Bizarre Voyage: Summoning The Fourth Crisis

Of course, they traded for them using Wax Oil, spare equipment, and Battle Ash. It’s not like they were short on those, so there was no need to waste time on such things.

Even Brother Yu received a +2 Defense Greatsword.

”I get one too?”

Brother Yu was a little surprised. He took the Weapon and politely thanked him.

”Haha, Brother Yu, you should thank Brother Miaozi. He’s the one who prepared this for you,” Crafty Frog said with a laugh.

At that, Brother Yu nodded at Li Miao in satisfaction. ”Thanks, Miaozi. I’ll take you fishing with me some other day.”

Brother Yu was the oldest in the group. Before, he had also called Li Miao ”Brother Miao” like everyone else.

It wasn’t a big deal when they first met, but once they got to know each other better, it made Li Miao feel awkward. So, he just asked him to call him by his nickname instead.

”Don’t mention it. We’re all bros.”

’As for fishing... I think I’ll pass...’

Li Miao thought to himself.

After getting acquainted and finishing their preparations, they all stepped onto their Spirit Fire Rafts.

Next, according to their plan, they would explore the coastal waters around Exile Island together.

A short while later, they set off.

Faraway quickly laid out a logical plan for their exploration.

The coastal waters of Exile Island were much larger than those of Candle Island. A disorganized route would be confusing and waste a lot of unnecessary energy.

They didn’t have a compass, but thankfully, they had three important reference points.

Exile Island, the sun in the sky, and the junction where the coastal waters of Candle Island and Exile Island met.

And whether by coincidence or for some other reason, the junction of the two seas was exactly where the sun rose.

This allowed them to easily determine their position.

After simply dividing the area into four quadrants, the group began their exploration in the southeast.

Since Crafty Frog and Venerable Lique were new to the game, they didn’t have Spirit Fire Rafts.

But the Frogman Candle Spirits clearly didn’t really need them.

Besides, the scouting tasks Faraway had assigned them were underwater.

And so, the expedition team advanced in intervals. They would travel for a while, then stop and wait for the two Frogman Candle Spirits to dive and scout the waters below. Once the divers had a general look around, the team would move on.

The two Frogmen were very busy.

Faraway was carefully observing their surroundings.

Li Miao and Brother Yu, however, were getting bored.

Without a word, Brother Yu took out his fishing rod, expertly baited the hook, and cast his line.

[Fishing...]

”Hey, Brother Yu, is fishing really that addictive?” Li Miao asked.

”Nah, I don’t think it’s addictive,” Brother Yu replied casually.

Li Miao was speechless.

’You don’t think it’s addictive, yet you fish every day...’

Still, even if he wanted to help, there was nothing he could do. They hadn’t run into any monsters yet.

After thinking it over, Li Miao took out his fishing rod as well. He went over to Brother Yu’s raft and said cheekily, ”Brother Yu, can you spare some bait?”

”You go fishing without bringing bait?” Brother Yu shot him a look of disgust. After a moment’s hesitation, he grudgingly handed over a small lump of Ordinary bait made from Wax Oil.

”...”

Li Miao looked at the Ordinary bait in his palm, then at Brother Yu, his eyes wide with disbelief.

”Brother Yu, you can’t even spare a single Sand Worm Bait for me?”

”You’re a combat main, what do you need Sand Worm Bait for? Just use the Ordinary bait to kill some time, that’s good enough, right?” Brother Yu shot him a sideways glance.

Li Miao was on the verge of tears. ”Brother Yu, I just got you that Weapon! And you said you’d take me fishing! Is this how you treat me?”

At his words, Brother Yu seemed to realize he’d been a bit out of line. He hesitated for a moment, then painfully took out a Sand Worm Bait and handed it over.

”Alright, fine. Here, take it.”

’Sigh, talk about casting pearls before swine... What a waste...’

Brother Yu shook his head inwardly.

”Hehe, thanks, Brother Yu! Watch me reel in something good!”

Li Miao grinned, baited his hook with the Sand Worm Bait, and started fishing.

Crafty Frog and Venerable Lique had already surfaced once. After catching their breath, they submerged again to continue their exploration.

[Fishing...]

Li Miao and Brother Yu sat side-by-side, waiting.

After a while, there was still no movement from the water, and Li Miao started to get restless.

But just then, there was a sudden tug on his line.

”Got a bite!”

Li Miao instantly perked up and yanked on his fishing rod.

But an immense force was pulling back on the line.

It was so strong that Li Miao was even pulled forward.

”Holy shit!”

Li Miao was stunned. Refusing to be beaten, he began to wrestle with whatever was on the line, causing the entire Spirit Fire Raft to tilt.

The commotion naturally drew the attention of Brother Yu and Faraway.

Brother Yu’s heart skipped a beat. ’Don’t tell me this kid actually hooked something huge?’

But despite his apprehension, Brother Yu quickly put down his own rod, went to Li Miao’s side, and helped him brace himself.

SPLASH!

”Hey! Let go! Quick!” Crafty Frog’s head suddenly broke the surface as he yelled anxiously.

Li Miao and Brother Yu froze at his words, but they chose to trust Crafty Frog and immediately let go of the rod.

BAM—

The water in front of them suddenly exploded upward. A monster resembling a blooming flower emerged, and everyone’s pupils contracted sharply.

Its lower half was a mass of countless heads and corpses. At the very bottom, ankles were tethered to stones. The waterlogged, swollen eyes on the heads were filled with despair and terror, and each mouth held a glistening piece of Coral.

Above, countless blue-gray arms intertwined, like the final, desperate struggle of the drowning, reaching for a surface they would never find...

[Flower of Drowning]

[Tier: Embers]

[Level: 14]

[Warfire: Flower of Drowning]

[Talent: Powerless (Slightly weakens the Power of all life forms within a ten-meter radius.)]

[Skills: Desperate Struggle, Resentment of the Drowned]

[Explanation: To be deprived of life is nothing rare. However, their deaths were clearly not swift. The executioners used Air Coral to prolong the process, drawing out their agony for a long, long time... Their resentment wove itself into soil, and from the final despair of their struggles, the Flower of Drowning bloomed...]

Just like the Law Knight, this was a boss-level monster with its own unique Warfire!

”Damn, Miaozi, you really did hook something huge!”

Brother Yu still had the presence of mind to crack a joke as he drew his Law Knight’s Greatsword.

’Good thing he only hooked a boss. If the kid had actually caught a huge fish, then I’d be the one who’s unhappy!’

”Fuck!” Li Miao’s face went pale.

”AAAAHH—”

As the two spoke, an eerie, blue-gray flame ignited upon the Flower of Drowning. It let out a bizarre mix of groans and wails that washed over the group.

Without hesitation, Li Miao and Brother Yu pulled out their Law Knight’s Shields, shielding the other three.

But as the soundwave swept over them, both of them still felt their Life Value drop significantly.

”Magic Attack!”

Everyone instantly realized what was happening. Li Miao and Brother Yu quickly put away their Large Shields and pulled out their Fishman Bone Forks.

Meanwhile, Faraway had already finished charging a Blood Stone Burst. As the two men fell back, he fired it straight at the Flower of Drowning.

But in the next moment, something shocking happened.

Amidst its wails, the Flower of Drowning wove its hands into a solid barrier in front of it, simultaneously igniting its Warfire.

BAM!

The crimson energy exploded. The ethereal, blue-gray flame shuddered for an instant but sustained no further damage.

”This is...” Faraway’s brow furrowed, seeming to realize something.

”This thing can block Magic Attacks?” Li Miao was dumbfounded.

However, the Flower of Drowning did not give them much time to react.

SWOOSH!

The countless hands let go of one another, and the Flower of Drowning bloomed once more, possessing a bizarre sort of beauty.

As its Warfire flared, dozens of its hands began to extend unnaturally, lashing out at the group!

”Brother Miao, block!”

”You two, fall back!”

Faraway shouted, then pulled out his Rapid Short Bow and Poison Feather Arrows, drawing the bowstring taut!

Li Miao and Brother Yu had no time to respond. Wielding their Law Knight’s Greatswords and Large Shields, they stared intently at every incoming hand.

Instantly, the clash of Large Shields and the squelch of hacked flesh filled the air. Faraway nimbly moved between the three Spirit Fire Rafts, continuously loosing arrows. He precisely targeted different parts of the Flower of Drowning, trying to find a weak point.

”AAAAHH—”

The wailing sound rose once more.

”Use your Warfire to block it.”

Faraway reminded them in a low voice.
