BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

On Ancient Dragon Island, Zi Yan remained in seclusion while the elders convened to finalize the reorganization of the tribe—discussing matters such as elder authority, army command, and internal distribution of power.

Such politics had nothing to do with Liu Xi. He trusted Zi Yan to handle them. Taking his newly forged puppets—Ah Long and Ah Huang—he departed alone toward the Void Lightning Pool near the former East Dragon Island.

Violent spatial turbulence raged around the area, forming deadly storms. In this endless void, even a Dou Zun expert could have their body torn apart and ultimately vanish into eternal darkness.

Once, Liu Xi had needed Hei Qing’s help to traverse this place. Now, as a Dou Saint, he could easily enter it alone.

Before long, streaks of lightning filled his vision. The deafening roar of thunder echoed from afar, rolling endlessly through the void.

”We’re here.”

A faint smile appeared on Liu Xi’s lips as he took a step forward. Space twisted around him, compressing the distance in an instant.

When he reappeared, he stood amidst a sea of lightning—countless bolts of thick silver-white thunder twisting and crashing like wild serpents that connected heaven and earth.

With a flick of his sleeve, the space within three meters warped into a protective barrier, isolating him from the surrounding lightning. The furious bolts ignored his presence entirely.

Standing within the shield, Liu Xi glanced around and shook his head. ”Not enough. Only Black Demon Lightning can help Ah Long and Ah Huang advance. With their talent and strength, reaching the 6-Star Dou Saint level should be no problem.”

As his voice faded, his robe fluttered, and he stepped deeper into the storm. Lightning flashed wildly around him, yet he strolled through it unscathed, as if the thunder had eyes and dared not touch him.

Anyone witnessing this sight would be shocked beyond words. Even an ordinary Dou Zun could never move so freely within such a thunder sea.

The deeper he went, the thicker and more violent the lightning became. Some bolts were as thick as water tanks—just a single strike could heavily wound a high-level Dou Zun, roasting them half to death.

Liu Xi walked on calmly, searching for a suitable spot to refine his puppets.

Soon, the bright silver thunder vanished from sight, replaced by a dense, pitch-black lightning that radiated a suffocating aura of destruction—Black Demon Lightning.

”This is the place.”

A glint of delight flashed in his eyes. Black Demon Lightning was a calamity-level lightning summoned only during the refinement of 9th Tier Pills or higher. To summon such thunder through alchemy alone would take countless years of effort.

But here, within this Void Lightning Pool, the Black Demon Lightning existed naturally and in vast quantity—perfect nourishment for his puppets. With it, the 5-Star Dou Saint-level Ah Long and Ah Huang could both advance to the 6-Star realm.

With two such guardians at his side, even the Hall of Souls’ Heaven and Earth Tiangang Halls would be within reach. The Hall of Souls’ collected Soul Essences had long tempted Liu Xi; though he couldn’t bear to slaughter souls as they did, he had no qualms about taking what they’d already gathered.

Snapping back to focus, Liu Xi raised his hand. Three streaks of light shot forth—Ah Long, Ah Huang, and the previously crafted Ah San, made from Qing Yan’s materials.

Ah Long and Ah Huang were both 5-Star Dou Saints, while Ah San had only reached the Half-Saint level. Still, this was a fine opportunity for him to strengthen as well; even advancing to a 1-Star Dou Saint would be a great leap.

The three lights halted midair and transformed into their true forms: Ah Long and Ah Huang, towering and metallic, their bodies like living iron statues; and poor, battered Ah San, whose frame looked as though it had been assembled from leftover scraps.

Ah Long and Ah Huang exchanged a glance before releasing powerful auras and diving into the nearest streams of Black Demon Lightning. Ah San trembled as he followed behind, timidly touching the black lightning to test its intensity before slowly sinking into it.

Rumble!

A deafening roar filled the air as the pitch-black, viscous lightning engulfed all three puppets. The violent disturbance attracted even more Black Demon Lightning from the depths of the pool.

Bolts of dark thunder hammered them relentlessly. Yet, just as Liu Xi expected, the puppets—covered in crawling arcs of lightning—acted like black holes, devouring the incoming energy in massive gulps.

Their aura surged upward at a terrifying pace—so much so that, if this scene were happening outside, the heavens themselves might have been torn apart.

Standing at the edge of the storm, Liu Xi watched calmly. He had no intention of entering the Black Demon Lightning himself—this wasn’t ordinary thunder. Even for a Dou Saint, it would be unbearable.

Though a 4-Star Dou Saint, Liu Xi wasn’t eager to be struck for no reason.

Finding nothing else to do, he decided to use the opportunity to practice the set of Dou Techniques he had obtained from the Yellow Spring Demon Saint—Yellow Spring Finger, Yellow Spring Palm, and Yellow Spring Divine Anger.

These techniques formed a complete system, each move stronger than the last. The final one, Yellow Spring Divine Anger, was a rare High Tian Class Dou Technique.

”Let’s begin.”

Liu Xi found a clear area amidst the storm and began his practice. Back then, the Yellow Spring Demon Saint had transmitted not only the techniques but also his own insights directly into Liu Xi’s Divine Spirit through soul inheritance.

That gift had saved Liu Xi an enormous amount of time—the advantage of being the first to conquer the trial. There was no need to spend decades comprehending the technique from scratch.

His fingers moved slowly at first, forming intricate seals. Though his speed was not fast, it was precise and steady. As familiarity grew, his movements quickened, his muscle memory returning as if he had practiced these seals countless times before.

Soon, vast Dou Qi surged through his meridians, flowing in perfect rhythm with his gestures. At last, the energy and movement resonated in unison—the hallmark of mastery for Tian Class Dou Techniques.

From there, Liu Xi finally began to grasp the deeper meaning left behind by the Yellow Spring Demon Saint. Visions flashed in his mind, layer upon layer of understanding, as the essence of the technique revealed itself.

”Yellow Spring Finger!”

His seals shifted rapidly, and Dou Qi erupted like a torrent. Pointing his finger forward, Liu Xi condensed the surging energy into a massive finger of deep yellow light, nearly a hundred meters long.

It was wild, tyrannical, and unstoppable—like a furious serpent relying solely on brute strength to crush everything before it.

”Go!”

Boom!

The colossal finger shot forth, smashing through countless serpents of lightning. Thunder raged around it but failed to stop its advance. More and more bolts gathered until, at last, a thunderous explosion tore through the entire lightning pool.

Even within the endless storm, a vast clearing opened—empty, silent, and scorched by the power of destruction.
