Bizarre Voyage: Summoning The Fourth Crisis

Next, it was time to build the Sin Furnace.

[Anchor Island established. 1000 Wax Oil can be consumed to construct a Spirit Candle Building: Sin Furnace.]

[Proceed with construction?]

As Luo Ge confirmed with a thought, the Wax Oil was consumed. Under the power of the Spirit Candle, it transformed into a crystalline, translucent liquid, gathering in a mass before him.

An azure flame ignited. Within the blaze, ethereal lines took shape, and the crystalline wax rose to fill them in.

A moment later, it solidified.

What appeared before Luo Ge was a massive furnace. Its form was simple, even bearing the uneven pits and hollows of raw ore. It was clearly in an inactive state.

Beside the furnace was a forge constructed from a few simple tools, with a cluster of floating flames next to it.

If not for the occasionally flashing azure runes and the flame in the furnace’s center, it would have looked no different from an ordinary forge and furnace.

[Sin Furnace constructed.]

[Your Candle Spirit can now obtain specific items by killing certain creatures.]

[Sin Furnace · Tier One (Temporarily un-upgradable)]

[Functions: Reforge, Forge, Temper]

[Reforge (Available): Reforge damaged weapons or equipment bound to the Candle Spirit or yourself.]

[Forge (Unavailable): Forge special equipment by combining corresponding materials according to a schematic.]

[Temper (Available): Consume Wax Oil and specific items to temper a weapon, enhancing its Attributes. After reaching a certain level cap, specific items are required. Each tempering attempt has a chance of failure.]

The Sin Furnace’s functions were more numerous and complex than the Spirit Fire Port’s.

After examining it for a moment, Luo Ge grew thoughtful.

He then took out a Fishman Bone Fork from the Spirit Candle Space and, with a two-handed effort, snapped it in two.

Then, he approached the furnace, touched the central flame, and spent Wax Oil to Reforge it.

[Item selected. Reforging in progress...]

The next moment, the furnace’s flames surged. A searing heatwave rolled out, and an intensely blinding light erupted from the furnace’s mouth above.

The light gradually dimmed.

Molten metal, as bright as lava, flowed like a trickling stream under the guidance of the furnace’s fire—gathering, constructing, and then taking form.

Finally, it cooled into the original shape of the Fishman Bone Fork.

[Reforge successful.]

Luo Ge examined it carefully for a moment before putting it away.

The Sin Furnace and the Spirit Fire Port both had close ties to the Spirit Candle.

Therefore, if equipment bound to the Candle Spirit was damaged, the Sin Furnace could naturally reforge it.

However, based on the feedback from the Spirit Candle, the price of reforging was not cheap. The stronger the equipment, the more Wax Oil it consumed.

Next was Forging.

This function was temporarily unavailable, naturally because Luo Ge had neither schematics nor materials.

But with the appearance of the Sin Furnace, the Candle Spirit should now be able to obtain such items from loot drops.

The Spirit Candle’s drop mechanism, as Luo Ge saw it, was essentially ”capture.” It ”captured” things that should have vanished along with the dead monsters.

This was why most of the items monsters dropped were things players could see on them.

The appearance of the Sin Furnace was equivalent to the Spirit Candle evolving a new module, allowing it to capture new things...

Luo Ge pulled his thoughts back to the present and slowly walked to the elevator.

After glancing at the monsters in the Open-pit Mine below, he clenched his right hand slightly, and the flame-wreathed Broken Sword appeared in his grasp.

Then, he leaped down, plummeting rapidly.

BOOM—

In an instant, a massive object hit the ground. As dust flew, roaring azure flames spread out in all directions like a tidal wave.

”ROAR—”

The Gulard Soldiers and Exiled Prisoners, still fighting amongst themselves, froze in place. The next moment, they were swallowed by the blue wave of flame, its extreme Temperature extinguishing the last vestiges of their lives.

[You have killed a Defender Captain.]

[You have killed an Exiled Prisoner.]

[...]

The dust gradually settled, and the azure flames dissipated into the air, leaving only the ground littered with loot drops and Wax Oil.

The Warfire on Luo Ge’s body gradually Extinguished. As he stood, he pulled the Broken Sword from where it was deeply embedded in the ground.

Then, he began to pick up the loot on the ground.

[Acquired: Wax Oil x6]

[Acquired: Exile’s Garb (Crude)]

[Acquired: Unnamed x1]

[...]

After mentally filtering out the Wax Oil and other miscellaneous junk, Luo Ge quickly found a drop that was different from the others.

He wasn’t sure if it was because of the new type of drop, but Luo Ge felt that this monster had dropped a little less Wax Oil.

Of course, only those that had an extra drop would yield less.

’...I need to get that missing Wax Oil back.’

Luo Ge thought to himself.

Every monster killed by a player had to hand over a certain amount of Wax Oil to him.

So, if a monster’s loot drops increased while its Wax Oil drop decreased, he would naturally have to reclaim the difference.

After all, it wasn’t like he could just slice off a piece of the player’s loot, could he?

Having settled this, Luo Ge turned his attention to the item in his hand.

It was a cloudy white lump about the size of a ping-pong ball.

After sensing its purpose and carefully examining its appearance, Luo Ge mulled it over for a moment.

”Reinforced Wax Stone Tier One.”

Luo Ge casually gave it a simple name, since these things also had different Qualities.

[Reinforced Wax Stone · Tier One]

[Type: Special Item]

[Effect: Can be used with Wax Oil at the Sin Furnace to temper Crude or Ordinary quality weapons, enhancing their Attributes.]

[Explanation: The most basic Reinforced Wax Stone.]

In addition to this Tier One Reinforced Wax Stone, a Defender Captain in the Open-pit Mine had also dropped a Reinforced Wax Stone that could temper [Fine] quality weapons. Luo Ge naturally named it Tier Two.

After confirming its name and details, Luo Ge stored it in his inventory and prepared to return to Exile Peak.

Leaping down had been cool and all.

But to get back up, he had no choice but to obediently take the elevator...

Before long, Luo Ge was back beside the Sin Furnace.

He then began rummaging through his Spirit Candle Space, his brow furrowed.

’How is there not even a single Ordinary-quality one?’

’Whatever, I’ll just use one I made myself.’

Luo Ge searched for a long time but couldn’t find any weapons dropped from his previous monster kills. In the end, he had to take out a Longsword he had crafted himself.

[Longsword (Ordinary)]

[Type: Weapon]

[Explanation: An ordinary longsword.]

After confirming the information, Luo Ge went to the forge and touched the cluster of fire beside it.

[Consume 1x Tier One Reinforced Wax Stone and 10 Wax Oil to temper the ”Longsword”?]

[Tempering Success Rate: 99%]

[Place the Longsword and 1 Reinforced Wax Stone on the forge and touch the fire again to confirm and begin tempering.]

After Luo Ge confirmed, the cluster of fire he was touching began to move.

Firelight flared. The Wax Oil transformed into crystalline lines, quickly outlining an ethereal figure that grasped the nearby Forging Hammer.

Azure runes lit up on the Forging Hammer.

Then, right before Luo Ge’s eyes, it placed the Reinforced Wax Stone directly onto the Longsword and positioned it.

CLANG!

The Forging Hammer fell. With a flash of Firelight, the Reinforced Wax Stone instantly liquefied and flowed into the Longsword...

”...”

Watching this scene, Luo Ge fell silent.

’So enhancing a weapon is literally just hammering an Enhancement Stone into it?’

’No fucking wonder there’s a one percent chance of failure!’
