I Married the President

Chapter 119: Chapter 119: Overly Excited

She had endured a tearing, agonizing pain, a battle so long it had drained all her strength. And yet, miraculously, she had survived.

As the sky began to lighten, Claire Sinclair’s large, round eyes were wide open, staring at the man’s sleeping face. Her heart was surprisingly calm.

He was in a deep sleep, with no coarse snores or drooling. Even in slumber, he was elegant and captivating, as if he were a born king, as perfect as God’s own masterpiece.

’Claire Sinclair, what kind of dumb luck did you stumble into to marry a man like this?’

’You must have saved the galaxy in a past life!’

’Heh heh, this feeling isn’t half bad.’

Claire Sinclair giggled to herself. While the man was still asleep, she snuck a little kiss on his lips, then closed her eyes in satisfaction.

However, she still wasn’t sleepy in the slightest—perhaps a little too excited.

She hadn’t put in any effort all night, unable to keep up with his rhythm at all. He had done all the work, going like a motor all on his own. That was why he was exhausted and fast asleep, while her own energy was completely untouched.

Fragments of the previous night ran uncontrollably through her mind. It felt as if traces of his presence still lingered in her body, and Claire Sinclair’s pretty face suddenly flushed red.

’Ugh, how embarrassing...’

Before she knew it, the girl drifted off to sleep amidst a hopeless tangle of emotions.

Adrian Quincy slowly opened his eyes. His vision sharpened from a blur, finally locking onto the girl’s peacefully sleeping face.

He left a gentle kiss on her lips and got out of bed.

Picking up the clothes from the floor, he turned and walked into the bathroom.

When he came out of his shower, the girl was still asleep.

Adrian Quincy walked to the bedside, slowly leaned down, and kissed her lips before speaking. ”Claire, get some rest. I have to go.”

The girl mumbled a response in her daze but didn’t wake up. It was impossible to tell if she had actually heard him.

He reluctantly caressed her lips. Despite the longing in his heart, he steeled himself and left the bedroom where they had found their harmony.

He turned, walked into the study, and picked up his phone.

He hadn’t touched his phone all night, and there were several missed calls.

Adrian Quincy selected one of the numbers and called it back.

The call connected instantly, and Aiden Howkins’s voice came through. ”Young Master Quincy, Frank Morgan called last night. The mission is complete, but he’s injured and can’t return just yet. The item has been sent back. When can you come take a look?”

”I’ll be there in half an hour.”

”Yes, sir.”

Adrian Quincy said nothing more and hung up the phone.

...

When Claire Sinclair woke up, the man was no longer in the room. She was left alone to face a space still thick with the intimacy of the night before, and her mood sank.

She picked up her phone, thinking of sending him a message, only to find he had sent her one ten minutes ago: ”Claire, breakfast is ready. Get up and eat soon.”

Claire immediately replied, ”Are you still home?”

He wrote back, ”I had urgent business to handle at the residence, so I’ve already left.”

She replied with a simple, ”Oh.”

He sent another message: ”I wore you out last night. Rest up at home today. Don’t go anywhere.”

’I’m not tired at all, okay!’

’He’s the one who’s exhausted...’

Blushing, Claire weakly typed out a request: ”I want to video call you. Is now a good time?”

The next second, a video call invitation from him popped up on her screen.

Claire quickly tapped ”Accept.”

When the video feed appeared, she saw him sitting in the driver’s seat, hands on the steering wheel, his eyes fixed on the road ahead instead of the camera.

’This guy is driving!’

Claire said urgently, ”Why are you on a video call while you’re driving? That’s so dangerous!”

”It’s a red light, so it’s fine. Just don’t distract me too much.”

”Then I should probably hang up.”

”Claire, did you miss me?”
