BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

The strange calm of the Central Plains was both a blessing and a curse. The blessing was that nothing had yet spiraled out of Liu Xi’s control. The curse was that the Hun Clan was likely proceeding smoothly with their plan to conquer the Shi Clan’s territory.

Liu Xi, however, had no intention of spreading this news. The one leading the assault was none other than the 9-Star Dou Saint, Void Devouring Flame—a being Liu Xi couldn’t possibly contend with right now. Besides, spreading it would bring him no benefit. The Gu Clan, Lei Clan, Yan Clan, or Yao Clan wouldn’t thank him for it; instead, the Hun Clan would mark him for death.

He had no Dou Di bloodline—he would never be truly accepted by them. So why bother? Rather than warming cold faces, it was better to nurture his own foundation. And if he had the time, wasn’t it far better spent deepening his bond with Zi Yan?

The Ancient Void Dragon Tribe was thriving. One side saw the return of countless old powerhouses, making their foundation comparable to the Hun and Gu Clans—lacking only a single true pillar to lead them. That, precisely, was Liu Xi’s role to fill.

The other side was the entire Beast Region. The Heaven Demon Phoenix Tribe still held some unwillingness, but under the weight of reality, they could be slowly tamed into obedience.

The Nine Serene Deep Ground Python Tribe was already under Qing Lin’s control, and Liu Xi had complete faith in her. So long as she didn’t absorb Dou Qi too recklessly and end up harming herself, all would be well.

As for the many smaller beast tribes—even several beast armies had already been formed, ready to march at a moment’s notice. The Ancient Void Dragon Tribe now held the power to determine the fate of the Beast Region itself.

All that was left was for Liu Xi to advance his Dou Qi cultivation—to become a true pillar of power—then he could stand as an equal among Hun Tiandi and Gu Yuan, qualifying to explore the Ancient Emperor’s Cave Mansion.

And once there, with his father-in-law as an ally, he could take down Hun Tiandi and Gu Yuan one by one. Everything within the cave mansion would belong to him.

Just thinking about it made him a little excited.

Returning from his thoughts, Liu Xi sat cross-legged on his bed. From the vast collection stored within his rings—including those of Xiao Yan—he retrieved a jade scroll: the Nine Ying Yellow Spring Pill recipe.

Half a year from now, the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame would appear. To subdue it, relying solely on the remnant soul of the Pure Lotus Demon Saint within his mind was far too uncertain.

The Nine Ying Yellow Spring Pill was a must. Its main ingredient, the Spring Blood Crystal, was already in his possession. As for the rest, Liu Xi had no shortage—after years of ”amicable exchanges” with others, most had willingly handed over their Storage Rings.

And if somehow that wasn’t enough, he still had his little rich girl Zi Yan. Though she couldn’t refine pills, with a wave of that delicate hand, heaps of rare medicinal ingredients could be produced effortlessly.

Back to business. Liu Xi pressed the jade scroll to his forehead. A flood of information about the Nine Ying Yellow Spring Pill surged into his mind.

Moments later, he lowered the scroll and slowly exhaled, a faint smile curving his lips. ”So this is the Nine Ying Yellow Spring Pill? Doesn’t seem that difficult.”

With his Spiritual Power now at the Perfect Heaven Realm, his comprehension had grown tremendously. Reading a 9th Tier pill recipe like this was effortless—he immediately grasped every crucial step.

After a brief thought, Liu Xi waved his hand. One by one, jade boxes flew from his Storage Ring, circling around him in a neat line.

”I’ve got all the ingredients. Let’s refine the Nine Ying Yellow Spring Pill.”

He flicked his sleeve, releasing a surge of azure flame. The fire burned fiercely, filled with life, twisting and dancing until it condensed into a cauldron made entirely of flame—very much like the Ten Thousand Beast Cauldron.

Gathering flame into a cauldron—a small trick only true alchemy masters could perform.

Fixing his gaze on the fire cauldron, Liu Xi formed a hand seal and commanded, ”Go!”

With a soft crack, the first jade box opened. From within, a stalk of Ice Heart Aster floated up, mist swirling as waves of extreme cold spread out. This plant grew only in the coldest lands, always facing the sun yet never losing its icy core.

Under Liu Xi’s control, the Ice Heart Aster shot into the cauldron. The azure flame roared up like a beast and devoured it whole.

The frigid aura struggled against the flame’s burn but couldn’t compare. Soon, wisps of white mist rose, condensing into chilled droplets of liquid essence while the rest of the herb crumbled to ash.

With his Spiritual Power nearly perfect, Liu Xi’s control over temperature and timing had reached the realm of flawlessness—failure was almost impossible.

After refining the Ice Heart Aster, he proceeded to the next ingredient. Another herb entered the cauldron, the flame surged like a dragon—swallowing herbs, spitting out refined essence.

Half a day later, all the auxiliary ingredients were complete. Only the Spring Blood Crystal remained. Opening the final jade box, a chilling energy surged out, frost biting at Liu Xi’s face.

It was cold enough to make one’s soul shiver.

Liu Xi flicked the crystal, sending it into the cauldron. The azure flame twisted into a draconic form and lunged forward, swallowing the crystal whole.

A blood-red chill erupted within, roaring like a giant serpent thrashing wildly. But the azure flame—now a mighty dragon—pressed down hard, its claws tearing through the serpent’s body, shattering the blood energy and refining it into pure liquid.

The impurities burned away, leaving only a pool of crimson essence radiating cold, deathly energy.

”Hu~”

Exhaling slowly, Liu Xi began the final step. His eyes locked onto the cauldron as his hands blurred through seals, faster and faster—until he gave a low shout, ”Condense!”

The cauldron trembled. The various essences fused together, converging around the core of crimson liquid. Energies clashed violently, their collision sending ripples through the cauldron walls.

But Liu Xi remained calm. Vast Spiritual Power surged from his brow, precisely balancing and guiding the merging process, soothing every unstable surge.

Under his perfect control, the fusion went smoother than expected. Three days later, a rough, uneven pill—its surface flickering with chilling light as though it could freeze the soul—floated up from the flames like a mischievous child.

Liu Xi smiled in satisfaction.

”9th Tier Pill, difficult? Hah, all it takes is a steady hand.”

Boundless Spiritual Power enveloped the pill. Tiny motes of light peeled away from the air, sinking into the pill’s rough surface. As the glow merged, the pill began to pulse with life, greedily absorbing the energy—it was awakening.

The azure flame rippled gently around it, nurturing it to perfection.

Before long, the rough edges smoothed, its surface rounded and luminous—the Nine Ying Yellow Spring Pill was ready to be born.
