Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2749: Chapter 2750: No Choice but to Go

As soon as Song Yi waits for them to leave, he can better target the Fusang royal family; isn’t it easier for him to succeed if he lies low?

But if he jumps out, it’s even more dangerous for Bai Ruozhu and the others, and it makes it easier for them to deal with him.

Why does he appear now and even kidnap Fangzi to rescue her?

The goal is probably just one thing, going for Chushuang’s Dragon Pearl.

He knows her personality well, she wouldn’t not rescue Fangzi, but for safety, she wouldn’t venture alone and would definitely bring a lot of people to help.

And at this time, when the rear is empty, it’s the best time for Song Yi and his people to ambush Chushuang.

This strategy is very obvious, but Bai Ruozhu has no choice but to jump into it.

She took a deep breath and said, ”The more at times like this, the more we need to stay calm, tell us the details first, how Fangzi was kidnapped.”

Fangzi’s father nodded vigorously, trying to calm his emotions somewhat.

”Fangzi often goes to the temple to pray for her mother, today she followed her usual habit to ride the horse carriage out, but shortly after leaving, an old woman fell in front of the carriage. The coachman almost hit her, was scared and asked about her condition, the old woman said she was fine and left, the coachman turned back to ask Fangzi but found no one, checked again, only this letter was left in the carriage.”

Bai Ruozhu nodded, ”There was no sound otherwise the coachman would have been alerted; it was probably sleeping powder or...”

Or poisonous insects, she didn’t dare to say this out loud for fear of frightening Fangzi’s father.

”Master Bai, should I report to the officer?” Fangzi’s father asked.

Bai Ruozhu shook her head, ”I will lead people to rescue Fangzi, you don’t report it for now to avoid provoking them. Also, reporting it won’t be helpful, it might make things messier.”

Fangzi’s father had a grateful expression, ”Master Bai, thank you so much, sorry for the trouble.”

”They’re coming for me, it should be me who implicated Fangzi.” Bai Ruozhu sighed, Fangzi’s family was very understanding.

”Don’t blame yourself, you’ve saved His Majesty a few times from peril, the enemies you provoke are because of Fusang; it’s just the ones behind are too sinister.” Fangzi’s father said, gritting his teeth.

No wonder Fangzi is such a nice girl; her family is so sensible.

”Thank you for understanding.” Bai Ruozhu bowed and said.

Soon, Jiang Yichun was brought back, Bai Ruozhu then had Mo Beishan gather other people at the post station, calling astrologer and those like Jianqi who have been in the palace over the past few days as well.

She explained, and everyone quickly understood the situation, Gao Zhou’s knuckles cracked, looking like he was ready to fight.

”You don’t worry about me, this post station is very safe, you try to rescue the child, she’s also implicated by me.” Chushuang said.

”Mother, this trouble was caused by us before, it’s unrelated to you.” Jiang Yichun didn’t want his mother to feel guilty, and quickly explained a few things.

Bai Ruozhu spoke, ”His intentions are clear, so I’m planning to go together with Achun to rescue Fangzi, while the rest of you stay at the post station to protect my mother.”

”I will escort the master and his son-in-law.” Jianqi stepped forward.

Qiu Zhi also hurriedly said, ”Master, let me help too, it’s too dangerous for the two of you.”

Fo Lanying said, ”Have Xiaoyuan set up an array at the posthouse, I will go with you, I’m not weak now either.”

Bai Ruozhu shook her head, ”Their target isn’t a fight to the death but the Dragon Pearl, so the focus should be guarding the posthouse. Besides, it’s more convenient for us to move, if anything happens, we can retreat easily, you should all stay at the posthouse.”

Gao Zhou and Chushuang both disagreed, but neither could outreason Bai Ruozhu and Jiang Yichun; after repeated assurances that they’d be careful and wouldn’t risk their lives, they finally convinced everyone.

As night fell, Bai Ruozhu and Jiang Yichun made thorough preparations, changed into black night garb, brought climbing hooks and hemp rope, well-prepared before heading to the location written in the letter.

Before leaving, Bai Ruozhu was still worried, simply let Xiaohei out to patrol around the posthouse.

Xiaohei seemed very concerned, rubbing its big head against Bai Ruozhu, acting cute and begging to go along, but Bai Ruozhu never agreed.

No sooner had they reached Dongling than footsteps sounded from behind; a black leopard slowly emerged.

”Xiaohei, why don’t you listen?” Bai Ruozhu asked with a stern face.

Xiaohei whimpered in grievance, insisting it would not leave.

Jiang Yichun reached out to pet Xiaohei’s head and said, ”It’s loyal to guard its master; having it along is good too, it can help carry someone once we rescue them.”

Xiaohei hopped a bit, meaning it’d work hard, Bai Ruozhu helplessly let it follow.

Tonight’s moonlight was bright, but it was eerily quiet in the mountains, which shouldn’t be the case under normal circumstances; at least insect sounds shouldn’t vanish.

Unless there’s something here that frightens them, like powerful poisonous insects!

”Song Yi must be nearby, if he’s not at the post station, then it should be that woman who went.” Bai Ruozhu said.

Jiang Yichun held her hand, ”Later, hide behind me, don’t always rush ahead; your medical skills are good, if I get hurt you can save me. But if you’re injured, I’m afraid I won’t know how to save you.”

Bai Ruozhu smiled at him, ”Okay, I’ll realistically weigh pros and cons, at worst I’ll use you as a sandbag in front.”

”Be willing when necessary; we don’t only have each other, the child is still waiting for us.” Jiang Yichun said seriously.

”Alright, I promise you.”

Though this is said, how could she bear to let him be a sandbag?

The two gradually moved towards San Li Po, finally spotting Fangzi on a large tree near the cliff.

She was tied to the tree, and beside her was another woman, her hair disheveled, hard to discern.

Bai Ruozhu instantly thought of Yaxi but shortly calmed down, noting the woman wore coarse peasant clothes, couldn’t be Yaxi.

”Hahaha, I knew you were affectionate and righteous, how could you not come?” Song Yi emerged, all cloaked, with his face hidden by a hood.

If not for differences in body stature and a completely different voice, he really looked like Gufeng in his current state.

”If you’re any slower, the poisonous insects will crawl out of their bellies, then it won’t be me not releasing them but you failing to save them.” Song Yi laughed wildly.

Bai Ruozhu moved closer and saw Fangzi and the woman beside her both had swollen abdomens, their clothes tightly stretched, and beneath the taut clothing seemed something was wriggling.

”B*stard, let me go!” The woman weakly protested in Fusang language, Bai Ruozhu and Jiang Yichun were surprised to find she was Song Yi’s wife, Xizi!

”I can understand you threatening me with Fangzi, but you captured your wife too? A decoy strategy?” Bai Ruozhu mocked.

”You clearly don’t understand poisonous insects; don’t you know these kinds of insects need a male and female to cultivate?” Song Yi sneered contemptuously.
