BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

”Hissss!”

The monstrous North Dragon King stood before all, his grotesque head bearing three mouths that twisted open, each dripping streams of blood-red saliva. Six feral, beast-like eyes glowed with maddened savagery. In his massive hand, he gripped a scarlet greatsword wrapped in an aura of blood. The stench of iron filled the air—it wasn’t the Dragon-Slaying Sword, yet its aura was no less terrifying. Forged by drinking dragon blood during its creation, this blade held immense restraint against the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe.

Under the suppression of the Dragon Seal, the North Dragon King could no longer stabilize his bloodline, let alone summon such a weapon. Zi Yan herself hadn’t summoned the Dragon-Slaying Sword either, wielding her Dragon Spear instead as she faced him.

”It’s your fault! All of it!” the North Dragon King shrieked, his deranged laughter echoing through his three mouths. ”We agreed to serve you as Emperor, yet you refused to grant even one of us the title of Dragon King. So tell me—am I wrong? No! Those two weaklings lost their islands to you, they hated you! I merely granted their dying wish. I devoured their flesh, yes, but I also promised them I’d avenge their shame!”

”Delusional words! The Ancient Void Dragon Tribe acknowledges only a Dragon Emperor—there are no Dragon Kings! You splintered the tribe and crowned yourself ’King,’ and now you dare hope this Emperor will recognize you? What wishful thinking.” Zi Yan’s violet-gold eyes gleamed coldly as her voice carried a majestic reprimand across the blood-drenched battlefield.

The face bearing the North Dragon King’s features twisted into a hideous grin as he swung the crimson sword. Each strike fell with terrifying force, so powerful that even Zi Yan found herself struggling to match it.

This wasn’t their first battle. Each previous encounter had ended with the North Dragon King nearly slain beneath the Dragon Seal’s light. But now, after devouring the West and South Dragon Kings and countless clansmen through the Dragon Transforming Demon Formation, his strength had climbed to a level that even surpassed Zi Yan’s.

If not for the Dragon Seal suppressing his unstable bloodline, his power would have long eclipsed hers entirely—and he would have already summoned the Dragon-Slaying Sword. Then, even the Dragon Emperor herself would have become nothing but prey upon his chopping block.

As the monstrous king’s relentless strikes rained down, Zi Yan clenched her silver teeth, eyes sharp as lightning while her mind raced for a way to turn the tide. Having devoured two Dragon Kings, the North Dragon King was now physically stronger than her. Without the protection of the Dragon Seal, she would already have been overwhelmed.

Because of the Dragon Transforming Demon Formation, the experts from East Dragon Island dared not set foot upon the battlefield. Anyone who entered would be reduced to blood essence—fuel to further strengthen the mad king.

”North Dragon King, turn back now! Your crimes are unforgivable, but your bloodline can still be preserved. If you persist, the entire North Dragon Island—and even the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe—will be destroyed by your hand! You’ll be the sinner who doomed your people!”

”Jie jie jie… sinner? The victor decides who’s right and wrong! If I win today, I will be the new Dragon Emperor of the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe. And you, Zi Yan—you will be the one who divided our clan!”

With a manic laugh, the North Dragon King retreated a step, then thrust his massive hand toward the ground. Three Ancient Void Dragon clansmen screamed in agony as they were seized into the air by invisible force. He flung them like weapons straight at Zi Yan.

Seeing the three blood-veiled figures hurtling toward her, Zi Yan bit her lip, darted forward, and with a lightning-fast strike, pressed her palm upon each of their chests.

Golden light burst forth, dispersing the corrupt blood energy binding them. A wave of Dou Qi surged, and with a gentle push, Zi Yan sent all three beyond the range of the formation.

”Jie jie jie… still softhearted as ever! A true Dragon Emperor must be ruthless. Without cruelty, how can you unite the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe? How can you rule the Beast Region?”

Before Zi Yan could answer, the North Dragon King vanished in a flash of crimson light. He reappeared right before her like a specter, his twisted faces contorting with bloodlust. His enormous, blood-coated hand—radiating a suffocating aura of slaughter—smashed viciously down upon Zi Yan’s shoulder.

Bang!

The sheer force of impact sent waves of corrosive blood Qi surging into her body. Agonizing pain spread instantly through her veins. Zi Yan coughed a mouthful of blood, her figure flung backward under countless horrified gazes.

However, the North Dragon King fared little better. The brilliance of the Dragon Seal’s light had enveloped Zi Yan entirely; by attacking her directly, the corrupted dragon was seared by that divine glow.

White smoke erupted from his flesh as his chaotic bloodline boiled violently, tearing through his veins. The monstrous being howled in agony, the three faces contorting grotesquely as his aura fluctuated wildly—rising to 6-Star strength one moment, crashing to 4-Star the next.

The violent power within him was devouring his sanity. Madness blazed in his six crimson eyes as his voices overlapped in a chorus of rage.

”Kill you… kill you… KILL YOU!”

Just as he lunged forward again, ready to tear Zi Yan apart—

A thunderous gale rolled across the battlefield. Lightning exploded, and a fist the size of a boulder, carrying the power of storm and thunder, smashed straight into the North Dragon King’s face.

Boom!

The monstrous body flew backward like a fired cannonball, crashing deep into the blood-soaked earth.

As the lightning faded, a figure appeared amidst the dispersing storm—a man with dazzling wings unfurled, azure robes fluttering, and long black hair dancing freely in the wind.

Liu Xi.

He turned, his gaze falling on the bloodied Zi Yan. His brow furrowed, a fierce killing intent flashing in his eyes, though his lips curved into a bright, reassuring smile.

”Ran into a little trouble on the way,” he said lightly, ”had to clean it up before rushing here. Fortunately, I wasn’t too late.”

Zi Yan wiped the blood from her mouth. Seeing him appear, her heart finally relaxed, though a flicker of grievance rose within her. She shot him a glare, her lips pursed in mock anger as she huffed, ”Two whole years! And only now you remember me? Found yourself new wives outside, and forgot your little one here, didn’t you?”

Liu Xi could only chuckle awkwardly. Indeed, he had left Zi Yan in the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe for over two years—but he had his reasons.

His gaze shifted toward the grotesque figure struggling to rise—the blood-drenched monster with three faces on one head. Liu Xi’s expression turned cold with disgust. ”You’re uglier than I imagined. Zi Yan, we’ll talk later. I’ll reflect on my sins, I promise. But first…” His smile faded, killing intent surged. ”…let’s deal with the bastard who dared hurt you.”

The North Dragon King’s six eyes glared back murderously. He scanned Liu Xi from head to toe, his chaotic aura flickering as he sensed a mid 4-Star Dou Saint cultivation. His tone grew sharp. ”Boy, this is an internal matter of the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe. You’d best stay out of it. You’re just a 4-Star Dou Saint—don’t overestimate yourself.”

Liu Xi smirked faintly. ”Oh, I’m well aware this concerns the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe. So tell me—why did you send envoys to the Nine Serene Deep Ground Python Tribe? To the Heaven Demon Phoenix Tribe?”

The North Dragon King froze, his expression darkening. ”How do you know that?”

Liu Xi’s smile widened. ”Not only do I know,” he said lazily, ”but I happened to intercept them halfway—and sent them right back where they came from.”

At his words, Zi Yan’s glare toward the North Dragon King deepened, and even the Elders watching from outside the formation turned their wrathful eyes toward the traitor.

”You—!” The North Dragon King’s furious roar shook the sky. No wonder his reinforcements had never arrived. Given the choice, who would want to become a monster like him?
