BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

”These things no longer matter. Today, no matter who dares to come, one comes, I kill one. Two come, I kill both!”

The North Dragon King’s laughter was deranged, his crimson, blood-soaked form radiating arrogance and madness. Having devoured the West and South Dragon Kings along with countless clansmen, even Zi Yan was barely able to suppress him. Liu Xi, a newcomer to the fight, was scarcely worth his attention.

Liu Xi frowned—his head throbbed with exhaustion. First, it had been Huang Tian, now this lunatic. The higher one climbed on the Dou Saint path, the harder it became to battle across realms. ”Zi Yan,” he transmitted through Spiritual Power, ”do you have a way to deal with him?” If not, they’d have to risk everything.

Zi Yan’s violet-gold eyes glinted with calm determination as she glanced from Liu Xi to the monstrous king. ”Big Brother, give me ten minutes.”

”Good,” Liu Xi replied solemnly.

The North Dragon King’s grotesque body surged forward, muscles writhing beneath streams of blood. The distorted faces upon his fused head sneered hideously as an overwhelming aura pressed down like a mountain.

Liu Xi’s body erupted with dazzling light. In the next instant, his form expanded—golden scales rippled outward from beneath his skin, while magnificent wings of light unfurled behind him. Azure flame surged from his body, wrapping him in a living cloak of fire. Though he possessed many Heavenly Flames, this azure blaze—the Green Lotus Core Flame—was his true mark. Against Huang Tian, he had restrained it. Against the North Dragon King, he would hold nothing back.

Blood mist boiled through the air, yet the North Dragon King couldn’t approach; the heat from Liu Xi’s flames seared the void itself. With a single beat of his radiant wings, Liu Xi tore through the blood-fog and collided with the monster head-on.

The two titans clashed in midair, blood Qi and Heavenly Flame devouring one another. Each blow landed with bone-crushing force. The North Dragon King’s body was monstrous, but Liu Xi’s was no weaker—tempered through countless battles, strengthened by his Ancient Void Dragon Body, his King Kong Glass Body, and the blazing armor of his flame. Under the suppression of the Dragon Seal, the North Dragon King no longer held absolute advantage.

Seeing Liu Xi hold the line, Zi Yan exhaled and wasted not a breath. Ignoring her wounds, she formed seals with her hands and closed her eyes, calling upon the power buried deep in her bloodline.

The Dragon-Slaying Sword—an inheritance of the royal bloodline of the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe. Only those who had perfected their blood and stepped beyond 6-Star Dou Saint could awaken it. It was the symbol of the Dragon Emperor’s might.

But Zi Yan could wait no longer. Her tribe had fallen into rebellion; the traitor threatened the clan’s future. If the sword did not appear, the rebellion could not be purged.

Outside North Dragon Island, the onlooking dragons finally drew breath again, hope rekindled. What had seemed the end of their race now glimmered with possibility. Liu Xi battled the North Dragon King evenly—a sight that left Elder Zhu Li sighing with emotion. When he had first met Liu Xi, the youth had been but a 9-Star Dou Zong. For a race as long-lived as theirs, it had been scarcely the blink of an eye, and now that same youth fought on equal ground with a traitorous 5-Star Dou Saint.

The gathered dragons roared in praise. Their race revered strength, and the sight of Liu Xi’s fearless charge stirred genuine respect even among the proud ancient ones.

Moments later, space rippled again as a hundred figures descended upon the island—Xiao Yixian, Qing Lin, and the elite warriors of the Nine Serene Deep Ground Python Tribe. Liu Xi, worried for Zi Yan, had rushed ahead alone, leaving the two women to escort the Heaven Demon Phoenix captives behind him.

At first, the dragons bristled at the intrusion, but when they recognized Qing Lin and Xiao Yixian—both acquaintances of Elder Zhu Li—the tension eased. After a brief explanation, they understood: the Nine Serene Deep Ground Python Tribe were allies, not enemies, and the two Heaven Demon Phoenix Elders, Feng Huang and Kun Huang, were already prisoners.

Outrage spread through the ancient dragons. The Heaven Demon Phoenix Tribe had tried to take advantage of their chaos—first sowing division, then plotting against their future Dragon Emperor. Once this rebellion was crushed, they vowed, vengeance against the Heaven Demon Phoenix Tribe would follow, both to settle the score and to announce the rebirth of the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe.

Meanwhile, the North Dragon King himself was shocked. Though his mind was fraying under the formation’s corruption, his cruel instincts remained sharp. A mere 4-Star Dou Saint had actually withstood him? Such strength forced even this madman to take Liu Xi seriously.

”What a powerful body… and such terrifying flame. Hmph, your aura feels nearly identical to that of the Dragon Phoenix body. Very well—after I devour you, I’ll devour the Dragon Emperor next!”

With a roar, the North Dragon King smashed Liu Xi backward a hundred zhang. His blood-soaked hand flashed through a seal as he bellowed, ”Blood Dragon Devours the Heavens!”

The vast formation below began to churn violently. Endless torrents of blood Qi surged upward, coalescing above his head into a colossal dragon of pure gore—larger than the island itself. Its roar carried murderous intent that shook the heavens.

”Hahaha! For this day, I have endured millennia! Today I ascend the throne as Dragon Emperor—and all of you shall serve as my sacrifice!”

As the monstrous blood dragon’s body solidified, the North Dragon King shot upward, transforming into a streak of blood light that plunged into its gaping maw. Instantly, the dragon’s scales gleamed darkly, its immense form radiating a chilling, murderous glow.

”Rooooar!”

Those crimson eyes turned upon Liu Xi—cold, pitiless. Its titanic body moved, the world trembling beneath its roar.

”Die—all of you!”

But before its strike could fall, a calm yet commanding voice echoed through the skies.

”All rebellious dragons shall perish beneath the Dragon-Slaying Sword.”

Zi Yan’s figure rose high above, her golden hair streaming, her presence radiant and divine. In her hands appeared a golden longsword—the Dragon-Slaying Sword itself. Its blade flowed like molten gold, rippling faintly as if alive.

”Dragon Seal—suppress the traitor!”

The Dragon Seal hovering in the air blazed suddenly, flooding North Dragon Island with dazzling violet light. The radiance enveloped everything, even the massive blood dragon within. Its scarlet glow dimmed; its movements slowed to a crawl.

Zi Yan stepped forward. The Dragon-Slaying Sword swung gently, yet each arc unleashed countless golden sword beams. Wherever they passed, the terrifying blood dragon—once indestructible—was sliced apart, its massive body cleaved into eight pieces.

”Damn that Dragon-Slaying Sword!” the North Dragon King howled from within, panic finally breaking through his madness. The sword should not have answered Zi Yan’s call—not yet. With it in her hand, he was nothing but a lamb awaiting slaughter.

Desperate, he abandoned the crumbling dragon form and lunged skyward, turning into a streak of blood light aimed straight at Zi Yan.

But—

Whoosh!

Before he could reach her, the sound of air splitting rang out. A black war spear pierced through the void, too fast to react.

The North Dragon King froze, looking down in disbelief. The spear’s dark shaft jutted from his chest, half-buried within his heart. Agonizing pain tore through flesh and soul alike. His immense vitality ebbed away, his expression twisting in horror.

That ”ordinary” spear had struck with the force of annihilation.

When he finally lifted his gaze again, Zi Yan was before him—her expression ice-cold, eyes filled with contempt. The Dragon-Slaying Sword in her hand flashed once, tracing a golden arc through the air.

And the North Dragon King’s threefold head fell silent forever.

The one who had plotted to divide the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe and usurp the throne—the North Dragon King—was slain beneath the Dragon-Slaying Sword.
