Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Ye Jian said in a low voice, ”We have to go over. We’re not familiar with the old man, so we don’t know where he went. Let the villagers look for him. We’ll save the villagers buried under the collapsed house.”

Soon, the village official waiting outside saw more than ten soldiers with flashlights appear. At that moment, he heaved a sigh of relief. He knew that the villagers buried under the house were saved.

The older generation had always said that the most reliable people were soldiers!

He believed in the ten soldiers in front of him now!

”The first household has four people—two grandparents and two children. The eldest child is in the fourth grade while the youngest child is only in the first grade. The second household has five people in the second household—two grandparents and two grandchildren. One child is four years old and one is two. The fifth person is an elderly who’s 80-year-old.

”A disaster came out of nowhere. All of a sudden, the houses collapsed! Everyone is buried inside. I wonder if they’re still alive!”

The village official was so anxious that he couldn’t speak properly. They were all acquaintances. During the day, they even greeted each other. In the end, when the houses collapsed at night, everyone was buried!

There was still a distance between the two households. Ye Jian immediately divided the 15 people into groups. She led eight people and Song Zhiqiu led seven people to the two families whose houses had collapsed.

It was raining heavily, and the mud brick houses had suddenly collapsed. In the past, similar things had happened in Shuikou Village, and it wasn’t just once or twice.

”First, you have to ensure your own safety. Leave two people to observe the surroundings. If you see signs of a second collapse, retreat immediately! Don’t force yourself!

”When you reach the destination, you have to confirm the exact location of the villagers. For instance, the villagers are already asleep at this time of the night. The location they’re buried in is most likely in the bedroom. First, search the bedrooms. Pay attention to the beams of the house. The beams of old houses are all built from fir trees in the mountains. They’re quite heavy. You have to be careful of the beams.”

There was no time to gather and remind them. Ye Jian ran as she reminded the students around her. The villagers needed to be rescued, but their safety was also important!

When Song Zhiqiu left with his team, he said to Ye Jian seriously, ”You need to be careful. Don’t put yourself in danger. Nothing must happen to you!”

”Nothing must happen to any of us. No one. Vice-Captain, I’ll leave the safety of the students to you.”

Ye Jian didn’t expect to encounter such a dangerous emergency during the outdoor survival training. She couldn’t help but feel worried. However, the students were not useless. After all, they were trained in the military school. In the future, they would all become primary level military officers in the military unit. They all had their own capabilities. She felt more at ease thinking this.

They parted ways on a narrow path. Ye Jian brought her group of students and continued walking up. Song Zhiqiu brought his group of students to their destination.

The village official could tell who was the leader now. He panted as he led the way and said to Ye Jian, ”This family is pitiful. Their daughter-in-law thought that the family was poor, so she ran away after giving birth to the second child. The son went out to look for her, but he never came back even though the son is already in the first grade.

”The old couple has to raise their two grandchildren now. They don’t have much to eat and wear. If Harbour City hadn’t sponsored the two children to go to school, their family would have had a harder time.

”They’re already so pitiful, but God still wants to torture the two of them. Now, they don’t even have a home!”

Xu Wen’s eyes turned red.

But now, she wasn’t concerned about how difficult life was for that family. Ye Jian asked calmly, ”Did the villagers hear anything? Did they call out to the family? Did they respond?”
