Bizarre Voyage: Summoning The Fourth Crisis

”Alright, let’s see what this Fire Ignition of yours can really do.”

After checking his gear and Weapon, Li Miao held his head high and slowly walked through the fortress gate.

As the very first player to start the game, he considered his Combat Skills to be practically perfect.

On his journey, he had slaughtered Fish People, slain Sand Worms, and taken the head of a Defender Captain from amidst a horde of Gulard Soldiers. He was a veteran of a hundred battles, valiant and invincible.

He was certain that he could defeat the Law Knight before him and obtain its special Warfire!

This was bound to be a thrilling battle!

SHIIING...

The tall, burly Law Knight slowly rose to its feet.

In its presence, Li Miao seemed a full size smaller.

Yeah... basically the difference between a medium and an extra-large cup.

”This cutscene is well-made, very realistic.”

Li Miao limbered up, offering a silent word of praise.

He was still feeling rather confident, so much so that he had time to admire the so-called ”CG.”

But soon, he sensed something was off.

”Intruder!”

”ROAR—”

As before, the Law Knight used King’s Battle Cry to strengthen itself.

”Eat this!”

Done admiring the view, Li Miao stopped wasting time. He immediately activated his Warfire and hurled the Bone Fork in his hand!

WHOOSH—

The speeding Fishman Bone Fork tore through the air like a cannonball, heading straight for the Law Knight’s chest with immense Power.

BAM!

After the muffled thud, Li Miao froze, staring at his opponent in shock.

[Your Weapon, ”Fishman Bone Fork,” has been destroyed.]

With a faint SNAP, the Fishman Bone Fork broke in two and fell to the ground.

The Law Knight slowly lowered the Warfire-wreathed Large Shield in its hand!

The Gulard emblem on the Large Shield was still glowing, without the slightest dent.

And as far as Li Miao could sense, the Life Value it had lost was almost negligible!

GRIND...

The heavy armor grated as the Law Knight slowly raised its head. Beneath its full helm, killing intent surged.

The next moment, its Greatsword scraped across the ground, and a white Crescent Moon Sword Qi as tall as a man shot toward him at incredible speed!

Li Miao was startled.

But his reflexes were fast, and he immediately rolled to the side.

Luckily, he had anticipated the attack with his roll; otherwise, he would have had to gamble on the fifty-percent damage-reduction chance.

THUD THUD THUD...

However, the Law Knight had no intention of giving Li Miao a moment’s rest. Mere moments after unleashing the Crescent Moon Sword Qi, it raised its Shield and sword and charged toward him like a heavy tank!

Warfire blazed as dust flew into the air.

Even without using any Combat Skills, its aura was still terrifying.

”Holy shit!”

As a result, Li Miao saw the charge heading straight for him the moment he got back on his feet.

The distance closed in an instant, leaving him no time to Dodge in advance.

He had two choices: tank the hit or Dodge!

Li Miao chose to perform another rolling Dodge.

Mid-roll, Li Miao felt a surge of relief as the expected impact and sword blade never came.

BOOM!

Its momentum unchecked, the Law Knight crashed straight through the stone fortress wall behind Li Miao before finally stopping!

Such immense Power made the pressure on Li Miao skyrocket.

But he didn’t freeze. Seizing the opportunity, he swung his Candlefire Scimitar and landed a heavy slash on the Law Knight’s back!

CLANG!

The Law Knight’s body staggered slightly. Sparks flew as a gash appeared on its Knight Armor, which was now slightly dented. But that was all.

As far as Li Miao could sense, the Law Knight still hadn’t lost much health.

’This Law Knight... seems a little overpowered!’

Li Miao frowned and quickly backed away to create some distance.

But his opponent’s reaction was just as fast.

As the Law Knight turned its head, its Greatsword was already in motion. A Crescent Moon Sword Qi shot toward him from the hole in the wall!

Li Miao’s pupils shrank.

He didn’t have time to react. Though his body instinctively tried to roll, the Sword Qi still struck him square on!

BAM!

It felt like getting hit head-on by a speeding motorcycle.

Li Miao’s body buckled, and he was sent flying backward uncontrollably. He rolled several times on the ground before regaining his footing.

”Cough, cough...”

Li Miao coughed and quickly scrambled to his feet.

After a quick self-assessment, he was shocked to find that the one Crescent Moon Sword Qi attack had dropped his Life Value by more than a third!

’And he’d focused on his Constitution stat!’

’Why do my Combat Skill Attacks barely scratch it, while one hit from it takes out half my Blood Bar? This is ridiculous!’

As the thoughts raced through his mind, Li Miao’s heart sank and the pressure mounted.

THUD THUD THUD!

At the same time, as if it had pegged Li Miao as an easy target, the Law Knight charged again, giving him no room to breathe!

This sent a flare of anger through Li Miao.

’Does it really think I’m a pushover? So what if it’s a boss? Who cares if its Defense Power is high? It just keeps using the same old patterns! I can get back half my health with a single Wax Block. That gives me two and a half lives in total. I’ll fucking grind you down if it takes all day!’

Facing the ferociously charging Law Knight, Li Miao suppressed his anger and calmly began to change his tactics.

Though he had been overconfident at first, he was a veteran player. He wasn’t a glass cannon; getting one-shotted was practically impossible.

And so, the two of them began to clash, round after round.

The Law Knight’s charge was easy enough to evade, and as long as he was careful and didn’t slip up, its Crescent Moon Sword Qi wasn’t a major threat either.

The problem was, the Law Knight’s Blood Bar was just too damn thick!

Or rather, its Knight Armor’s Defense Power was just too strong!

Although Li Miao’s Attacks had some Effect, leaving gash after gash on its body, he ultimately couldn’t break through its Defense. It was incredibly frustrating.

After grinding away for so long, he hadn’t even chipped away a tenth of its health.

However, he soon saw a glimmer of hope.

”Hah!”

Li Miao roared, seizing the opportunity. Gripping his scimitar with both hands, he unleashed a Gulard Heavy Strike, slamming it into the Law Knight’s waist.

RATTLE... RATTLE...

Struck by the Heavy Strike, the Law Knight visibly faltered, staggering back a couple of steps.

The attack successfully knocked off about a tenth of its Blood Volume—a significant Effect!

”Gulard Heavy Strike works!”

Li Miao’s eyes lit up.

’I’m not afraid of a long fight, just one where I can’t do any damage. As long as it has an Effect, victory can’t be far off!’

But just as he was about to press his advantage, a familiar, draining sensation washed over him...

”Damn it! I’m out of Physical Strength!”

Cursing inwardly, Li Miao glanced at his wrist, only to realize with a jolt that his Wax Block was gone too.

He had used it all up during the lulls between his repeated clashes with the knight...

Just then, the Law Knight seized the opportunity, swinging its Greatsword in a vicious downward slash at Li Miao!

”The great Law shall not be defiled...”

[DEATH]

”Ah, for fuck’s sake!”

Li Miao slapped his thigh in frustration as he died. If only he had noticed sooner!

But he was also a little puzzled.

’They’re both Combat Skills, so why was only Gulard Heavy Strike effective against this thing? Something’s definitely not right here!’
