving, and therefore the layout of these cameras must be simple and clear.

This brings about a small flaw... which is the limited coverage of monitoring.

Additionally, the monitoring images can only be viewed in the cockpit when the engine is started.

And for outdoor activities next, this monitoring system is somewhat inadequate.

Li Younan then ordered a full set of 18 high-definition monitoring cameras, installing them at various angles of the car, equipped with infrared night vision capabilities, integrating all video streams into a central control system for scheduling, and with a single voice command, all 18 monitoring screens can be displayed on the television.

Of course, this program is also not available on the market; it was still programmed by Li Younan himself.

All the screens were connected to an AI recognition alarm program.

As for the AI model for alarms, Li Younan did not even need to develop the training himself.

He had many classmates in this field, and now all his classmates knew he became a super influencer. Upon contacting them, a buddy shared a trained visual model with him.

This model does not rely on the internet and can operate normally.

Thus, if sleeping in some wilderness area at night, even if something suspicious approached the car, those inside would be alerted immediately.

After improving the monitoring equipment, Li Younan’s inspiration was further sparked.

Since living in the wild, merely viewing the surroundings wasn’t comprehensive enough, especially on special road sections where the front situation is unclear; being able to scout could greatly enhance the safety and experience of the travel.

Li Younan then thought of the UAV landing device on the Yangwang U8 off-road version.

For him, buying a ready-made one was unnecessary; creating an automatic UAV landing and swapping station was easy.

No sooner said than done, Li Younan ordered DJI’s latest Mavic 5Pro and selected all the configurations.

The Mavic 4Pro has a maximum range of over 40 kilometers, despite the wilderness conditions with wind or signal interference potentially discounting this range, Li Younan’s visual scope could extend up to a 20-kilometer radius with the drone.

A large area on his vehicle is covered with solar panels, leaving ample space to install an automated UAV station.

Later, spending a few weeks, he modified the rooftop space to house drones and complete automatic power swapping, dividing control signals into two routes, allowing control in both the cockpit and living quarters.

Thus, Li Younan’s Unimog finally reached its full potential.

By then, only a few days were left until the New Year.

Originally, Li Younan had other things to do, like purchasing an off-road motorbike to hang on the rear platform... This task could only be done after the New Year.

...

This year’s New Year was particularly interesting, as he didn’t stay at home; Li Younan drove the RV and took his mother on a self-driving trip to celebrate Spring Festival in neighboring Xi’an.

The journey there naturally involved highways, so the off-road performance advantages of the Unimog weren’t showcased.

It’s worth mentioning that on the highway, this fuel-guzzler with consumption over 25 liters was surprisingly economical, with a range exceeding the previously estimated 2000 kilometers.

Since the entire vehicle body was crafted from aluminum alloy, it had significant advantages in weight reduction.

Moreover, Li Younan didn’t fill both freshwater tanks completely, as the destination was Xi’an and didn’t involve off-roading. Freshwater replenishment was easily available on the route with only 300 liters filled, and just half a tank of fuel.

Thus, nearly a ton of weight was saved, and the fuel consumption dropped to seventeen or eighteen liters.

Of course, for ordinary family cars, this fuel consumption is quite astonishing, but for a performance monster like the Unimog, this fuel economy is absurdly frugal.
