BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

In the endless void, upon Ancient Dragon Island.

Liu Xi met with Yao Tianhuo once more. The latter’s expression was filled with emotion and disbelief, his voice trembling slightly as he spoke.

”A high-level Dou Saint!”

Over the years since he parted ways with Liu Xi and wandered the continent, Yao Tianhuo had acquired many resources. Otherwise, he could not have advanced to the 9-Star Dou Zun, already surpassing the strength he once held at his peak.

The last news he had heard was that Liu Xi had become one of the Pill Tower’s giants and had reached the Half Saint realm. That alone had astonished him — he had seen many geniuses in his life, yet never one like Liu Xi. This young man was truly a monster among monsters.

As someone who had once subdued the Fallen Heart Flame, Yao Tianhuo found the process of taming the Wind and Thunder Fury Flame almost dull by comparison. After doing so, the first thought that crossed his mind was to find Liu Xi — he wanted to see just how far this monstrous youth could go.

Now that he saw him again, Liu Xi had already become a 7-Star Dou Saint!

Liu Xi was genuinely pleased. Their reunion was warm and easy; Yao Tianhuo helped him solve many troubles, and now, even brought him the Wind and Thunder Fury Flame. This kindness was one he could not leave unreturned.

One bottle after another of 8th Tier and 9th Tier Pills emerged from Liu Xi’s cauldron — if he had to, he would drown Yao Tianhuo in pills until he stepped into the Half Saint or even Dou Saint realm!

——

”It’s time to make some friends.”

A gentle smile appeared on Liu Xi’s face. He gathered his new collection of treasures, along with the vast supply of medicinal ingredients Zi Yan had prepared for him — rumor had it she had emptied several vaults just for this.

The dark void was filled with violent spatial turbulence and devastating storms that could shred ordinary Dou Saints to pieces. Only ancient magical beasts with space affinity, like those of the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe, could move freely here as if it were their home.

Suddenly, a surge of wind and lightning erupted. A brilliant streak of light flashed across the stormy void, cutting through chaotic currents and bending the raging storms aside. Its power needed no further explanation.

Liu Xi released his Spiritual Perception. Like a boundless ocean, it spread outward infinitely. He didn’t possess the Ancient Void Dragons’ innate spatial sense, but with his vast soul strength, he would never lose himself in the void.

Before, he couldn’t. Now, as one possessing an Emperor Realm Soul, even traversing the endless void posed no difficulty.

Lightning rolled like roaring beasts. The deafening rumble echoed through the void and reached Liu Xi’s ears, making him smile faintly. He knew he had arrived — the Void Lightning Pool.

In an instant, the world before him filled with blinding lightning. Endless bolts of silver-white lightning stretched from sky to ground, forming a vast sea of lightning.

For anyone else, the sheer volume of that power — thousands of bolts striking at once — would mean certain death. But to Liu Xi, it was little more than a gentle tickle.

He stepped forward and entered the sea of lightning directly. The overwhelming might of his Emperor Realm Soul spread out, forming an invisible domain that commanded even lightning itself to bow in submission.

Countless bolts exploded around him, yet wherever he passed, the lightning obediently parted — like servants bowing before their emperor.

Each step spanned a hundred meters. The deeper he ventured, the darker the lightning grew — from pure white, to blinding silver, then to jet-black, so deep and radiant it seemed to devour light itself.

The Black Demon Lightning!

After tempering his two puppets, Ah Long and Ah Huang, Liu Xi had returned once again to the depths of the Void Lightning Pool, where the terrifying Black Demon Lightning gathered. Each strand of that lightning could challenge an ordinary Dou Saint — several dozen at once could even force a Saint to flee in panic.

Raising an eyebrow, Liu Xi circulated his Spiritual Power, forming a warped domain around him. Within that domain, he was the sole ruler of all things.

He stepped into the sea of Black Demon Lightning. Like wolves that turned into sheep before a sovereign, the terrifying bolts twisted aside, lining both sides of his path like silent guards awaiting the emperor’s procession.

The might of his Emperor Realm Soul had already surpassed mortal measure. Even Liu Xi himself hadn’t yet fully explored its depths. If he were to unleash it completely, he could likely stand invincible within the Dou Saint realm.

”Rooaar!”

A thunderous roar erupted from deep within the lightning pool. The sound waves rippled outward, vibrating through the air and making Liu Xi’s ears tingle. Once, that roar would have left him coughing blood. But now? His body, soul, and power had all ascended beyond imagination — even the physique of the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe had been tempered into his own.

To call him a human-shaped magical beast was no exaggeration.

Liu Xi smiled. That roar belonged to the Nine Mysterious Golden Lightning. Through the crackling haze ahead, he could already glimpse faint golden brilliance and the awe-inspiring presence of the lightning sovereign itself.

Compared to Liu Xi, this being was the true emperor of lightning — the ruler of the Void Lightning Pool, a power comparable to the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame or the Void Devouring Flame.

Before, Liu Xi would have run at the first glimpse of it. But not now. His spine was straight, his confidence absolute. He had come to befriend it.

The Black Demon Lightning crackled around him. He was close — very close.

Liu Xi halted midair, his expression calm and serene. His fiery aura softened into gentle harmony, radiating warmth and goodwill.

Before him, barely a hundred meters away — a distance he could cross in a heartbeat — coiled a colossal lightning dragon over a thousand meters long.

Its body gleamed with radiant gold, every scale forged from lightning itself. Its muscular frame exuded raw power, resting amidst a lair formed entirely of Black Demon Lightning.

It raised its mighty head, staring coldly at Liu Xi. Yet the Dou Saint could tell — there was no hostility there, only emptiness and confusion, as though the creature did not even understand emotion.

Unlike Heavenly Flames, which were born with fragments of divine will, the Nine Mysterious Golden Lightning, though capable of forming a draconic shape, lacked true consciousness. Since its birth, it had wandered in ignorance, not knowing what it was, nor why it existed.

Even so, its power was enough to terrify any living being. But Liu Xi no longer feared it.

A 7-Star Dou Saint with the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame — that was his confidence. Against the Nine Mysterious Golden Lightning, he was no weaker; perhaps even stronger.

Yet there was no need to fight.

The Emperor Realm Soul was the source of spiritual creation itself. Liu Xi gently extended his Spiritual Power, enveloping the Nine Mysterious Golden Lightning with a calm, soothing radiance — a gesture of genuine goodwill.

That was his plan: to draw it in, to stir its desire for what it lacked. Without spirit, even the mightiest lightning longed for awareness.

Liu Xi desired its power; in return, he would gift it consciousness.

As his soul touched it, the lightning dragon trembled. Though vastly powerful, the familiar aura it sensed reminded it of that distant day — of the endless chase amid roaring lightning when, for the first time since its birth, it had known joy.

The dragon’s gaze softened.

”Rooaaar~”

It tilted its head slightly and let out a low, resonant cry.
