BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

Amid the ruins of the Heaven Hall, Liu Xi walked leisurely as if strolling through his own courtyard. The entire place had been drowned in blood—walls cracked, passages scorched, corpses scattered everywhere. Under the slaughter of a Dou Saint, few bodies remained whole.

He passed through the broken corridors, collecting each fallen foe’s Storage Ring. A flick of his finger summoned a wisp of Heavenly Flame, reducing the corpses to ash. He never forgot his true purpose—the Soul Essence accumulated by the Hall of Souls. He would not waste time chasing trivial gains. Following the shortest path, he moved straight toward the chamber where the Soul Essence was stored.

After several twists and turns, he descended a staircase about ten meters deep and arrived in a sealed underground chamber—only to find no path forward.

”As expected of the headquarters. The security is airtight. That only means the amount of Soul Essence stored here far surpasses that of the Earth Hall and Human Hall.”

A faint smile crept onto his face. As a Late Heaven Realm Soul, the Soul Essence he took from the Earth Hall was already comparable to that of the Human Hall. If the Heaven Hall held far more than that... then he might actually reach the Emperor Realm Soul!

Impatience flickered in his eyes. With a wave of his sleeve, he summoned the soul of the slain First Tianzun. A flicker of light appeared, and the faint, ghostly figure of the Tianzun manifested before him.

”Speak. Where’s the mechanism here?”

The Tianzun’s empty eyes flickered faintly as his dull voice echoed, ”This is the Heaven Hall—the main headquarters. Normally, only the Hall Master has access. Each branch hall’s collected Soul Essence is eventually delivered here. The exact storage location is unknown to outsiders.”

Instead of disappointment, Liu Xi’s eyes gleamed with excitement. That meant the headquarters might hold all the Soul Essence gathered from every branch of the Hall of Souls. That was no small matter. He grasped the Tianzun’s soul again and, after a brief thought, looked down at the ground.

”No matter the mechanism... the Soul Essence is definitely beneath me.”

With a thought, azure flame appeared in his palm. It twisted and coiled until a spinning vortex of fire formed. His finger guided the vortex downward, and the flaming spiral struck the black stone floor. Sparks scattered as the ground melted away, a deep pit boring open rapidly.

”Got it!”

Moments later, Liu Xi’s eyes brightened. His Spiritual Perception sensed an open chamber below—truly hidden deep. Without the Heavenly Flame, breaking through would have risked collapsing the entire structure.

He leapt into the pit. Wind howled past his ears as he dropped several dozen meters before landing smoothly. Around him stretched a labyrinth of dark corridors, built entirely of black stone. The air was dense, the energy suppressed—both Dou Qi and Spiritual Power felt restrained.

”Tch, troublesome place.”

Even so, Liu Xi unleashed his Late Heaven Realm Spiritual Perception to its full extent. Despite the suppression, he could still probe most of the maze. His foot tapped lightly, and he darted through the corridors as if he knew the path by heart.

Soon, he stopped before a small sealed door. Layers of seals covered it—Soul seals, Dou Qi seals, even traces of Heavenly Flame.

”This must be it.”

Joy danced in his eyes. So many seals—only Hun Miesheng would know how to undo them. But Liu Xi had his own way.

He raised his hand. Dou Qi, Heavenly Flame, and Spiritual Power merged in precise balance, condensing into a miniature black sun—a sphere capable of devouring everything. He stepped forward, squinting as azure fire flickered in his pupils. The complex runic patterns of the seal became clear in his sight.

Strangely, there were thin black fire threads interwoven through the runes. When his Spiritual Perception brushed them, they vanished instantly—devoured.

”This is... the Void Devouring Flame?!”

Flipping his palm, Liu Xi pressed the black sun against the door. Hidden seals surfaced, glowing faintly, but the devouring force quickly corroded them. Even the black fire lines—though capable of consuming all energy—began collapsing under overwhelming strain.

After half an hour, a crisp click echoed. The seals merged and vanished entirely. The trace of soul energy anchoring them disintegrated.

At the same moment, far away on the Beast Region’s border, Hun Miesheng’s expression changed drastically. His heart skipped a beat.

”No... the headquarters... has been robbed.”

Every protective seal had been destroyed—that meant the entire Soul Essence reserve of the Hall of Souls was at risk!

”Thieving cur! This Hall Master and you are sworn enemies!”

Fury erupted. Without another word, Hun Miesheng tore space apart and vanished, racing back toward the Heaven Hall at full speed.

Meanwhile—

Liu Xi’s eyes shone gold as he stared at the enormous mass of Soul Essence before him. The glowing orb stretched ten meters wide, radiating pure Spiritual Power—ten times larger than the one from the Earth Hall.

”I’ve struck gold... utterly struck gold...”

If joy had a face, it was his. Heart pounding, he stepped forward, pressing a trembling hand onto the luminous sphere.

A boundless tide of Spiritual Power surged forth, engulfing his body, resonating with his Spiritual Power, and finally merging into his soul. For a moment, Liu Xi felt intoxicated—his consciousness afloat, his very being overwhelmed by bliss.

When the last wisp of light was absorbed, he staggered slightly, his eyes glazed with awe. He should have left immediately—but instead, he spread his Spiritual Perception wide. Empowered by the fresh infusion of Soul Essence, his soul energy was more active than ever.

He darted from room to room through the underground maze. Each sealed door he opened revealed another hidden treasure—the Hall of Souls’ centuries of plunder.

Qi Methods, Dou Techniques, Pill Recipes, Pills—countless treasures. Over the centuries, the Hall of Souls had looted countless sects. Now, all those spoils belonged to Liu Xi.

Not just treasures—he found maps marking every branch hall’s location, the list of powerful members, mission logs... and records of every atrocity the Hall of Souls had ever committed. If this information were made public, the Hall of Souls would instantly become the mortal enemy of the entire Central Plains.

Its crimes were beyond forgiveness.

——

When Hun Miesheng finally returned, the sight before him was devastation. The Heaven Hall lay in ruins. Every expert was dead.

He rushed into the underground chamber—only to find the Soul Essence gone. The centuries of collections vanished. Every document erased.

His fists clenched. He dropped to his knees, staring up at the ruined ceiling, his voice breaking into a roar of helpless rage.

”No—!”
