Divine Level Witch Doctor

An announcement appeared in the most prominent spot on the official website for West Hua Medical University: ”Following a discussion between the university and Zhao Yuan, it has been decided that next semester, Zhao Yuan will teach the elective course, ’Commentary on Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory.’ Interested students can register for the course through the Academic Affairs Office’s course selection system.”

The announcement was immediately spotted by a sharp-eyed student, who took a screenshot and posted it to the university forums, instantly drawing a massive crowd.

At first, people were skeptical of the screenshot, assuming the poster had Photoshopped it.

”Zhao Yuan is teaching a class next semester? He’s going to be a teacher? What kind of joke is this!”

”Zhao Yuan might be a genius, but he’s only a freshman. There’s no way the university would let him teach a class.”

”Trust me, I’ve been around. This pic is definitely Photoshopped! If it’s real, I’ll streak three laps around the athletic field!”

Just as everyone was voicing their doubts, an official pinned post appeared at the top of the university forums. The content was identical to the announcement on the main website!

The student who had been doubted was thrilled to see this. He posted again, saying, ”Weren’t you all doubting me? Saying my screenshot was Photoshopped? Well, open your damn eyes and look at the official pinned post on the forum!”

They didn’t need his reminder; everyone had already seen the official pinned post. They were all stunned into silence.

Zhao Yuan is really teaching a class next semester?!

A freshman who just started is actually going to be a lecturer… ’My god, how many fucking levels did he just skip?!’

Shocked as they were, not a single person questioned whether Zhao Yuan was capable of teaching the course.

After all, from defeating Kobayashi Haruo and single-handedly challenging the Jinling Zhao Family to this unprecedented exam, Zhao Yuan had already proven his abilities time and again! Everyone believed that not only was he qualified to teach, but that he would also teach the class brilliantly!

After a brief silence, people snapped out of their stupor and flooded the university forums with posts, bursting with excitement and energy.

”My bro is on another level! A freshman teaching a class—even if it’s just an elective, that’s still fucking awesome!”

”’On another level?’ This is completely unprecedented, okay?! He’s Zhao Yuan, all right! Truly the pride of our West Hua Medical University!”

”Where’s that guy who was shouting about streaking? When are you gonna do it? I’m waiting to take pictures and videos to post on my socials!”

”Zhao Yuan’s exam paper already had me completely mesmerized. His class can’t be anything but amazing, right? I have to take it!”

”Exactly, I have to take Zhao Yuan’s class! Say no more, I’m going to register right now. If I wait too long and can’t get in, I’ll be beyond devastated!”

That last student’s comment was a wake-up call for many.

In an instant, students from every department swarmed the Academic Affairs Office’s course selection system, all trying to register for Zhao Yuan’s ”Commentary on Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory.” It didn’t matter if they were from related fields like the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine or the Department of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine, or from completely unrelated fields like Clinical Medicine, Dentistry, and even Medical Imaging.

Some of them genuinely wanted to hear Zhao Yuan’s lecture. Others simply wanted to be part of the hype and join the fun. And there was even a group who were purely in it for Zhao Yuan’s muscular, masculine physique… These people were hoping that Zhao Yuan might, in the middle of a lecture, flex so hard his clothes burst apart. That would be the ultimate thrill!

With so many people flooding the system at once, the course selection portal inevitably crashed.

Staring at the page that wouldn’t load, students flocked to the university forums to vent.

”Damn it, I don’t know what the hell is wrong with the tech guys the Academic Affairs office hired. This goddamn system crashes several times every course selection period!”

”It used to crash when there were tons of classes to choose from. Today, we’re all just trying to sign up for Zhao Yuan’s *one* class. How did it still crash?”

”Looks like way too many people are trying to get into Zhao Yuan’s class! All you little bitches, back off! Zhao Yuan’s body... I mean, his class, is mine! Don’t you dare try and take it from me!”

Over at the Academic Affairs Office, the person in charge of the course selection system was incredibly frustrated.

While ordering the technical staff to fix the system as quickly as possible, he was also ranting to himself, ”I get it if students from TCM-related majors like Traditional Chinese Medicine, Integrated Medicine, and Acupuncture sign up for Zhao Yuan’s class. But why are the Clinical Medicine and Nursing majors jumping in on the chaos? They don’t even need to learn Traditional Chinese Medical Theory!”

In the end, the administrator decided to set prerequisites for Zhao Yuan’s ”Commentary on Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory” course, restricting enrollment to students from majors related to Traditional Chinese Medicine.

They hadn’t set any restrictions before because they had been afraid no one, or too few people, would sign up for Zhao Yuan’s course. As it turned out, their worries were completely unfounded. The problem wasn’t that no one wanted to take his class—it was that far too many people were far too enthusiastic about it!

Thanks to the efforts of the tech staff, the course selection system was restored and brought back online.

The students, who had been waiting anxiously, immediately flooded the system again. However, those in majors with little connection to Traditional Chinese Medical Theory—like Clinical Medicine, Nursing, and Dentistry—soon discovered that while they could see Zhao Yuan’s class in the system, they were unable to select it.

Instantly, these students were furious. They either took to the university forums to condemn the decision or called the Academic Affairs Office directly to protest.

Their message was surprisingly unified: ”We oppose the university’s preferential treatment! We oppose this academic discrimination! We want to take Zhao Yuan’s class! What’s that? Our majors aren’t closely related to Traditional Chinese Medical Theory? So what if our program doesn’t require it? We’re interested, and we want to learn! What right do you have to obstruct our thirst for knowledge? What right do you have to stop us from learning?”

The situation escalated, with even the professors from these departments speaking out in support of the protest. In the end, the Academic Affairs Office had no choice but to concede and lift the restrictions. But by then, all the spots in Zhao Yuan’s course had been snatched up.

And so, the students launched a new wave of protests, demanding more spots be added to Zhao Yuan’s course. By this point, people from other medical universities, and even some doctors who had graduated and been working for years, caught wind of the situation. They all showed up, demanding a chance to attend the lecture, even if it meant just auditing the class without a seat.

Faced with this uproar, the staff at the Academic Affairs Office were at their wit’s end. They could only report the matter to the university’s president, Ma Guotao, and await his decision.

”So, Zhao Yuan’s class is quite the hot ticket,” Ma Guotao remarked, first taken aback and then breaking into a laugh.

After all, he was the one who had made the decision to let Zhao Yuan teach. The more popular the class became, the more it validated his choice.
