Bizarre Voyage: Summoning The Fourth Crisis

When the joker spoke, everyone found it hard to keep a straight face.

But their attention was quickly diverted.

After the Fire Seed Fusion, Faraway’s form, enveloped in blue-gray flames, began to undergo a bizarre transformation.

Countless hands sprouted from his shoulders, face, and even the top of his skull. His lower body began to swell rapidly, extending into a mass of corpses and dangling ankles below.

In the end, Faraway had truly taken on the form of the Flower of Drowning!

The only difference was that the eyes of these corpses were not filled with terror, but were instead incredibly calm.

But... that somehow made it even more terrifying!

GULP...

”He really looks exactly the same? This is a bit too much...” Li Miao subconsciously took a step back and swallowed hard.

”Holy shit...” Crafty Frog muttered, stunned.

”Not cool, bro! You can’t be doing that!” Venerable Lique chimed in quickly.

”Fuck off!” Crafty Frog’s face darkened.

While they were talking, the Flower of Drowning shifted again, changing back into Faraway’s original form.

”The Skill that comes with the Warfire Fire Seed doesn’t take up one of the five Skill Slots.”

Over the past few days, as they acquired more Skills, they had all discovered the five-Skill limit.

And as of now, they had no way to replace their Skills.

They had asked the Candlekeeper about it, but he had said they needed to follow the Spirit Candle’s guidance, which probably meant the feature would be added later.

No one was surprised by this. After all, it was a test game, so it was normal for various aspects to still be under development.

However, Li Miao was already starting to worry about his Skill Slots, as he had learned many Skills recently.

After addressing that point, Faraway frowned at his own arm and shook his head at the others. ”Movement is a little awkward. And more importantly, this form doesn’t seem to be able to move on land.”

’Awkward is an understatement...’ the others couldn’t help but think.

’It’s one thing for it to be ugly, but it’s also this grotesque. The fact that Faraway can accept it is just ridiculous...’

But after a moment of thought, Faraway quickly added, ”Perhaps it can move on the sea.”

Without a moment’s hesitation, he plunged into the sea and changed his form in the water.

Soon, a Flower of Drowning was floating on the surface of the sea. Its petal-like arms swayed gently as it moved left and right at a slow speed.

”It does work.”

Faraway’s voice came again, and it wasn’t hard to tell that he was quite satisfied with the result.

Everyone was struck silent, unsure of what to say.

’As expected of Faraway Lord...’

...

Luo Ge retracted his gaze.

He also found it to be a bit of an eyesore.

The player Faraway was great in every respect, but for some reason, he gave Luo Ge a feeling that was a little...

Shaking his head, Luo Ge stopped thinking about it and continued using the Spirit Candle’s Power to sense the coastal waters of Exile Island.

The coastal waters of Exile Island were much larger than those of Candle Island, and they teemed with more monsters.

According to the Spirit Candle’s feedback, there was one other special monster like the ”Flower of Drowning,” for a total of two.

And besides these boss-level monsters, there were also some monster packs and a few ships.

It went without saying that Ordinary monsters could be resurrected.

However, monsters like the ”Flower of Drowning” were essentially ”reset” by the Spirit Candle, which was how they could be resurrected, though the reset time was quite long.

’Promoting Spirit Fire Port, world resets, Reshaped Body, Skill replacement... The weakness to dissolving in water can be put on the back burner for now...’

Luo Ge mentally listed the new features he needed to add for the players and felt a headache coming on.

’I’ll have to write another update announcement.’

...

Information spread quickly among the players.

After Faraway and his group discovered the first monster in the coastal waters of Exile Island, an art student among the talented player base quickly drew it and posted it on the forums.

Bees don’t like flying: ”My eyes...”

AlwaysSafe: ”Not asking for lewd pics anymore, pal?”

TheFifthMan: ”Nice. Already fapped. Thanks.”

Hook Literature: ”? Dude, you’re fucking insane!”

Iced Lemon Tea: ”Oh my god, if I have to turn into a monster like that, I’d rather not play this game...”

PantsOn: ”Right, right, you have to become a monster to play this game, every single player has to. We should all just quit this kind of grotesque game.”

ProfessorTurtle: ”Dude, your ulterior motive is so obvious it’s slapping me in the face.”

My hamster’s name is Guagua: ”This monster is so scary... (crying)”

Ding Er Xiang Dang: ”It’s hard to imagine what kind of mental state the Spirit Candle monster design team was in to create something like this...”

User1284674396: ”Already quit the game... Brothers, I’ll be honest, this game is great, but the barrier to entry is high. If you can’t handle it psychologically, it’s best not to play...”

Wangzai Milk Cow: ”If you put it like that, now I have to try it.”

The appearance of the Flower of Drowning sparked a great deal of discussion on the Spirit Candle Forum.

Among them were a small number of players who quit the game.

When Luo Ge used the Spirit Candle to summon players, he had actually screened for and targeted a specific type of player group.

This type of player, well... they were the kind who enjoyed a bit of suffering and had a strong stomach for this stuff.

That’s why most of the current players had no intention of quitting; they loved this kind of feeling.

But with a large enough number, there were bound to be some exceptions.

So, naturally, some did quit.

However, this wasn’t a big problem for Luo Ge. The queue of waiting players was growing longer and longer, and the Storyteller’s videos had even brought him a new wave of traffic.

So, if a player quit, he could just revoke their eligibility and replace them. It only cost a little Wax Oil and was no big deal.

...

After using the Spirit Candle’s Power to adjust some settings, Luo Ge turned his attention back to the Qi Xin Chapel.

Noxia had awakened. Her mood seemed to have improved, and she was currently clasping her hands in Prayer.

After a moment’s thought, Luo Ge teleported his main body over.

”Noxia.”

Luo Ge’s voice rang out.

Noxia lowered her hands and turned to Luo Ge, a trace of happiness in her eyes.

”Good day, Mr. Luo Ge.”

As always, she bowed politely to him.

”You don’t have to bow every time. I don’t know how to return the gesture anyway. Just be casual.”

Luo Ge said as he walked over to the Spirit Candle Plate and sat down cross-legged.

However, Noxia just shook her head slightly and insisted, ”You are my benefactor, and possibly the Master of the Firewood who will save the world. I cannot be casual.”

”...Whatever makes you happy.”

Since she wouldn’t accept it, Luo Ge didn’t insist. As for being the Master of the Firewood or whatever, he couldn’t care less.

”Have you remembered anything from your past?”

Noxia nodded, but her eyes dimmed. ”I’ve only recalled some unimportant things. The memories I feel are important, I can’t seem to remember at all.”

”Oh? Like what?” Luo Ge was a little curious.

”For example, various etiquettes and... singing,” Noxia said, pursing her lips.

”...” Luo Ge was speechless.

’That really is rather unimportant... I should just ask what I came to ask.’

Thinking this, Luo Ge took out the [Demon Summoner’s Notes] he had obtained when he created the Anchor Island and handed it to her.

”Demon Summoner. Does that ring a bell?”

Noxia took the Demon Summoner’s Notes with both hands, flipped through it, and began to reminisce.

Before long, her eyes lit up.

”Mr. Luo Ge, I do remember some things.”

”Tell me,” Luo Ge said with a slight nod. He had taken the time to read these notes carefully himself.

But frustratingly, the notes were written in a very strange narrative style. Some of the specious content made little sense to Luo Ge, perhaps due to some unique cultural aspect of this world.
