Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Ye Jian laughed. ”I don’t mind. Just don’t mind me if I talk too much.”

”What are you talking about? You don’t know that many students want to talk to you and learn from you.” Song Zhiqiu smiled too. He wasn’t flattering her. One could indeed learn a lot by chatting with Ye Jian.

That was because she was standing at a height that they had yet to reach. She could guide them and let them learn from her experience so that they could reach a higher height faster.

In the next two hours, Song Zhiqiu chatted with Ye Jian. He talked about her studies, military discussions, and her personal opinions on the future development of the military.

Many years later, when Song Zhiqiu saw Ye Jian appearing on the news broadcast, he could still remember what he and Ye Jian talked about that rainy night.

Two hours seemed to pass by very quickly. Ye Jian saw a row of flashlights appearing at the school gate. She saw the students who were returning in formation in the wind and rain.

This was the first time that the students didn’t even have a company instructor. They participated in the entire outdoor survival training, and the weather was so bad. When Song Zhiqiu saw them coming back, he wanted to get up and welcome them but was stopped by Ye Jian’s cold voice. ”There’s no need to go over. They’re soldiers, not children.”

She retracted her raised leg and stood in the corridor on the first floor, waiting for the six people to come over.

The group of six people had already seen two figures standing in the corridor. Their military boots stepped on the rainwater-covered ground, and they quickened their pace.

”Line up!”

”Attention!”

”At ease!”

”Count!”

…

”Two catties of tea leaves, escape rope, and patrol trajectory… Report, our team has completed the courage training. Please give your instructions!”

Liu Yang, who was in charge of leading the team, stood in the rain and reported to Ye Jian and Song Zhiqiu, who had been waiting for their return.

Ye Jian walked from the corridor into the heavy rain. Her military boots stepped on a puddle of water. The mud slightly splattered. She, who was dry, was drenched in the rain like the returning students.

Ye Jian walked by the six of them and saw the old tea leaves in their hands. She randomly picked a student and grabbed the old tea leaves he picked.

Not bad. They were all leaves. There was not a single tea stem. It could be seen that he was very calm when he plucked them.

Just think about it. The small hill beside them was a cemetery. It was raining at night, and everyone was picking tea leaves at a distance of five meters. The fear brought about by the environment was already deep enough. They even had to pick two catties of old tea leaves. This kind of courage training was definitely difficult without a certain amount of courage.

In the end, Ye Jian walked in front of Xu Wen and stopped in her tracks. She asked Xu Wen to turn on the flashlight in her hand and shine it on her face. Her face had been drenched by the rain for a long time, so her skin was a little pale. However, she didn’t look pitiful. All Ye Jian could see was Xu Wen’s tenacity against the wind and rain.

Especially when she pursed her lips. Ye Jian felt at ease.

”Not bad, well done,” Ye Jian said softly as she put down the tea leaves picked by Xu Wen.

The woman from the capital city didn’t cry no matter how frightened she was just now. However, when she heard Ye Jian’s words, her eyes turned red.

Ye Jian couldn’t help but smile when she saw this. She reached out and hugged Xu Wen’s shoulder. She smiled and said, ”You’re still like a child. Your eyes turned red after a compliment. But it’s not embarrassing at all. Alright, alright, calm down. I just said that you’re brave, but you’re letting me eat my own words now.”

Xu Wen was stubborn. She lowered her voice and replied, ”I’m not crying. I’m just excited.”

Just as Ye Jian was about to praise her, she saw a few swaying flashlights coming from outside the school gate. Then, the people shouted loudly in the rain. No one understood what they said.
