Bizarre Voyage: Summoning The Fourth Crisis

After making his preparations, Mushroom, wearing only a pair of shorts, walked toward the fortress.

The fortress wasn’t particularly large. The main gate was wide open, flanked by two burning Campfires.

After passing through a long, narrow passageway, Mushroom saw an open-air plaza ahead.

It seemed to be a ring-shaped fortress, similar to a gladiator arena.

The blood-red setting sun in the sky cast its light over the fortress, and a faint Firelight flickered from the surrounding braziers.

In the very center, a knight in black armor knelt on one knee, his back to Mushroom. With both hands on the hilt of his sword, he bowed his head toward the rear of the fortress, perfectly still.

[Law Knight]

[Tier: Embers]

[Level: 15]

[Warfire: Law Knight (Can be used for Fire Ignition)]

[Talent: Proof of the Law (Having sworn an oath before the Law, their mind is firm and unshakeable, slightly weakening the effects of abnormal statuses they receive.)]

[Skills: Gulard Heavy Strike, Crescent Moon Sword Qi, Law Oath, King’s Battle Cry]

[Explanation: Law Knights come from all over Gulard. They swear an oath under the same Gulard Law, thereafter becoming its staunchest supporters.]

”A Law Knight...”

”Can be used for Fire Ignition?!”

Mushroom wasn’t surprised by the Law Knight’s power, but when he saw the words ”Can be used for Fire Ignition” after Warfire, he couldn’t help but exclaim.

He was a veteran player, and he clearly remembered the two most important points from the navigator’s log in the Near-Sea Cave.

One was to ignite a Warfire, and the other was ”Fire Ignition”!

Igniting a Warfire needed no further explanation.

And now, he had actually seen the words ”Can be used for Fire Ignition” on the Law Knight’s information panel. This was undoubtedly a massive discovery.

SHINK...

It seemed to have heard the noise from behind.

The Law Knight’s jet-black, full-face helmet shifted slightly, and then it slowly stood up, Greatsword in hand.

Only then did Mushroom get a clear look at its figure.

It had a burly frame over two meters tall, clad in jet-black Knight Armor. It held a Greatsword in one hand and a Shield in the other. The face of the Shield was engraved with a triangular pattern formed by a scale and a Longsword, and its entire body emanated a heavy, terrifying aura.

”Intruder!”

It raised its Greatsword, pointing the tip directly at Mushroom, its voice hoarse.

THUD!

The next moment, it plunged its Greatsword into the ground, raised its Large Shield high, and roared at the sky.

”ROAR—”

King’s Battle Cry!

The illusory Warfire on the Law Knight began to blaze, and a mysterious Power enveloped its body.

The next moment, it raised its sword again, stomped on the ground, and charged toward Mushroom at high speed.

”Whoa, take it easy, man!”

Startled, Mushroom quickly started to run.

Although he had indeed come here to die, he at least had to get a clear look at the rest of the fortress first.

And so, Mushroom began a desperate dash through the fortress.

The tall and burly Law Knight pursued him relentlessly from behind.

Only after he had explored most of the fortress did Mushroom peacefully accept his fate.

[DEATH]

”The great Law shall not be defiled...”

Watching Mushroom turn into a pile of Wax Ash, the Law Knight sheathed its Greatsword, muttered hoarsely to itself, and returned to its original spot, kneeling on one knee again.

Mushroom paid this no mind.

He quickly flew back to the Spirit Candle to resurrect his body, then chose to log off and send a message in the group chat.

”Guys! Major discovery!”

...

’The Law Knight...’

Meanwhile, Luo Ge also retracted his gaze.

’This Law Knight is very special!’

’Its Warfire is completely different from that of other monsters; it’s quite unique.’

’If it’s killed, a Candle Spirit Body can draw its Warfire into itself, combining it with its own Warfire to obtain a Power far exceeding its original strength!’

’So this is Fire Ignition...’

This finally gave Luo Ge a deeper understanding of Warfire.

Furthermore, the Spirit Candle also fed him another piece of information.

Due to the special nature of the Law Knight’s Warfire, any given player could only kill it once within their instance of the dungeon.

This was because although the dungeon each player entered was identical, they themselves existed in different spaces.

And within a single space, these monsters with special Warfires possessed a ”uniqueness”—they could not be resurrected again.

However, this wasn’t a major problem for Luo Ge.

He could use the Power of the Spirit Candle to directly reset a player’s dungeon instance.

If the unique monster in space A was gone, he could just switch them to space B.

Of course, this would consume Wax Oil.

If players needed it down the line, Luo Ge would be more than happy to take a cut.

However, this also made Luo Ge ponder a certain possibility.

’Uniqueness...’

’Could there be a being that is unique across all spaces?’

Luo Ge wasn’t sure.

But he believed that in this chaotic, shattered world, anything was possible...

...

”Fire Ignition?”

Li Miao, who was taking a break, quickly saw the message from Mushroom, and his eyes lit up.

Brother Miao Won’t Fail the Exam: ”What’s this about a Law Knight and Fire Ignition? Give me the details, @Time to Eat Mushrooms”

Time to Eat Mushrooms: ”Go see for yourself. Enough talk, I’m logging on to get started!”

Seeing Mushroom go offline, Li Miao didn’t ask any more questions and quickly logged back into the game.

By this point, he had already farmed the coastal encampment five or six times, harvesting a large amount of Wax Oil, a random assortment of equipment, and three Battle Ashes.

But he still hadn’t gotten the equipment drop he wanted from the Defender Captain.

’Forget it, I’ll stop farming for now.’

’I’ll level up and go fight the boss!’

Li Miao rushed over to the Spirit Candle and began using his Wax Oil to level up.

Soon, he raised his Level to 16, putting the points into Constitution and Power, leaving just enough Wax Oil in reserve for Resurrection.

Ever since igniting his Warfire and advancing to the Ember Tier, the Wax Oil cost for leveling up had increased significantly.

’Exile Peak... I think I have to take the elevator in the Open-pit Mine to get up there.’

After confirming his route, Li Miao quickly ran through the large iron gate of the coastal encampment again.

This time, however, he delved deeper inside, arriving at the [Open-pit Mine] connected to the Exile Mine.

In the Open-pit Mine, the Gulard Soldiers and the rioting Exiled Prisoners were locked in a chaotic brawl.

Li Miao paid them no mind. After a quick scan of the area, he spotted the elevator entrance and sprinted toward it.

After clearing out the surrounding mobs and pulling the lever, the Open-pit Mine quickly grew smaller and smaller in Li Miao’s view.

With a CLICK, Li Miao arrived at Exile Peak.

Sensing someone’s arrival, the pile of black stones quickly coalesced into the Black Stone Gatekeeper and appeared before Li Miao.

”Writ...”

”Right here!”

Li Miao said, presenting the writ he had picked up in the jail, all while staring intently at the gatekeeper.

’The creature might say that, but who knew if it would actually recognize this writ? After all, its contents didn’t grant him passage.’

’If it didn’t, he’d have no choice but to fight his way through.’

”Pass...age...”

The Spells on the Black Stone Gatekeeper’s body flashed, and then it turned and left.

Li Miao was delighted to see this.

’Hey, it actually worked! What a professional!’

He had no interest in fighting the Black Stone Gatekeeper. The priority was the Law Knight in the fortress, so it was best to avoid a fight if he could.

’Ignoring the content and only recognizing the writ itself—the design of this Black Stone Gatekeeper is pretty interesting.’

’Guess that’s what you’d expect from a Stone Man.’

He quickly went to the front of the fortress and lit the Spirit Candle.
