I Married the President

Chapter 131: Chapter 131: Still Too Inexperienced

His reminder made Claire Sinclair realize she was taking her anger out on an innocent person, so she picked up her phone and called Adrian Quincy.

The moment the call connected, she blurted out, ”I don’t want your dress! I’m going to buy my own!”

”You don’t like the one I picked for you?”

”That’s right, I don’t like it. I don’t like anything you give me!”

The man on the other end of the line fell silent.

Claire Sinclair paused, realizing she’d gone a bit too far. But the words were already out, and there was no taking them back. She forced herself to move on.

”Mr. Quincy, it’s not that I’m being unreasonable. You’ve gone too far. You’re not just monitoring me at home—you’re watching me at work, too. I’m a normal person, not a criminal!”

”I only turned on the monitor last night after I finished work. I happened to see that you wanted to go out but didn’t, and I thought you might be in some trouble and didn’t know to ask me for help. That’s why I called. I didn’t mean anything else by it.”

After hearing his explanation, Claire Sinclair’s restless heart instantly calmed down.

’Yeah, how could a busy man like him possibly be monitoring me around the clock? I was just flattering myself!’

For some reason, her eyes began to sting, and her nose tingled.

”But I just feel like this is pointless...”

”What would make it meaningful, then?”

”I just feel that you and I are from different worlds. When you want to see me, you just have to glance at a monitor. But what about me? Should I install a few cameras in Quincy Manor so I can watch you?”

The man pondered for a moment before asking, ”You want to see me?”

Claire Sinclair’s heart skipped a beat. It was as if her innermost thoughts had been laid bare, and she was utterly flustered.

When she didn’t answer, Adrian Quincy said, ”Put the dress on. I’ll come over to find you in a bit.”

”I...” Claire Sinclair wanted to say she hadn’t even arrived at the styling salon yet, but what came out was something else entirely. ”If you’re very busy, don’t waste your time on me.”

”Claire, I can’t just live in your imagination.”

’...’ ’Did he just flirt with me...?’

”Wait for me.” With that, the man hung up.

Claire Sinclair looked up at Aiden Howkins. ”Aiden, I’m not going to Splendor Plaza anymore. Just take me straight to the styling salon.”

A knowing smile touched the corners of Aiden Howkins’s lips. ’When Young Master Quincy makes a move, the Young Madam has no choice but to follow.’

’Young Madam, you’re still a little too naive.’

...

It was the same styling salon as last time. The moment Claire Sinclair arrived, a stylist had her sit in front of a mirror and meticulously began to apply her makeup.

The stylist was extremely professional, quickly giving her a light, natural makeup look before personally helping her into the gown Adrian Quincy had selected.

It was a long, white slip dress. The silky, comfortable fabric was clearly of the highest quality. A hand-woven bow was tied at the small of her back, subtly revealing the alluring dip of her spine.

Paired with white high heels, she looked pure and sweet from the front, yet sexy and captivating from the back. The contrast created a surprisingly mysterious aura, tinged with a hint of seduction.

Claire Sinclair stared at the ”perfect goddess” in the mirror, shocked. ’I never knew I had this in me. Beautiful, ethereal, and sexy... How can I be this beautiful!’

’AHAHAHAHA, my own beauty is going to be the death of me...’

’No, no, no. I have to be humble. How can I be so captivated by my own beauty!’

’Compose yourself. Yes, composure!’

Just as Claire Sinclair managed to pull herself out of her narcissistic reverie, a gasp came from behind her. ”Oh my goodness, where did this little fairy come from? So beautiful!”
