Bizarre Voyage: Summoning The Fourth Crisis

”This guy sure knows how to show off, fighting us with his hands behind his back the whole time...”

Li Miao remarked with a sigh.

He had to admit, the Iron-faced Warlock’s fighting style could be summed up in one word—elegant.

”So he’s another open-world boss that drops a special Fire Seed. Not bad, not bad at all.”

Li Miao nodded in satisfaction, then turned to Faraway beside him and couldn’t help but speak up.

”Hey Faraway, why don’t you swap your Fire Seed for this one? I think this Iron-faced Mage’s Fire Seed would really suit you.”

Brother Yu nodded in agreement as well.

If Faraway could fuse with the Iron-faced Mage’s Fire Seed, Li Miao couldn’t imagine how high his cool factor would be in a fight.

”The Flower of Drowning is very useful.”

Faraway found it a little strange that they were so obsessed with appearances.

Whether something was ugly or not was secondary to him. The Flower of Drowning could be used in the sea, and that alone was invaluable.

Hearing this, both Brother Yu and Li Miao were left speechless.

The Iron-faced Warlock was so stylish; if they weren’t playing as Knights, they’d want to fuse with this Fire Seed immediately.

The group quickly cleaned up the aftermath, preparing to leave the Gulard Warship and return to Exile Island.

Crafty Frog, Venerable Lique, and the others even studied the ship for a bit, trying to sail it away, but they eventually discovered the thing was just a prop. It could only be operated when the Gulard Soldiers were present.

However, while cleaning up the battlefield, Li Miao made a new discovery.

”There’s a Treasure Chest here! We should be able to open it with the Key to the Iron-faced Mage!”

Li Miao’s eyes lit up, and he quickly called the others over.

[Iron-faced Warlock’s Iron Chest]

[Type: Item]

[Explanation: The Iron-faced Warlock’s iron chest. It might contain some good things.]

The game even provided an information window. It seemed this chest was indeed different from those fake ones on Exile Island; there were probably real treasures inside.

”Who wants to do it?”

”Doesn’t matter.” ”You open it.” ”You found it, you open it.”

Faraway and Brother Yu weren’t very interested, and Crafty Frog and Venerable Lique didn’t fight him for it, so the choice was left in his hands.

Seeing this, Li Miao grinned and rubbed his hands together, inserting the key into the Treasure Chest’s lock with a look of anticipation.

With a CLICK, the Treasure Chest opened.

”Holy shit, what a huge haul!”

Li Miao couldn’t contain his excitement.

”Alright, let’s go now that we’re done looting.” Faraway nodded and led everyone off the empty Gulard Warship.

They were all injured and had used up most of their Recovery Wax Blocks, so they naturally needed to return to Exile Island to rest and recover.

While they were resting, they took the time to inspect the information on the items they had just obtained.

First up was the most important item: the Iron-faced Mage’s Fire Seed.

[Fire Seed·Iron-faced Mage (Initial Stage)]

[Type: Special Item]

[Effect: After introducing it into your body and successfully fusing it with your Warfire, you can obtain a powerful buff.]

[Explanation: A fusible Warfire Fire Seed from one of Gulard’s Iron-faced Warlocks. They have sworn an oath under the Gulard Law; their unwavering loyalty and ruthless methods of execution have made them a name that strikes fear into others.]

The special Fire Seed from the Iron-faced Warlock was clearly biased towards Agility and Spirit. The new Talent was, naturally, [Law’s Blessing], and the Skill was [Execution Step]—a perfect template for a Swift Mage.

It was an almost perfect fit for Faraway.

So, after learning about the Fire Seed’s details, everyone simultaneously turned their gaze to Faraway.

”We’ll see. It’s not like we can respec our stats yet.”

Faraway remained as calm as ever. To be honest, he also thought this Warfire Fire Seed was pretty good.

’But the Flower of Drowning isn’t weak, either. It can float on the sea!’

Faraway, the pragmatist, was clearly indifferent to things like looking cool. If the Iron-faced Warlock’s style wasn’t such a good fit for him, he probably wouldn’t have even considered it.

Hearing this, the others didn’t press the issue. The game indeed hadn’t implemented a respec function yet, so he couldn’t switch even if he wanted to.

Next up were the Magic Battle Ash [Executioner’s Hand Blade] and the Iron-faced Warlock’s formal attire.

Not much needed to be said about the Magic; the Iron-faced Warlock had used it against them many times during the fight.

As for the Iron-faced Warlock’s formal attire, Faraway put it on without hesitation after they distributed the loot.

Because although the suit didn’t look like it had much defense, it was extremely tough, with Defense Power on par with Light Armor, and it also provided a minor speed boost.

”Hmm...”

Seeing Faraway in the formal attire, which revealed his tall and slender figure, everyone nodded in satisfaction.

Faraway already naturally exuded a calm and reliable aura.

The formal attire only served to enhance this quality.

But soon after, right under their noses, Faraway pulled out the Defender Captain’s Helmet and the Ghost Cloak and put them on. A flicker of satisfaction then crossed his eyes.

’Not bad,’ he thought. ’This way, I get the maximum speed bonus, plus some decent defense.’

Of course, that was just his own opinion.

In the eyes of the others, however...

it was like seeing a gentleman in a suit wearing an old steel helmet and a tattered, hole-ridden cape.

And on top of that, he would suddenly transform into a corpse-monster covered in hands...

”...”

It looked awkward no matter how you looked at it.

However, everyone was well aware of Faraway’s personality: practicality above all else.

Next were the items from the Iron-faced Warlock’s iron chest.

[Gulard Decree]

[Type: Special Items]

[Content: Clear out the pillaging fleets around Exile Island, capture the Pirate Captain of the Pillaging Ship alive, and deliver him to Aisamude to be judged by the Guard Law.]

[Explanation: A special decree from Gulard containing a special message, used as a means of conveying orders.]

”Looks like the holes in the Pillaging Ship really were made by the Gulard Warship.”

Li Miao recalled the Storyteller’s speculation in his video.

”Aisamude must be a place name, right? But what is the Guard Law?”

Crafty Frog mused, rubbing his chin.

Hearing this, the others also began to discuss it with great interest.

However, they didn’t have much information to go on, so they could only make bold speculations.

Faraway, meanwhile, picked up the weapon from the iron chest.

[Guard’s Lion-Headed Staff (Excellent)]

[Type: Weapon]

[Effect: Slightly increases the power of Gulard Law-type Prayers. Grants Faith +1 while equipped.]

[Explanation: The standard-issue weapon of the Gulard Guard Law. The craftsmanship is exquisite, and it shows some signs of use. But why did it appear in the private iron chest of an Iron-faced Warlock?]

[Banner·Guard Flame Assault]

[Type: Skill Book]

[Quality: Embers]

[Effect: Channel Faith to launch a fiery assault. Deals considerable damage and is accompanied by black smoke that can obstruct the enemy’s line of sight.]

[Explanation: Fire has always been a power sought by people. The Guard Law combined it with the power of law to create this practical Prayer.]

Clearly, one was a Faith-based weapon, and the other was a Faith-based skill.

Previously, there was only one Faith-based skill, [Storm Frenzy Fist], which almost no one used, and the Storm Finger Tiger was used by Warrior-class players.

Now with one more Faith-based weapon and skill, it was likely that some players might start experimenting in this area.

The group chatted for a good while.

Brother Yu glanced at the time and said, ”I have to log off. I have to get up early tomorrow to take my kid out.”

With that, he said his goodbyes and logged off. He was a little disappointed as he left because he hadn’t even caught a single fish.

’It’s all that damn Gulard Warship’s fault. It must have scared off all my fish when it opened fire!’

”Alright, let’s call it a day. We’ll pick this up tomorrow.”

Faraway also nodded to the others and logged off.

The two experts were gone, but Li Miao, Crafty Frog, and Venerable Lique showed no signs of logging off.

”Let’s go. Time to level up.”

Crafty Frog and Venerable Lique were still in their newbie phase. They had only been called in to help today because of the advantage their Frogman Candle Spirits provided. They’d gained a lot, but they still needed to develop their characters.

After bidding farewell to the two of them, Li Miao went to a Spirit Candle and entered a solo instance.

He planned to farm some Enhancement Stones inside the solo instance.
