Bizarre Voyage: Summoning The Fourth Crisis

’I should find an opportunity to add the instance reset function...’

Luo Ge, observing in secret, had also heard Niuniu’s muttering.

As time went on, more and more players would surely clear Exile Island, and with that would come the demand to reset the world.

Luo Ge, of course, had to satisfy their demand... and collect a little ”tax” on the side.

BLUB... BLUB...

The pink Little Sea Snail in the seawater seemed to have grown more active, blowing little bubbles.

Also, according to the feedback from the Spirit Candle, this pink Little Sea Snail seemed to contain the pulse of life.

However, Luo Ge didn’t know what it would hatch into, but the day it would hatch seemed to be drawing ever nearer.

Shifting his gaze, Luo Ge turned his attention to Qi Xin Chapel.

Noxia was kneeling quietly beside the Spirit Candle, facing the cracked flame pattern in the center of the Qi Xin Chapel.

Her lips moved, and she whispered softly.

”O, great Primordial Fire... source of all life, pillar of the world, if you still burn, if any warmth remains, please dispel my confusion...”

”If you are already Extinguished, then please let your Embers grant me guidance, that I may find hope in this shattered world...”

She prayed for a long time, chanting it over and over, but received no response.

”O, flame... where... have you gone?”

Finally, her voice grew faint, her spirits sinking.

Luo Ge watched in silence.

In a world so filled with despair, someone like Noxia could only feel an infinite loneliness.

Before she died, the world had presumably been normal.

But after Luo Ge awakened her, all she saw was a shattered, chaotic world of despair.

She prayed to her once-great Faith, but her only answer was loneliness...

Luo Ge silently withdrew his gaze.

Perhaps it was an illusion, but Noxia suddenly felt the Candlefire before her grow brighter.

The warm Candlefire drove away the cold and embraced her.

She raised her head, her clear pupils reflecting the gently flickering Candlefire.

Looking at the Spirit Candle before her, she instinctively reached out, slowly touching the Candlefire and feeling its warmth.

A moment later, she withdrew her hand, backed up to the wall, and lay down on the floor. She curled into a ball, closing her eyes in the warmth of the Candlefire.

Outside Qi Xin Chapel, the low growls of Living Corpses still echoed...

...

”Aaaah~”

On the coast of Exile Island, Li Miao arched his back in a long stretch, breathing in the slightly salty sea breeze.

Beside him, Faraway was checking the Weapon in his hands, fully clad in a Defensive Medium Armor Set.

As for Brother Yu’s getup, it was a bit bizarre.

He was wearing the same Law Knight Armor Set as Li Miao, but he wasn’t wearing a helmet.

Moreover, while everyone else held a helmet, he had a fishing rod propped on his shoulder...

”Where’s everyone else?”

Brother Yu looked around.

”Brother Mangzi went ahead with Shore and Bu Long. Cousin Mushroom is getting married, Storyteller is still grinding Wax Oil to level up, and as for Guagua... her best friend just had a breakup.”

Li Miao rattled off the group members’ situations as if he knew them by heart.

”What’s Guagua’s best friend’s breakup got to do with her?” Brother Yu asked, a little confused.

Li Miao gave him a strange look. ”Brother Yu, you’re a married man. You of all people should know...”

”Don’t you know that a girl is busiest when her best friend is going through a breakup?”

”...Fair enough.”

Brother Yu thought about it. That actually did sound right. He seemed to recall his wife mentioning something like that before he started playing this game.

Back then, Sister Yu hadn’t called him for the entire day, leaving him free to fish to his heart’s content!

”How are things in the coastal waters? Any new bait or big fish?”

That was what Brother Yu cared about most.

Li Miao shrugged. ”The group chat and forums are all buzzing about the Sin Furnace. Apparently, it can be used for Weapon Enhancement, and a +2 gives you a whole two bonus Attribute points. It’s OP as hell. Everyone’s probably planning to enhance their weapons before they go exploring the coastal waters.”

”But...” Li Miao stroked his chin as if a thought had struck him. ”Someone did say a galleon has appeared near the coastal camp again. It’s probably Gulard’s ship, the one Storyteller mentioned in his video.”

”What’s so special about that?”

Brother Yu shook his head, then looked at Faraway.

”Faraway, are you ready?”

”Hang on, I called some other people,” Faraway said.

”Other people?” Brother Yu was surprised.

Just as he was wondering, two frog-headed players emerged from the patrol corridor. They looked like they’d only ever trained their legs, skipping the rest of their bodies.

One of them was, of course, Crafty Frog. The other player’s ID was ”Venerable Lique.”

”Faraway Lord, I’m here! This is Li Qun. We’re both newbies, so we’ll be in your care, great masters!”

Crafty Frog introduced himself with a smile.

He’d met and chatted with Li Miao and Faraway before; only Brother Yu, who was always off fishing and hard to pin down, was a new face. This introduction was really for him.

”Hey, Li Qun. I’m Hua Zi, and this here is Da Chongjiu.”

Li Miao stepped forward, shook Li Qun’s hand enthusiastically, and joked.

”Screw you.” Venerable Lique, who was clearly quite familiar with Li Miao, shot back with a laugh as he flipped him the bird.

The banter instantly broke the ice, and the group quickly fell into lively conversation.

”Here.”

Crafty Frog handed the Defense Greatsword and other equipment he was holding to Faraway and Li Miao.

These Weapons were, without a doubt, all enhanced. Faraway had prepared for this, asking Crafty Frog to handle the Enhancements in advance.
