Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2740: Chapter 2741: Chushuang Disappears

These days, Gao Zhou had been wandering around Kyoto with Chushuang. The two had rekindled their youthful spirit, and though their hair was like frost, in each other’s eyes, they were still the best.

”Ajiang, the wagashi from that shop looks pretty good,” Chushuang said with a smile.

”I’ll buy some for you,” Gao Zhou grinned naively like a young boy and ran over to queue with the others, making Chushuang giggle as she covered her mouth.

Suddenly, a merfolk song echoed in her ears, and her heart skipped a beat. Have the merfolk come to Fusang?

She wanted to tell Gao Zhou, but for some reason, the singing seemed to be bewitching her. Unknowingly, she started walking step by step towards an Alley not far away, gradually disappearing from sight.

When Gao Zhou bought the wagashi and returned to the original spot, he could no longer find any trace of Chushuang.

A bad feeling struck him, and in his urgency, he began to shout. The wagashi in his hand fell to the ground, rolled a few times, collecting dust.

”Are you looking for the woman who was with you just now? I saw her heading towards that Alley.” A noble-looking woman beside him said, speaking surprisingly in the Zhongyuan Language.

”Was there anyone with her?” Gao Zhou asked urgently.

The woman shook her head, ”She was alone, but she looked rather strange.”

Gao Zhou thanked her and chased into the Alley, but he found no trace of Chushuang. He was on the verge of losing his mind.

After searching for over twenty years to find his lost love, could it be that he had lost her again just like this?

Fortunately, he managed to regain some sanity and sent up a Signal Flare.

Bai Ruozhu and Jiang Yichun were in the Yard organizing the shopping list to take back to Zhongyuan when they suddenly saw the signal. Both were startled and urgently gathered people to head out.

”Dad, what’s wrong? Where’s my mom?” Jiang Yichun, not seeing Chushuang, immediately felt a sense of foreboding.

”She asked me to buy wagashi, and when I turned around, she was gone. Someone saw her walking off on her own. I’ve searched everywhere around here but found nothing,” Gao Zhou said, eyes red with urgency.

”How could she have just walked off on her own?” Jiang Yichun shouted in desperation.

Bai Ruozhu quickly went over to hold him back, glaring at him fiercely, ”Stay calm, your dad is even more anxious right now.”

Jiang Yichun realized the truth of it; indeed, if anyone in this world would be more Nervous about his mom, it would surely be his dad.

”Dad, I’m sorry, we’ll surely think of a way,” Jiang Yichun apologized.

Gao Zhou took a deep breath, ”We are unfamiliar with Kyoto after all. You should go to the Imperial Palace and ask the Emperor to send people to search. Ruozhu, go seek the help of the Astrology Gang for Divination. I’ll continue searching with Qiu Zhi and the others.”

Gao Zhou’s arrangement was very sensible, and Bai Ruozhu quickly nodded in agreement.

They split into three groups and each took action.

Bai Ruozhu quickly found the Astrologer at a private mansion in the Capital. He was no longer staying at the Astrologer Family’s house, as the people from the family kept bothering him. To avoid disturbing Bai Ruozhu and Ning Yu, he temporarily stayed at a private property of his in Kyoto.

”What, someone is targeting Chushuang? Could it be those great elders?” The Astrologer’s face darkened; after that day, those great elders disappeared. Too many unexpected things happened, and no one had been keeping an eye on them.

Bai Ruozhu shook his head, ”I actually think it’s related to Song Yi, he must have used some method to control her.”

”Why would Song Yi target her? Did he discover that Chushuang is important to you?” The Astrologer was puzzled, ”He should have already found out that we are leaving soon. Wouldn’t it be more convenient for him to stay hidden until we’ve left to act?”

”That’s why I suspect he’s after the Dragon Ball,” Bai Ruozhu squinted, ”that’s the only thing worth him risking conflict with us. If he waits, my mom would leave Fusang, and he’d lose his chance.”

The Astrologer nodded, ”You are right; if it’s the Dragon Ball, then it is manageable. Perhaps my brother and I together can Divine its location.”

He was unfamiliar with Chushuang, so Divining her would be difficult, but if it were the Dragon Ball, the chances would increase since Bai Long was with Bai Ruozhu.

The two didn’t dare delay and rushed to the Posthouse to explain the situation to Ning Yu.

Ning Yu, who was caring for Diao Bin, didn’t expect such a serious incident and became Nervous as well.

”Take this Talisman and use it by Bai Long according to my spell; the Talisman will absorb Bai Long’s Qi, and we can find the Dragon Ball by following that Qi,” the Astrologer explained.

”I’ll go now.” Bai Ruozhu, not hiding from them, directly entered the Space.

Ning Yu and the Astrologer began setting up the Magic Array, as the Dragon Ball was powerful, a very strong Magic Array was needed to locate it.

Very soon, Bai Ruozhu returned with the Talisman and handed it to the two, then stepped aside.

At this moment, Jiang Yichun also returned from the Palace; the Emperor had already dispatched people to search the City.

”How is it going?” he asked worriedly.

”Your father hasn’t sent back any news, likely has found nothing. All hopes rest here now,” she pointed at the Magic Array.

The Magic Array began to operate, specks of starlight floated out from the Talisman, gradually converging to form a Firefly, which flew out.

”It worked, follow it and we’ll find her,” the Astrologer said, falling to the ground with a pale face, while Ning Yu wasn’t in a good state either.

”You all need to catch up; we can’t help much after this,” Ning Yu said weakly, the Magic Array having consumed a lot of their sssence.

Diao Bin rushed out to help, and Bai Ruozhu sent out a Signal, ”Let’s pursue first; we’ll leave marks along the way to guide them to catch up later.”

”Okay.”

Bai Ruozhu and Jiang Yichun chased the Firefly while leaving marks, but unexpectedly, the Firefly flew towards the Imperial Palace.

”My mom is in the Palace?” Jiang Yichun was somewhat shocked, especially having just visited there.

Bai Ruozhu frowned, ”Song Yi must have some hidden means in the Palace; putting her there would indeed confuse us better.”

The two followed the Firefly into the Palace; fortunately, they were favored by the Emperor, and the guards did not stop them.

Finally, the Firefly flew into Linzhi Palace.

”Empress Shangzi’s Palace?” Jiang Yichun inquired.

Bai Ruozhu nodded solemnly, deciding to check inside first.

Suddenly, the Firefly transformed into sparkling dots of light and disappeared. It was unclear whether it had reached its destination, completing its mission, or had exhausted its energy.

Soon, Empress Shangzi personally came out to greet them, wearing a smile, ”Ruozhu, you finally have time to visit me, how have you been? Has it been hard work?”

Bai Ruozhu tried to stay calm, smiling as she replied, ”I’ve been quite tired before, but managed to recuperate and visit Your Highness, I hope you won’t mind.”

”Of course not, I can’t thank you all enough, were it not for you, the Emperor...” Empress Shangzi said, tears welling up in her eyes, she quickly dabbed at her eyes with a handkerchief to suppress the tears.
