[Initial Fishing Rod]

[Type: Tool]

[Explanation: A rudimentary fishing rod, but its quality is decent. It’ll have no trouble catching ordinary fish.]

”Alright...”

After crafting the fishing rod, Brother Yu let out a long sigh of relief, a smile spreading across his face.

He then crafted a few more pieces of bait before shouldering his new fishing rod and strolling contentedly out of the cave.

Li Miao, who was planning to return to the cave to recover his Physical Strength, ran into him. Seeing the fishing rod on his shoulder, he was quite surprised. ”Yo, Brother Yu, you crafted the fishing rod that fast?”

”Of course. How can a fisherman not have his own fishing rod?”

”Brother Yu, your skills must be amazing. Once we make our fishing rods, you’ll have to give us some pointers.”

”Nah, I just know the basics... Wouldn’t call it giving pointers.”

”Anyway, enough talk. I’m going fishing.”

Brother Yu, having crafted his fishing rod, was in an excellent mood. After exchanging a few words with Li Miao, he headed outside, humming a little tune.

Li Miao watched him go and scratched his head. ’Is fishing really that fun?’

They should be able to craft their own fishing rods soon enough. They could try it out then.

...

「The Beach Sand Worms’ territory.」

Thanks to the fishing rod recipe being unlocked, and even though none of the players would call themselves expert anglers, they all agreed that if a tool could be unlocked, it should be.

So, almost all of them had gathered here to farm the Beach Sand Worms.

Unlike the Fish People, who would single-mindedly engage in close combat to the death, these creatures were different. They mostly appeared in groups and relied on burrowing into the sand to ambush or evade attacks.

For players who were still new to combat, the worms were quite a handful.

THUD!

THUD! THUD!

”These damned worms! All they know is how to burrow! So annoying!”

Brother Mangzi swung his Wolf Fang Club, slamming it into the ground over and over. Sand flew everywhere, but to little effect, which made him burn with frustration.

As an avid melee player, he hated this type of elusive, high-speed enemy the most.

”Brother Mangzi, are you playing whack-a-mole?” Li Miao said, exasperated. ”Stick to the strategy we planned.”

The Sand Worms appeared in swarms.

Naturally, the players wouldn’t fight them one-on-one.

Players, who fought with intelligence, were without a doubt far stronger than the instinct-driven Sand Worms.

But Brother Mangzi always got so tilted by the worms that he’d abandon his position mid-fight...

”Oh, oh, my bad. I forgot.”

Hearing this, Brother Mangzi gave an awkward smile and said sheepishly.

”You and Guagua just focus on the ones that slip through. We’ll gather the materials as quickly as possible.”

Faraway calmly said, even as he thrust his Dagger through a Sand Worm attacking him.

Since this was a team operation, their goal was maximum efficiency. Practicing combat techniques could wait for another time.

Guagua and Brother Mangzi nodded.

Although their combat skills weren’t great yet, their attitudes were spot-on.

Under the guidance of the two veterans, Faraway and Li Miao, the group’s monster-farming efficiency improved noticeably.

Of course, killing Sand Worms quickly also meant the Sand Worm King would appear sooner.

BOOM!

With an explosive sound, the Sand Worm King burst from the sand. Its menacing mandibles aimed straight for the chest of Li Miao, who was responsible for pulling aggro.

Faraway reacted instantly, kicking him out of the way and saving him from the attack.

Otherwise, even Li Miao with his superior Constitution would have been heavily injured, if not killed, by that hit.

”HSSS...”

Seemingly sensing the large number of enemies, the Sand Worm King let out a screech, calling out all the remaining Sand Worms in the area.

It then burrowed back into the sand and began a new round of fierce attacks!

However, things were different now. After several days of fighting, Li Miao and Faraway’s combat skills had become quite polished.

This was especially true for Faraway, a micro-management player with terrifying Talent, whose strength had reached an incomprehensible level.

As several Sand Worms launched another attack from underground, Faraway quickly repositioned himself and, in an instant, locked onto the largest monster.

The next moment.

The Dagger precisely pierced the Sand Worm King’s body!

An angry, pained screech rang out. The Sand Worm King instinctively thrashed its tail, trying to break free from Faraway’s attack.

But Faraway had no intention of killing it in one go.

SWISH!

With a loud shout, Li Miao swung his blade from the other side, hacking down hard onto the Sand Worm King’s body!

That’s right, Faraway’s attack and retreat were all to create reaction time and an opening for Li Miao to attack.

And Li Miao, having partnered with him for a long time, naturally had that kind of rapport and struck without hesitation!

”HSSS!”

The Sand Worm King instantly began to struggle wildly, blood splattering from its wound.

After killing another Sand Worm, Faraway said, ”Brother Miao, hold it down.”

Then he turned to Guagua, who was tangled up with other Sand Worms, ”Guagua, get the last hit!”

Hearing Faraway’s command, Li Miao didn’t say a word and lunged forward.

The already heavily wounded Sand Worm King froze for a moment, losing its Ability to escape by burrowing.

”Coming!” Guagua’s eyes lit up. He rushed forward, let out a great shout, and stabbed hard at the Sand Worm King’s head.

As the Sand Worm King died, its body dissolved into Ashes.

However, the pile of glowing loot left behind where it died made everyone’s heart skip a beat.

It was the first time they had ever seen so much loot drop!

”Holy shit... Guagua, did you just loot the pants off the Sand Worm King?” Li Miao couldn’t help but laugh. ”Good thing Faraway had you get the last hit. With my bad luck, we probably wouldn’t have gotten much.”

Hearing this, Guagua didn’t act overly modest and giggled, ”Let’s see what dropped!”

This made his anger flare up. ”Hss... These damned worms!”

He immediately raised his Wolf Fang Club again and started furiously hammering the Sand Worm.
