I Married the President

Chapter 102: Chapter 102: If You Don’t Act Fast, Young Master Quincy Will Be Snatched Away

Claire Sinclair looked into the man’s calm, dark eyes, feeling both flattered and stunned. In that instant, her heart felt like it had been dusted with pink.

’It’s over, it’s over! My girlish heart is about to explode!’

’This guy! Could he please not flirt with me in such a formal setting? Ahhh!’

To prevent him from doing anything else strange, she simply picked a little to eat from whichever dish was in front of her.

Before she knew it, the Hot and Sour Shredded Potatoes had rotated in front of her.

Claire Sinclair subconsciously picked up a bite of the potatoes and popped it into her mouth.

Perhaps because she was distracted, she choked as she swallowed. The spice seared her throat, making it burn painfully and sending her into a violent coughing fit.

Adrian Quincy’s brow furrowed slightly. Unhurriedly, he picked up his own glass and handed her the water he had been drinking from. ”If you can’t handle spicy food, then don’t eat it. Have some water.”

Claire Sinclair wanted to say that she could handle spice, just not anything *too* spicy. Besides, she had only choked; it wasn’t that she couldn’t eat it at all...

Just as she opened her mouth to speak, the man’s glass was pressed against her lips.

Acting on instinct, Claire Sinclair took the glass and gulped down a few mouthfuls of water. Only then did she catch her breath.

Everyone who saw this was stunned.

It wasn’t just the people at their table; anyone at other tables with a view of them was also in a state of shock.

Even Phoebe Lockwood and her father, who were sitting in the farthest corner, were no exception.

Phoebe Lockwood had noticed Claire Sinclair the moment she walked in. When she later saw Adrian Quincy placing food on Claire’s plate, the flames of jealousy in her heart threatened to burn her apart.

’What right does that fucking bitch have to sit next to Young Master Quincy? The person beside him should be me!’

’Bitch! How dare she steal my spot? I will absolutely not let this go!’

Unfortunately, the distance between them was too great; Claire Sinclair wasn’t even aware of Phoebe Lockwood’s presence.

After finishing Adrian Quincy’s water, Claire Sinclair couldn’t eat another bite, but she didn’t dare put down her chopsticks.

’It doesn’t look like anyone else is finished. If I leave now, everyone will stare at me. I’ll have to wait until someone else gets up before I can go.’

That was her plan, but she was already stuffed. To stall for time, she just pretended to pick at the white rice in her bowl.

How could Adrian Quincy not see what she was doing? In a low voice, he said, ”If you’re finished, you can go back and rest. You don’t need to wait for me.”

Claire Sinclair was mortified and blurted out, ”Mr. Quincy, I’m not waiting for you! I wanted to wait until everyone was finished before leaving.”

Adrian Quincy frowned. ”What are you waiting for them for?”

His question stumped her.

’Right, what *was* I waiting for them for?’

Adrian Quincy suddenly set down his chopsticks and stood up. ”Let’s go. I’m done.”

”Uh, where are we going?” Claire Sinclair hurried to follow.

”Back to do some work,” Adrian Quincy said as he walked.

With everyone’s eyes on them, the two of them left just like that.

The moment their figures disappeared through the doorway, the restaurant erupted into chaos.

”That woman looks like Quinn Sinclair’s twin sister. What’s her relationship with Young Master Quincy?”

”Young Master Quincy seems to treat that woman differently!”

”Oh dear, I need to tell my daughter to hurry up. If she doesn’t make a move, Young Master Quincy is going to be snatched away.”

”Let’s just eat. After we’re done, we can ask around.”

...

He had clearly said they were going back to do some work, but the moment they stepped outside, he pulled her into a private lounge and shut the door.

Claire Sinclair pressed herself nervously against the door, afraid the man would pin her against it again. She quickly took out the hero medal Mrs. Hale had given her. ”Mr. Quincy, this is the hero medal that Mrs. Hale gave to my sister. It needs to be handed ov—mmph...”

So much for that. Not only was she pinned against the wall, but he was forcibly kissing her again.
