Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2713: Chapter 2714: Return to the Boat

Could it be Bai Ruozhu? The great elder was the first to suspect her, but quickly dismissed the possibility, firstly, she couldn’t wake the giant turtle, and secondly, she was off the island, completely isolated from them, unable to contact the giant turtle.

Besides, once the giant turtle woke up it swam several thousand meters away, separating her from her subordinates; what benefit would that be to her?

”Get in touch with Wenyu, see where they are,” the great elder said to the people below.

”The left guardian went to fetch Bai Daren of the Jiuli Clan and hasn’t returned yet,” a subordinate replied.

The fourth elder sighed, ”This is troublesome, we’ll have to send someone to find them.”

”Let’s not talk about that now, the urgent matter is stabilizing that turtle!” The great elder said somewhat angrily.

The normally silent third elder finally spoke, ”Find someone to prepare the ritual.”

The great elder nodded, ”Go notify Yuchen Palace to prepare.”

On the island, Jiang Yichun and the others looked serious because the astrologer had already noticed something was wrong and had sought them out for discussion.

”The island is carried by the giant turtle, and now that the giant turtle has suddenly woken up and swum off, Ruozhu hasn’t returned, I’m afraid she’s already several thousand meters away from us,” the astrologer said worriedly, ”and who knows what’s going on with the merfolk over there.”

”They’re not doing it on purpose, are they?” Jiang Yichun asked.

”Probably not, their losses are more severe, but nobody knows what woke the giant turtle, and it seems they haven’t managed to control it smoothly yet,” the astrologer continued, ”I’m suspecting they are going to hold some kind of ritual, we need to find a way to understand it, maybe we can uncover some secrets.”

Jiang Yichun nodded, ”We should go out and investigate, if we’re discovered, we’ll say we’re looking for Ruozhu.”

They discussed it, formed teams of two, and set out in action.

...

In the deep sea, a whale found two unconscious people, dove down and carried them onto its back, enveloping them within the defensive array on its back.

It spouted water, seemingly trying to wake the people on its back, but unfortunately, they showed no response.

The whale appeared somewhat worried and swam slowly onward.

After an unknown period of time, Bai Ruozhu slowly opened her eyes, where was this?

She moved slightly, discovering something heavy pressing on her. When she saw clearly that it was Wenyu, she angrily kicked him hard, kicking him to the side.

If her Achun knew, he’d definitely kill Wenyu!

”Where is this?” she asked, but unfortunately, the whale couldn’t talk to her.

Despite her anger, her gaze still fell on Wenyu, fearing that now only Wenyu could find the merfolk island.

She went over to feel Wenyu’s pulse, only to find he was badly injured, with numerous wounds on his back and significant internal injuries.

The back...

She suddenly recalled how Wenyu had shielded her, then abruptly turned and hugged her, his back facing forward.

The damage was caused by that giant turtle!

Her eyes widened, if Wenyu hadn’t helped block, these wounds would have been on her.

So she misunderstood Wenyu, his actions weren’t disrespectful to her but were meant to protect her.

She sighed, such an accident wasn’t what Wenyu wanted, and after all, he did protect her; she still decided to find a way to save him.

She took out a silver needle to treat Wenyu, and gave him some medicine, tended to the wounds on his back, and sutured the deeper ones directly.

After finishing everything, Wenyu still showed no signs of waking, Bai Ruozhu felt distressed; he wasn’t just physically injured, it seemed his divine sense was harmed by the giant turtle’s sound waves.

As the whale swam, it suddenly began to spin on the spot, as if unsure which direction to take.

Bai Ruozhu felt anxious, with Wenyu not awake, how could she know the direction? It would be better to return to the place where they docked rather than risk swimming in the wrong direction and getting farther away, perhaps the elders on merfolk island would find a way to bring them back.

”Return to where I disembarked, do you know how to get there?” Bai Ruozhu pronounced each word slowly to the whale, and the whale seemed to understand, turned around, and swam back, finally breaching the surface to reveal the Harmony not far away.

She called for help from the boat, and together they lifted Wenyu onto the boat.

”Master, what happened?” Yizi asked in panic.

Bai Ruozhu wanted to speak truthfully but feared that too many people knowing the merfolk’s secret would cause significant trouble.

”It seems the barrier of merfolk island has some issues, and there was just a disturbance; are you all okay?” she asked.

”Scared us to death; we thought another deep-sea monster was coming out,” Yizi patted her chest.

It’s more than just deep-sea monsters; that giant turtle is the most profound and mysterious existence in the deep sea.

”This is Wenyu, the left guardian of the merfolk; he was injured by the barrier’s disturbance, let him recuperate on the boat now, and when the merfolk repair the barrier, they’ll come out to find us,” Bai Ruozhu said.

Yizi nodded, ”Who knows how long it will take, master and Jianqi must be terribly worried.”

Bai Ruozhu sighed, ”I’m the one worried about them.”

She was outside, at least on her own turf, surrounding herself with her own people, no danger, but Achun and the others were on the merfolk’s territory, where they are cunning, who knows what might happen.

But now she doesn’t even know where the merfolk island has gone, not a bit of a way out.

She could only use her inner strength to help Wenyu warm his meridians and cautiously probe into Wenyu’s divine sense sea with her divine sense, a task certainly easier done by Fo Lanying.

By nighttime, Wenyu finally woke up.

He grabbed her hand, ”Are you okay?”

Bai Ruozhu frowned and quickly pulled back her hand, ”I’m fine; you’re seriously injured.”

Wenyu’s expression was a bit awkward; he was too anxious.

”Where is this?” he asked.

”You were unconscious for a long time; the whale didn’t know what to do, so I asked it to bring us back to the boat, fortunately it seemed to understand my words,” Bai Ruozhu said.

Wenyu was somewhat surprised; he hadn’t expected the whale listened to Bai Ruozhu.

”Don’t worry, the barrier has some issues but it’ll be fixed soon,” Wenyu hinted.

”I also guessed the barrier had disturbances, when your island repairs it, it’ll open up, you should get some rest,” Bai Ruozhu stood up, ”I’m going to rest.”

”Um... thank you!” Wenyu said awkwardly.

Bai Ruozhu smiled, ”I should be thanking you; otherwise, I would have been hurt by the barrier’s disturbance.”

Wenyu smiled, ”It’s my duty; no thanks needed.”

Bai Ruozhu returned to her room but couldn’t sleep peacefully, after a day of turmoil and sustaining injuries, she was fatigued, but her mind couldn’t rest, closing her eyes she couldn’t sleep.

Then, the door was knocked, and Yizi’s voice came from outside: ”Master, Xiaoyuan says everything is ready, do you want to participate in the ceremony?”

It was Aluo’s sea burial ceremony; Bai Ruozhu got up, unexpectedly able to send Aluo off amidst this situation.
