I Married the President

Chapter 140: Chapter 140: A Hungry Wolf Pounces on Its Prey

The onlookers, who had been so intimidated by Adrian Quincy’s presence they’d nearly lost their wits, finally recovered and broke into a flurry of discussion:

”I just heard Adjutant Hawkins call that man ’Young Master Quincy.’ He couldn’t be the master of Quincy Manor, could he?”

”Quincy Manor belongs to a legacy family. If his surname is Quincy, then it has to be him!”

”Ah! I always thought the master of Quincy Manor was some old geezer. I never imagined he’d be so incredibly handsome. I’m officially a fan!”

”And that woman... she seems to know Young Master Quincy really well...”

Listening to the buzzing gossip, Claire Sinclair felt a little uneasy. She quickly gathered her skirt and headed for the staircase.

Meanwhile.

Ethan Kingsley raised his wine glass for a small sip, his eyes fixed with great interest on the girl’s sexy, alluring back. A seductive smirk played on his lips.

’Looks like Adrian Quincy has taken the bait.’

’This show is about to get more and more interesting.’

...

At the top of the third-floor staircase and in front of the elevator, two plainclothes bodyguards stood watch.

Outside the only meeting room on the floor, two more men in black suits stood guard.

Claire Sinclair walked to the meeting room door, her heart filled with apprehension.

One of the men in black respectfully opened the door for her. ”Young Madam, Young Master Quincy is waiting for you inside.”

Claire Sinclair gave a slight nod and walked inside, gathering her skirt.

The moment she stepped into the room, the man who had been waiting for so long lunged like a starving wolf, pinning her against the wall as his frantic kisses overwhelmed her senses.

WHOOSH—

Claire Sinclair’s mind went completely blank. Her body grew weak, and soon, she could only remain standing thanks to the support of his arms.

After what felt like an eternity, he finally, reluctantly, released her lips. He panted softly before her face. ”Claire, don’t let any other man touch you from now on. Hm?”

”...”

’He didn’t see all that, did he...?’

Claire Sinclair stared at his handsome face, mere inches from her own. Her mind was still fuzzy from his kiss, and for a moment, she had no idea how to respond.

Seeing her looking so exquisitely shy, Adrian Quincy desperately wanted another taste. But he didn’t dare indulge, fearing he might make her uncomfortable.

”I’m not one for compliments, but you look... special tonight. Still, for future events like this, you should be more careful about your attire.” As he spoke, he took off his suit jacket and draped it over her shoulders, covering the bare skin of her lower back.

Feeling his warm breath on her cheeks, Claire Sinclair’s face grew hotter. She blushed and retorted, ”Well, you’re the one who picked out this dress for me...”

”Marina only showed me the front of the dress, not the back.” Had he known it was so revealing, he never would have let her wear it.

Claire Sinclair looked up and glared at him. ”You were mainly here to arrest someone. Seeing me was just secondary, wasn’t it!”

”A small-fry like Oscar Lynch isn’t even worth my personal attention.”

”...”

’A small-fry... What a way to describe him...’

Claire Sinclair couldn’t help but ask, ”Doesn’t this count as dereliction of duty?”

Adrian Quincy chuckled. ”Claire, who says I have to be sitting in my office at 8:30 at night?”

’Fair enough, it was well after office hours.’

’So this guy used an arrest as an open and aboveboard excuse to come here, only to end up meeting with me in secret.’

’It really isn’t easy trying to date him...’

”Have you eaten?”

Adrian Quincy nodded.

”So, when are you heading back?”

”I’ll leave with you when things wrap up here.”

Hearing this, Claire Sinclair was secretly overjoyed but forced herself to remain composed. ”The dinner banquet is about to start. Are you coming down with me?”
