Divine Level Witch Doctor

His buddy heard Lu Ping’s words and said, ”Brother Lu, you’re right. That Zhao Yuan guy is a monster. There’s just no way we can compare to him. Actually, I think it’d be pretty great if you could become the number one person right under Zhao Yuan.”

”The number one person beneath Zhao Yuan?” Lu Ping was stunned for a moment, then fell into deep thought.

’That’s right. Zhao Yuan is like the sun in the sky—incomparable and unattainable.’

’In that case, I might as well be the person second only to the sun!’

’The top scholar, beneath one person but above tens of thousands!’

’Besides, the title ’the number one person beneath Zhao Yuan’ sounds pretty great.’

’After all, judging from this issue of the *Chinese Medicine* journal, Zhao Yuan’s performance in Basic Theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Medical Ancient Texts had earned the high praise and boundless admiration of a whole group of Great Gods in the medical field, like Xiao Xianlin and Liu Mingzhang! And with his skills in Acupuncture and Prescription Medicine, give him a little time and he’s bound to become a grandmaster of medicine for his generation!’

’If that’s the case, the title ’the number one person beneath Zhao Yuan’ would carry some serious weight!’

SLAP!

Lu Ping slapped his thigh hard and said excitedly, ”You’re right. I can’t hold a candle to Zhao Yuan. But that title, ’the number one person beneath Zhao Yuan’—I will claim it, no matter what!”

Many years later, Lu Ping would realize just how difficult the goal he set for himself at this moment was to achieve. But he didn’t think too much about it now. He quickly turned his gaze back to the *Chinese Medicine* journal and began to study Zhao Yuan’s exam papers.

This time, as he studied them, he became completely engrossed, utterly captivated by what he was reading.

And it wasn’t just Lu Ping. Throughout West Hua Medical University, everyone who had bought the latest digital issue of *Chinese Medicine*—regardless of whether they had approached it with curiosity, admiration, or a critical eye—became utterly captivated after carefully reading Zhao Yuan’s two exam papers.

Whether sitting before their computers or cradling their phones, they were all completely absorbed, oblivious to the world around them.

For a while, the university forum fell completely silent. No one was posting a thing.

Because everyone was voraciously studying Zhao Yuan’s two exam papers!

Meanwhile, physical copies of the *Chinese Medicine* journal were also delivered to subscribers. Every person who received the journal and flipped to the table of contents was shocked by what was listed there.

”What is this? This issue of *Chinese Medicine* actually published two exam papers? And for Basic Theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Medical Ancient Texts, no less? That’s ridiculous! Wait, and what’s with these articles that follow? Xiao Xianlin, Qiao Zhixue… These are all Great Gods in the medical field, and they actually wrote articles to analyze these two exams?”

Many doctors and medical students were taken aback by the *Chinese Medicine* journal’s bold move. Some of the more hot-headed ones didn’t even flip past the table of contents before dialing the journal’s editorial department to protest.

However, the reply they received was: ”You’ve only read the table of contents? Not the articles themselves? We suggest you read the articles first, then call us back with your complaint.”

So, the callers could only hang up sullenly and flip to the articles in question.

The moment they did, they were hooked—just as captivated as everyone else.

That day, every doctor and medical student who saw the latest issue of *Chinese Medicine* was floored by the two insanely difficult exam papers and completely blown away by the brilliant answers Zhao Yuan had provided.

No one questioned the *Chinese Medicine* journal’s decision to publish these two papers anymore. In fact, they all came to agree with what the journal’s editor-in-chief, Yan Shiyun, had written in the foreword.

”How could we not publish such brilliant exam papers? Years from now, when we look back, we may find that it was these very two papers that spurred new developments and progress in the millennia-old field of Traditional Chinese Medicine. And they may also have enabled everyone who read them to achieve their own new breakthroughs!”

”Yan Shiyun is the editor-in-chief of *Chinese Medicine* for a reason. He put it perfectly; it’s like he read my mind!” The very people who had called the editorial department to complain were now doing a complete 180, singing praises for the journal’s decision to publish Zhao Yuan’s two exam papers.

Their colleagues couldn’t help but joke, ”So, are you going to call and complain again?”

They blurted out, ”Complain? My ass!” but then quickly changed their tune, saying seriously, ”No, wait. We *do* still need to complain!”

Their colleagues were dumbfounded. ”Huh? You’re still going to complain? About what?”

”To complain that there are too few exam papers, of course!” these people said through gritted teeth. ”Why only the exams for Basic Theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Medical Ancient Texts? What about the exams for other subjects, like Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine Diagnosis, and Chinese Herbal Medicine? Those should be published too!”

Their words resonated with many others. And so, a new wave of calls flooded the *Chinese Medicine* editorial department with complaints.

Hearing the nature of these new complaints, the staff at the *Chinese Medicine* editorial department didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

’Why weren’t there exams for other subjects?’

’Zhao Yuan is only a freshman! What other subjects could he have possibly been tested on?!’

In truth, the staff at the *Chinese Medicine* editorial department felt it was a great shame as well.

Editor-in-Chief Yan Shiyun even made a special call to Xiao Xianlin, urging him not to forget to send them Zhao Yuan’s exam papers again next year!

As for the instructors of the other subjects, who had already been planning to follow the example set by the Basic Theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Medical Ancient Texts departments, they were now rubbing their hands in gleeful anticipation, determined to create an even more brilliant exam paper for Zhao Yuan when he finally took their classes!

It was a full several hours before the West Hua Medical University forum started buzzing with activity again.

This time, no one was questioning Zhao Yuan. More importantly, no one dared to slander him.

Everyone was worshiping him!

”Zhao Yuan, I kneel before you. You’re just too incredible!”

”This is the first time I’ve ever seen an exam paper published in *Chinese Medicine*! You didn’t just set a precedent; you turned this entire issue into your own personal special edition! Even famous figures like Xiao Xianlin and Qiao Zhixue are just there to back you up! It’s absolutely unprecedented!”

”More than unprecedented—something like this will likely never happen again!”

”Zhao Yuan, I was wrong. I shouldn’t have listened to the rumors and questioned you, let alone gone from being a fan to a hater. I’m here to apologize. I swear I will never doubt you again. Because you... you’re not even human!”

”I agree with the poster above. Zhao Yuan isn’t human. The guy’s just too damn awesome, too god-like!”

Seeing the tide of public opinion turn, President Ma Guotao breathed a sigh of relief. At the same time, he dropped a bombshell.

A bombshell that left everyone dumbfounded! The shock it caused was even greater than the one they’d felt seeing the latest issue of *Chinese Medicine*!
