BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

”Move! Take down the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame first — anything else can wait! Otherwise, none of us will leave here alive!”

The shattering of the illusion marked the start of true battle. Those who still had reason were now blinded by greed, and one by one they launched themselves toward the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame.

Four 4-Star Dou Saints—Hun Miesheng, Gu Nanhai, Huo Yao, and Yao Wangui—together with over a dozen lower-ranked Dou Saints and dozens more Half Saints and Peak Dou Zuns, formed a force that shook the heavens and the earth.

Auras flared violently, the space itself quaked, and heaven and earth energy splintered under the pressure. Torrents of Dou Qi surged like tidal waves, sweeping toward the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame with reckless abandon.

Even a 5-Star or 6-Star Dou Saint would not dare to take such an assault lightly. To underestimate it would be to drown beneath that overwhelming tide.

The flame, however, only smiled coldly. His hands formed seals with blinding speed before his voice boomed out like thunder.

”Demonic Flame World Destruction!”

Boom!

The vast magma sea below exploded, surging upward in molten waves as pure white flames fused with lava to form a roaring inferno. The waves of fire collided with the torrents of Dou Qi, producing dense white smoke and a sizzling hiss that filled the air.

Their strengths varied widely, and few had used their full power — they fought half-heartedly, without coordination or strategy. The seemingly boundless assault was instantly purified, devoured entirely by the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame.

The blazing tide scattered in every direction. Those who survived scrambled in panic — eight immortals crossing the sea, each showing their own means.

Wherever the flames passed, even stone turned to nothingness. A few unlucky souls were struck by stray tongues of fire — a single spark clinging like a festering curse. Neither Dou Qi nor any other force could extinguish it. Their screams echoed briefly before their bodies turned to ash.

The Hellfire of the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame — one touch meant death.

The watching cultivators shuddered. Those burned to nothingness weren’t nameless weaklings; among them were Peak Dou Zuns and even Half Saints — renowned figures of the Central Plains who now vanished like dust.

Hun Miesheng dodged easily, his expression dark and venomous. He had come with a mission — success or death. The Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame had to be captured.

”Everyone has seen it,” he growled coldly. ”This flame is unimaginably strong. If we don’t fight together, none of us will survive, let alone subdue it!”

Yao Wangui nodded in agreement, a trace of fear flickering deep within his eyes. He was a proud alchemist, not a warrior. Few had ever dared speak to him disrespectfully — but the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame was no ordinary foe.

”Hall Master Hun is right,” Yao Wangui said solemnly. ”We must join forces to suppress it first, then discuss how to divide it.”

His words came not from righteousness but from calculation. If he helped seize the flame first, he could then dictate terms with pride — and who among them would dare refuse him face after that?

Gu Nanhai of the Gu Clan and Huo Yao of the Yan Clan exchanged glances and nodded as well. Judging from the power displayed earlier, the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame possessed at least the might of a 5-Star Dou Saint, perhaps more. None could face it alone.

As for Hun Feng, Gu Xun’er, Yao Tian, and Huo Xuan — the younger generation of the ancient clans — this battle was far beyond their qualifications. They could only watch.

Having reached an unspoken agreement, the four 4-Star Dou Saints attacked together. For the first time, their efforts showed real coordination, while the others followed with supporting strikes.

Hun Miesheng, desperate to complete his task, unleashed his ultimate technique. His hands blurred through seals, his sleeves flaring outward as he roared.

”Ten Thousand Souls Burial!”

His robe billowed violently as chilling black mists poured out, carrying countless screaming spirits. The air grew heavy with despair; even hearing those wails was enough to freeze the soul.

The onlookers recoiled in disgust and dread. The Hall of Souls’ reputation in the Central Plains was abysmal for a reason — desecrating the souls of the dead. Who among them had not lost someone dear? To think their souls might be imprisoned here was enough to make anyone’s skin crawl.

Gu Nanhai’s face turned grim. His finger pointed outward, and devastating Dou Qi fluctuations shook the air. The void itself trembled before his technique.

”Great Annihilation Finger!”

A colossal finger of deathly Dou Qi coalesced, radiating utter stillness. Even opponents of the same rank would not dare take it head-on. Many Dou Saints had perished beneath that technique throughout history.

Beside him, Huo Yao summoned his Heavenly Flame — the Flaming Cloud Water Flame, ranked 16th on the Heavenly Flame Ranking. His deep voice rolled across the molten sea.

”Fire Dance Cyclone!”

The gentle, fluid flame suddenly erupted into unbearable heat. It twisted and spun, forming a raging tornado of fire that churned with destructive fury.

Yao Wangui, though weaker in combat, still contributed what he could. ”Clouds of Blazing Flame!”

Layer upon layer of flame spread like clouds across the sky. As they rubbed together, their friction generated extreme temperatures, distorting space and boiling away all moisture in the air.

The Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame only sneered. ”Pitiful ants.”

His handsome face twisted into a feral grin as his hands flashed through a new set of seals. His voice thundered across the volcanic sea.

”For a thousand years, I have been bound to this place. Today, whoever comes... shall die!”

”Great Tragedy Hand! Demon Flame Halberd!”

His roar split the air. Beneath him, the magma sea erupted as an enormous molten hand surged upward alongside a vast alabaster halberd of flame. One left, one right — both crashed toward the four Dou Saints with world-ending might.

Boom! Boom!

The explosions shook heaven and earth. Shockwaves tore through the air, flames sweeping out in a devastating storm that drowned the entire magma field.

The younger generation — Hun Feng, Gu Xun’er, Yao Tian, Yao Ling, Huo Xuan, Huo Zhi — along with countless Central Plains powerhouses, scattered in terror. None dared linger.

The impacts cracked mountains, split the land, and sent the magma churning in furious waves — an apocalyptic scene of destruction.

Even the four Dou Saints were battered. They barely escaped the sea of fire, their figures flickering backward in disarray. Yao Wangui’s robes were half-burned, his beard scorched to stubble — the image of humiliation.

The other three fared little better. Even together, they had gained not the slightest advantage.

This was the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame’s domain — forged and refined over millennia into an impenetrable fortress. Were it not for Liu Xi breaking the Nightmare Heavenly Fog earlier, these so-called elites might never have even laid eyes on the true flame.

And the flame still had countless servants — and the Demonic Flame Refining Heaven Formation encompassing the entire realm. Even a high-tier Dou Saint could not escape unscathed.
