Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2724: Chapter 2725: Cleansing the Sect

Bai Ruozhu was empathetic towards Yuchenzi’s situation; the Giant Turtle had moved again, and Yuchenzi really didn’t know what she would encounter.

But when Yuchenzi heard Feng Cheng’s words, she hurriedly shook her head, ”You must be careful. Those elders are not simple, or else they wouldn’t be able to control the whole Merfolk Island. Moreover, there are many aristocrats supporting them, some are in the dark, even I don’t know.”

”There are also some secrets that only the great elder knows. If you kill the person, I’m afraid leaving the Island will be difficult.”

Feng Cheng wanted to say he could come and go as he pleased, but thinking it over, only he himself could do so freely. Even if he took others along, they might not withstand the pressure brought by traversing through the Barriers.

Bai Ruozhu thought for a moment and directly said, ”I want to find the Dragon Ball on the Island. Do you know where it’s hidden?”

Yuchenzi’s face changed dramatically, ”I don’t know. Only the makers can get close to the Dragon Ball, but even so, they can only approach, and not see it. The Dragon Ball is too important to Merfolk Island. Without it, everyone will revert to fish tails.”

”But it’s precisely because of the Dragon Ball that all can’t live past thirty. Cultivating the holy maiden is just so a few people benefit and live a long life. But what do ordinary merfolk get?” Bai Ruozhu retorted, ”That dragon still lives. Returning the Dragon Ball can lift the Curse, allowing the merfolk to live past thirty. Even if they revert to fish tails, surviving is the greatest happiness, isn’t it?”

She also considered, if Achun was freed from the Curse, would he also turn into fish tails, unable to revert to human legs?

This possibility was small, but if true, she was willing to strive for it. As long as Achun lived, they could grow old together; turning into fish tails would be nothing.

”Master, someone’s coming in!” Agate exclaimed anxiously.

Yuchenzi’s face changed dramatically, ”So soon? No, you must hide first, nothing must happen to you.”

She thought for a moment, then said to Agate, ”Take them to hide with Chushuang first.”

”But Master, you...” Agate’s eyes turned red with urgency.

”Silly child, they won’t hold the ritual so soon. It’s not too late to hide and plan again.” Yuchenzi smiled serenely, as if even dying in the next moment would be a relief for her.

Agate gritted her teeth and said to Bai Ruozhu and Feng Cheng, ”Come with me.”

The three quickly rounded the rear cave and entered the place where Chushuang stayed.

Feng Cheng was surprised upon seeing Chushuang, ”Who is she?”

”She is Achun’s birth mother,” Bai Ruozhu said softly.

Chushuang awoke and asked, ”What’s going on outside?”

Agate started crying, ”The Giant Turtle has moved again, they came to capture my master. Master asked me to take Lord Bai here to hide.”

Chushuang’s expression changed, ”Why did it move again? I only awakened it once.”

After speaking, she regretted it, apologetically saying to Agate, ”Child, don’t blame me. I just wanted to rescue Feng Ran. She is my master, and over the years has borne too much for me, but I don’t know why the Giant Turtle moved again, nor do I want to harm Yuchen Palace.”

Agate was stunned, eyes filled with anger, but soon laughed grimly, ”Different positions, who’s to blame? Even without you, we all must offer blood sooner or later.”

”Forget about that for now, do you know why the Giant Turtle woke up?” Bai Ruozhu asked, looking at Feng Cheng, thinking he might know more given his long life.

Feng Cheng shook his head, ”I’ve been on land, unfamiliar with things in the sea.”

Chushuang pondered, ”Maybe with time, merfolk gradually can’t control the Giant Turtle anymore. Or perhaps because the Giant Turtle grew in age and strength, merfolk’s control waned.”

”Then if the Giant Turtle gains strength and breaks free from merfolk control, what will happen?” Bai Ruozhu worriedly asked.

Chushuang scoffed, ”If you were controlled for hundreds of years, raised like livestock, what would you do?”

The ground trembled again with a loud rumble.

Bai Ruozhu’s face changed, ”I feel anger, boundless anger.”

”The Giant Turtle is not easy to provoke, but since you’re not merfolk, it won’t target you. Hurry, take everyone and leave,” Chushuang said.

”No, what about you if we leave? Besides, I haven’t found the Dragon Ball yet.” Bai Ruozhu immediately opposed.

Agate also cried, ”Senior, can you think of a way to save my master? I’m afraid they might lose their minds and take her life.”

Chushuang considered, ”There’s only one way, unite all of you to protect Yuchenzi, though you might not be able to defeat so many merfolk.”

”How will we know without trying?” Bai Ruozhu squinted, ”We’ll go arrange first, you must take care, I’ll find a way to save you.”

”I won’t die yet; don’t worry.” Chushuang smiled weakly, expression stiff and bitter.

Bai Ruozhu felt a pang in her heart, called, ”Mom, I’m leaving now.”

Chushuang froze, tears suddenly flowed, ”Good child, take care.”

She hadn’t heard her son call her ”Mom,” but hearing her daughter-in-law call her ”Mom” filled her with contentment.

Bai Ruozhu and Feng Cheng left the cave, bypassing a group of the great elder’s people, and finally exited Yuchen Palace.

”How did she end up like that? Without the Array sustaining her, she would’ve died.” Feng Cheng said sadly.

Bai Ruozhu’s eyes burned with rage, ”Did you think those old merfolk survived by eating her flesh!”

”What!” Feng Cheng was furious, ”Merfolk were originally servants of the Jiuli Clan, also exiled criminals. Jiuli, stationed on land, didn’t want to bring them along, coupled with the kind-heartedness of the former clan leader, they didn’t want to trap them in a small Lake, so granted them freedom, yet they ended up like this!”

His aura surged with killing intent, ”Better to kill them all!”

Bai Ruozhu quickly stopped him, ”Those merfolk elders deserved death, but many ordinary merfolk were unaware and controlled by the aristocrats, so not all should be killed.”

”Alright, I’ll follow your advice, but this door needs cleansing.” Feng Cheng waved his hand, producing a Treasure Sword. Bai Ruozhu had never seen him wield a sword, as his empty hands already held great power, was this a sign to unleash havoc?

They returned to the bamboo house, everyone anxious, surprised upon seeing Feng Cheng.

”Feng Cheng, Jiuli, reinforcements,” Bai Ruozhu introduced simply.

”Giant Turtle moved again, I saw a group of merfolk heading to the west Beach, I thought they were going to capture you.” Jiang Yichun said worriedly.

Bai Ruozhu took his arm, ”They went to capture Yuchenzi; I want to rescue her.”

She briefly explained the situation to everyone, omitting matters related to Chushuang, Feng Cheng noticed her silence and didn’t comment further.

They were all enraged upon hearing, those old merfolk were too vicious, how could they exploit and consume those girls?
