Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

He took two puffs of the cigarette between his fingers. The red dot flashed for a long time. Before he finished the cigarette, Luke extinguished it in the ashtray with all his might. He left his room that had the smell of smoke and knocked on Xia Jinyuan’s room door.

Cobra didn’t let Xia Jinyuan be on duty tonight, nor did he let Luke be on duty. The two of them were his path of retreat. When he needed them, he would naturally let them appear.

Hearing the knock on the door, Xia Jinyuan looked through the peephole and smiled. He opened the door, and the smell of smoke wafted over. Xia Jinyuan revealed a disdainful expression and blocked Luke’s way with his long legs. ”If you have anything to say, say it here.”

His disdain made Luke touch his forehead. ”Buddy, can you be a little more like a man and not be as clean as a woman? I want to sit in your room.”

”You should go to the woman’s room, not mine.”

Xia Jinyuan was unmoved and continued to stop him.

The closed door opposite opened. The bodyguard who was always by Cobra’s side was standing at the door. He said to Xia Jinyuan, ”Mr. Cobra said that you guys should rest. Xia, let him in. Don’t cause trouble.”

Only then did Xia Jinyuan raise his long legs and let Luke in.

The bodyguard then closed the door.

”Xia, I feel a little uneasy about the riot planned tonight. The Chinese ambassador won’t be so stupid as to fall for it so easily, right?” After entering, Luke frowned and said uneasily, ”He has two staff members with him. Why do I feel that they don’t look like ordinary staff members? They look like bodyguards.”

Hearing this, Xia Jinyuan glanced at him and thought to himself, ’This fellow is indeed a soldier. He’s always so sensitive to people with the same temperament.’

”Are you afraid that something will happen to you?” Xia Jinyuan sat on the couch and looked up at Luke, who was leaning against the bar counter. ”Such things have happened too many times. You don’t have to worry.”

”What I want to say is that if something really happens, you should protect yourself. To tell you the truth, Cobra seems to trust you, but if he finds out that he’s in danger, he’ll definitely push you out to take the bullets for him. Just like that time in Myanmar, he chose to give up on you without hesitation.

”If such a thing happens again, Xia, you have to live for yourself. Do you understand?”

It turned out that Luke was reminding Xia Jinyuan that he had to protect himself during the Russian mission tonight.

They had been partners for more than a year, and they shared a friendship.

Xia Jinyuan didn’t say anything, but his gaze turned colder. He stared at Luke without blinking. ”I’m working for Mr. Cobra now. He’s in control of my life. I’m sorry, but I can’t do what you just told me to.

”There’s still a fierce battle tonight. I need to rest early. Goodbye.”

Xia Jinyuan, who didn’t plan to reveal his identity, stood up and walked into his room. Behind him, Luke’s facial expression changed. He stared at Xia Jinyuan’s back for a long time. Just as Xia Jinyuan entered the bedroom and was about to close the door, he raised his voice and said in a low voice, ”I hope you can live well, my partner. Live well for yourself.”

”You’re acting very strangely tonight. Find a woman to sleep with you and everything will be normal again.” After Xia Jinyuan finished speaking, he closed the door.

Standing behind the door, he heard the sound of the main door closing after a while.

Luke wanted to tell him that Russia had put him on the must-kill list. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have emphasized ’living well’.

This was a little tricky.

It was a little difficult to escape unscathed from the hands of the special forces.

Xia Jinyuan sat by the bed and cleaned up the bullets while thinking about how he could escape safely.
