I Married the President

Chapter 134: Chapter 134: The Feeling of Being Princess-Carried by Prince Charming

”Of course! Please, take a few more pictures!” Linda said with a smile before quietly stepping aside.

Before she left, she seemed to say something to Claire Sinclair, but it was too noisy to hear clearly. It sounded like words of encouragement, something about not being nervous.

Unfortunately, Claire Sinclair was nervous anyway.

The scene looked glamorous on TV, but for a professional newcomer who had never experienced such a grand event, it required immense mental fortitude.

Claire Sinclair desperately wanted to overcome her anxiety, but the camera flashes were too dazzling. She was finding it hard to cope.

Her legs grew weaker and weaker.

’I can’t go on. My legs, I can barely lift them...’

Claire cried out internally. ’This is bad. I don’t think I can stay on my feet. What do I do?’

Seemingly sensing her distress, Linda hurried back to support her. ”Claire Sinclair, what’s wrong?”

”My... my legs feel like jelly...” As she spoke, Claire Sinclair suddenly grabbed Linda’s arm, leaning her full weight on her.

The sudden force threw Linda off balance for a moment, but she did her best to hold Claire steady.

”Don’t be nervous. Just relax. We’ll walk over slowly.”

”I can’t. My legs are completely numb. Linda, I’m so sorry...” Claire Sinclair berated herself. Her body finally gave out, and she began to fall.

Linda quickly shouted to the event staff, ”Someone, come help me hold her up!”

”Oh my, what’s wrong with the young starlet?”

”She looks unwell. Her face is pale.”

”Quickly, someone from the staff needs to help her!”

The reporters beyond the red carpet grew anxious as well.

If it were any other actress fainting on the red carpet, they might not have been so concerned. After all, they had seen it all before. But seeing the petite Claire Sinclair in such a state, they couldn’t help but feel a genuine sense of worry.

The actresses who had been navigating the entertainment industry for years had long since lost their girlish innocence and naturalness. Their falls were always a little too perfect, making it seem like part of an act.

But Claire Sinclair was different.

The look of profound self-reproach on her face as she struggled to walk on, powerless, and her deathly pale complexion—no one could fake that.

Just then, a black figure appeared on the red carpet, moving like a flash of lightning.

The man abruptly pulled the staff member aside and swept Claire Sinclair up into his arms.

Claire Sinclair froze. She only snapped out of it when her feet left the ground. For a second, she thought her superhero had arrived, but the face looking down at her was unfamiliar.

Well, not entirely unfamiliar. They had met once before, at the supermarket...

”Ian Kingsley?”

”I told you, it’s Ethan Kingsley. Not Ian.”

”...” ’How do I keep getting his name wrong? This is so embarrassing.’

’Wait, I’m focusing on the wrong thing!’

”Put me down. This looks bad.”

”It doesn’t look bad. I think it looks pretty cool. Linda, what do you think?”

Linda smiled. ”If the boss says it’s cool, then it’s definitely cool. Claire Sinclair, just let my boss carry you inside. Think of it as experiencing what it’s like to be princess-carried by Prince Charming.”

’But I already have a king, I don’t need a prince!’

Claire Sinclair wanted to refuse again, but out of the corner of her eye, she saw countless pairs of eyes staring at her and felt a wave of mortification. She couldn’t even walk right now; being put down would only be more humiliating. So, she gave up the struggle.

”Thank you, Mr. Kingsley.”

”You’re welcome.”

Ethan Kingsley accepted her thanks and started walking inside.

When they finally reached a less crowded area, Ethan Kingsley couldn’t help but ask, ”Are you exhausted from work? Low blood sugar?”

”No, this is... an old problem of mine. My legs give out whenever I get nervous.”

”What’s there to be nervous about? You’re beautiful. You should be more confident.”

’Even if I’m beautiful, I’m still going to be nervous...’
