Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2747: Chapter 2748: Too Many Visitors

Jiang Yichun left happily to investigate Song Yi’s matter, while Bai Ruozhu sluggishly got out of bed to eat the meal brought by Teng Ya.

”Master, I heard from Sister Yizi that you didn’t want to send food to the Prince, so I didn’t send him any. Who knew he would run to the kitchen himself to eat,” said Teng Ya, puffing up her cheeks indignantly.

”Huh?” Bai Ruozhu almost spit out her porridge, ”The Prince is really that desperate for food?”

”I also said he behaves like he hasn’t eaten in several lifetimes. He even mentioned he must go to Zhongyuan to eat his fill,” Teng Ya laughed, showing her bright white teeth.

Bai Ruozhu gave everyone toothpaste, and they all followed her lead in the habit of brushing their teeth and taking care of their teeth, making everyone’s teeth very white.

”Alright, I’ll go see him later. He’s determined to go to Zhongyuan,” Bai Ruozhu said helplessly.

Teng Ya showed a look of longing, ”I’ve always been on the boat, I also want to go and have a look.”

”Don’t worry, I’ll make sure you eat and drink well,” Bai Ruozhu said gleefully.

Suddenly, a voice chimed in, ”Can’t you take me to eat and drink well?”

Just after the voice sounded, the Prince walked in with a face full of grievances.

Bai Ruozhu glanced at him, ”No, I only like taking little sisters.”

”Then I can be your disciple,” the Prince said.

”I only take medical students as disciples, you lack the intuition for medicine, so I can’t take you!” Bai Ruozhu refused bluntly.

”Then, I’ll take Jiang master as my teacher.” The Prince conceded.

Bai Ruozhu burst into laughter, ”You could try, but don’t say I didn’t warn you, being his disciple won’t make you happy.”

The Prince, perhaps not catching her meaning, said with a smile, ”I’ll soon go ask Lord Jiang, I can endure any hardship.”

”Haha.” Bai Ruozhu chuckled mischievously, ”Young one, you’re too naive.”

The Prince found a spot to sit down by himself, staring blankly at a table full of food.

Bai Ruozhu slowly ate her breakfast, rinsed her mouth, and then said, ”Have you really decided to go to Danliang Country? The journey is arduous and fraught with risks, have you thought it through?”

”Of course I’ve thought it through, I don’t want to remain entirely unacquainted with new experiences,” the Prince replied.

”So you really plan to marry a Danliang Princess?” Bai Ruozhu raised an eyebrow, ”Have you given up that thought?”

He understood what thought she referred to, his face turned red, ”I’ve given it up, I know that idea was distorted. The problem was I went out too little and met too few people. Perhaps this time, I’ll encounter a Zhongyuan girl I like.”

”Danliang Country doesn’t have many princesses, if you want an alliance, it might have to be with daughters of the nobility,” Bai Ruozhu reminded him.

”No problem, identity isn’t important, what’s important is whether I have feelings for her,” he answered.

Bai Ruozhu nodded slightly, seemingly seeing that he truly understood now.

Meanwhile, Diao Bin worriedly said, ”You say the Prince of Fusang wants to form an alliance with Danliang, could he possibly know something?”

She was referring to her identity.

”No matter what he knows, we don’t need to pay attention, your mother also agrees you don’t need to go back,” Ning Yu said, putting his arm around her shoulder.

”But what about you? Giving up the Astrology Tower, can you face the deceased National Master?” Diao Bin had always felt guilty because of this.

Ning Yu smiled, ”Silly, my teacher is the most open-minded person. He once said he doesn’t want anything to bind me, the Astrology Tower is just there as a backup in case people bully me. I used to be so foolish, he even entrusted Ruozhu to look after me.”

Diao Bin laughed, ”You’re not foolish, you’re pure-hearted.”

”Diao Bin.” Ning Yu grasped her hand, gazing at her deeply, ”Once we’re back in Zhongyuan, we’ll find the Empress Dowager and Mr. Yao to host our wedding.”

Diao Bin blushed, nodding and saying, ”Okay, I’ll do as you say.”

The Prince lingered at the posthouse until noon, unwilling to leave, claiming he’s had little to do recently and insisting on staying to freeload meals.

At noon, the posthouse people would gather to dine, Ning Yu glared at him unpleasantly, saying, ”We have important matters to discuss, your precious status as the Prince is truly inconvenient.”

”Because I’m a Fusang person? Isn’t Sa Tian here too?” The Prince asked unwillingly.

”Your special status makes us uncomfortable,” Ning Yu said icily.

The Prince was embarrassed, turned to Bai Ruozhu for help, and quietly asked, ”Did I offend him?”

Bai Ruozhu stifled her laughter, ”You did, he’s my senior, I can’t help you.”

Finally, the Prince had to leave dejectedly, never knowing why he had offended Ning Yu.

Diao Bin felt a bit apologetic, softly saying to Ning Yu, ”He knows nothing, maybe don’t show it too obviously. If he guesses it later, it’ll be bad.”

Ning Yu responded dully, ”Next time, I’ll save him some face.”

”Senior, your temper is usually so good, it’s rare to see you like this, you’re cracking me up,” Bai Ruozhu said, laughing heartily.

Ning Yu blushed slightly, ”Should I persuade the Princess of Fusang to go to Danliang, then as the National Master, I’ll propose to the Emperor to let Lord Jiang form an alliance with Fusang?”

Before Bai Ruozhu could speak, Diao Bin hit him lightly, ”You dare!”

Bai Ruozhu laughed heartily, ”Senior, don’t get cocky with me, someone can take care of you.”

”Alright, alright, I’m afraid of you,” Ning Yu chuckled shyly, Diao Bin glared at him with a flushed face, ”No bullying Ruozhu.”

Ning Yu looked innocent, ”Who can bully her? It’s always her bullying others.”

Unexpectedly, after lunch, another visitor came to the posthouse, this time a woman wearing a gauze cap, hiding her face, indicating she came incognito.

”Master Bai, I apologize for the disturbance,” Empress Yazi removed her hat, revealing a somewhat haggard face. It hasn’t been long since they last met, yet her temples are already streaked with gray.

”Empress Yazi, what brings you here?” Bai Ruozhu asked in surprise.

Yazi respectfully bowed, ”I’m here firstly to thank you, and secondly to ask for your help regarding that child Ya’an.”

Bai Ruozhu invited her to sit, pouring her some tea.

Facing this woman, Bai Ruozhu couldn’t bring herself to like her, after all, Empress Yazi had done many things in the past that made her uncomfortable. But she also understood Empress Yazi was manipulated by the Poisonous Insect, those actions weren’t her original intent, and she felt some sympathy for Yazi.

”I made too many mistakes before, even harmed my own daughter. If I hadn’t been forcing Ya’an to marry Prince Wen De, she wouldn’t be where she is now.” Empress Yazi wiped the corners of her eyes, her face already lined with crow’s feet, aging much more than Empress Shangzi who was of similar age.

Bai Ruozhu sighed, ”But what can I do for her? She’s adamant about marrying Prince Wen De.”

”The child is soft-hearted; she’s worried about us, hence insisting on staying in the palace. She used to hate the concept of marriage within the Imperial family, thinking it absurd, but now...” Empress Yazi paused, lowering her voice, ”I think she’s decided to remain a nominal couple with Prince Wen De for life.”
