Bizarre Voyage: Summoning The Fourth Crisis

After placing his hand on the girl’s forehead for a moment, Luo Ge pulled it away, his brow deeply furrowed.

Because his physical body wasn’t present, he could only try to locate the soul he had sensed through touch in order to communicate with it.

But strangely, after touching the corpse, Luo Ge didn’t sense the presence of any soul.

In other words, it was just an empty shell.

’The soul didn’t remain in the body?’

’Then...’

He retrieved the dagger from the girl’s cold hand.

However, the moment the dagger was removed,

the girl’s body began to rapidly disintegrate, turning into a pile of ashes that scattered into the air.

”...”

’Did I just do something terrible?’

After a moment of silence, Luo Ge’s gaze fell upon the dagger in his hand.

It was an oddly shaped dagger, its entire body a bright, lustrous pale orange, like a flame.

Furthermore, the dagger wasn’t stained with even a single drop of blood.

After a brief inspection, Luo Ge quickly channeled the Power of the Spirit Candle, slowly infusing it into the dagger...

「A moment later.」

Luo Ge opened his eyes.

The soul... it was inside the dagger.

However, she was currently dormant.

’But that’s alright. The Power of the Spirit Candle can awaken her.’

Soon, azure wisps of the Power of the Spirit Candle, channeled through his Candle Spirit Body, enveloped the strange dagger and flowed into it.

Before long, a pure white Power of the Soul drifted out from the strange dagger, sketching out the form of a young woman in a full-length robe before him.

She opened her eyes and glanced around in a daze before her gaze landed on Luo Ge’s Candle Spirit Body.

Luo Ge was watching her as well.

Their eyes met. After a moment of silence, Luo Ge was the first to speak, his voice emerging from the Candle Spirit Body. ”Who are you?”

The girl frowned and shook her head slightly, clearly not understanding what he was saying.

Then, she clasped her hands before her chest and gave Luo Ge a slight bow.

A moment later, her mouth opened and moved as if to speak, but Luo Ge couldn’t hear a single sound.

’...Is she mute?’

Luo Ge’s brow furrowed.

But he soon had a realization: he could understand the people of this world because the Spirit Candle was ”translating” for him.

’If I want them to understand me, I should be able to transmit my intent using the Power of the Spirit Candle.’

At this thought, Luo Ge focused his attention on the dagger held by his Candle Spirit Body. He infused his question into it, along with the Power of the Spirit Candle, to transmit his message.

”Who are you?”

This time, the girl before him started, as if she had understood.

She tried to speak again, and this time, Luo Ge did not sever his connection to the dagger.

Finally, Luo Ge heard it... the first sentence from a normal person in this world.

”Hello, my name is Noxia.”

Noxia’s voice was cool and clear, yet her tone was surprisingly gentle.

”Are you... a Knight from Gulard?”

She seemed to recognize the Defender Captain Armor he was wearing.

Luo Ge did not answer.

Although he had finally met the first person he could communicate with, he didn’t let it cloud his judgment.

His wariness toward the young woman before him had not faded. ”Where are you from? How was your soul preserved? And why did this island appear here?”

At his words, a look of confusion flickered in Noxia’s eyes.

After a moment of silence, she finally said, ”I’m sorry, I... I seem to have forgotten so much.”

’Amnesia...?’

This was a frustrating development. Luo Ge had been hoping to get more information from the young woman.

”Then what do you remember?”

Noxia began to recall, her brow furrowed in effort. ”I remember... the Gulard Empire, the Eternal Holy Altar, the Primordial Fire, and... finding the Master of the Firewood.”

’Gulard Empire, Eternal Holy Altar, Primordial Fire, Master of the Firewood...’

’That’s quite a few keywords. Not bad. It seems she hasn’t forgotten everything.’

”Tell me about them, one by one,” Luo Ge said with a nod.

But Noxia paused for a moment, then shook her head gently, her tone apologetic. ”Please forgive my rudeness, but... Sir Knight, if you are unwilling to tell me your name, could you at least tell me what time it is?”

’Time...’

’How should I know...’

”I don’t know the time either,” Luo Ge said, shaking his head. ”But if you’d like, I can tell you my name.”

Disappointment flashed in Noxia’s eyes at his words, but she remained polite. ”I would be honored.”

”My name is Luo Ge.”

Luo Ge gave a slight nod.

After this brief exchange, he tentatively concluded that Noxia posed no threat; she was, after all, only a soul.

’I can establish some initial trust to get more information from her.’

”Mr. Luo Ge.” Noxia bowed again.

”This world seems to have shattered, spatially speaking.”

”So, you and I are both currently on one of these fragments.”

”The Dark Boundary devours all and blocks my path. You and this island came from that boundary, drifting into this place.”

As he spoke, Luo Ge pointed outside through a shattered gap in the walls of the Qi Xin Chapel.

Through it, they could both see the Dark Boundary in the night, a wall of nothingness that separated them from everything else.

”The world... has shattered...?” Noxia murmured to herself, her expression lost.

’It seems the world might have been whole before she died...’

Luo Ge wondered, and asked aloud, ”Did you know the world was going to shatter?”
