Three Towers Game

Chapter 390: Chapter 131: Breakthrough with Killing

Master Lingqing initially thought Wen Xishu was joking.

In his heart, he had no recourse against that person who could foresee all future changes.

In Master Lingqing’s eyes, as long as they were in this world, on this timeline... anyone from Rokkasho was merely a toy of ”that person.”

Including himself.

Many times, Master Lingqing tried to avert disasters, but when he arrived at the scene, he was framed as the perpetrator of the disaster under ”that person’s” manipulation.

This situation put increasing pressure on Master Lingqing.

From a mage who could easily beg for food, he turned into a source of misfortune that everyone shunned.

And that person kept altering those who could have crucial impacts on the future.

Such a person...

Really made Master Lingqing feel it’s difficult to cope. If a person could infinitely revert to the past, how could you defeat him?

The only external factor could not resort to violence. Under such circumstances, the situation was extremely hard to resolve.

Yet, Wen Xishu claimed he could kill his way through Rokkasho.

Wen Xishu said:

”I do not speak lightly. In my timeline, this island almost killed me several times, it truly is a place of extreme distortion and collapse.”

”But the current situation is different. Mage, why not first talk about everything that’s happened here, the original state of this island?”

”And yourself, what’s your story?”

Seeing Wen Xishu’s spirited demeanor, Master Lingqing unexpectedly felt a glimmer of hope.

After a moment of thought, he said:

”Since you’ve asked, I shall tell you truthfully.”

...

...

Master Lingqing began to recount the past.

In the past, due to radiation issues, many people stayed away from Rokkasho, and there were inherently many deformed people on this island.

But the Island Country, to masquerade peace externally, had always sent a lot of people into Rokkasho.

They heavily propagated how great Rokkasho was and gave substantial living allowances to those who moved there.

Because of this, Master Lingqing began to realize...

A myriad of disasters might befall Rokkasho.

He had been abandoned by his parents when he was young and was taken in by a mage who performed exorcisms for the deceased.

Before the apocalypse arrived, Master Lingqing always thought his job was to ease the living, to give peace to the dead.

But as the apocalypse neared...

Some with potential started to awaken abilities, like Tang Rui, like Jack.

Master Lingqing was astonished to find that he too had gained some sort of ability.

He could always see the dead approaching him; some looked no different from the living, but some were terrifyingly grotesque.

Master Lingqing once saw a woman in white walking towards him, and then he followed her to a residence where her body was hidden in the attic.

Later, Master Lingqing hinted to the police that a husband might have killed his wife and hidden her body in a cupboard in the attic of a certain residence.

Though the police found it absurd... they still sent someone to investigate.

The result was that they did find the body.

This incident shocked Hujiang and was adapted into a movie named ”Curse of the Haunted House.”

From then on, Master Lingqing’s life was one of a cheat. He traveled to many places, interacted with many souls of the dead, and finally found and appeased them.

In this process, he also solved many cases.

Logically, he should have been hailed as the ”Treasure of the Island Country,” but unfortunately, Master Lingqing was accustomed to wandering and did not accept various honorary titles, nor did he plan to become a ”consultant” for the high-ranking officials of the Island Country.

Master Lingqing’s fame was at its peak. He thought he would become a ”guide for the dead.”

But fate led him to Rokkasho.

One day, while nearing Rokkasho, Master Lingqing saw countless dead people.

It was an incredibly terrifying scene. These dead stood in rows, looking like tens of thousands from afar.

The most frightening part was that each of these dead ones looked like monsters, not ordinary humans, with deformities caused by prolonged radiation exposure.

The problem was, when Master Lingqing tried to get closer, they did not guide him, only silently watched him.

Then... they vanished into thin air.

Such incidents, Master Lingqing encountered once every morning.

He finally confirmed, a great calamity would befall Rokkasho.

Before the policy that would destroy everything appeared, Master Lingqing had already sensed it.

Afterward, Master Lingqing began residing in Rokkasho.

The radiation levels here were excessive, and over time, this led to abnormalities in Master Lingqing’s body.

He was always waiting, thinking that during the arrival of that huge disaster... there would certainly be some sign.

Perhaps then, he could lead people away.

But it was at this time, he met ”that person.”

”That person” seemed to be able to foresee the future. From the moment he met ”that person,” Master Lingqing’s fame began to crumble gradually.

Many times, Master Lingqing encountered humans who died due to radiation; he thought he could, like in the past, find their bodies, solve the cases...

But there were no cases on Rokkasho; almost all deaths were ”radiation-induced deaths.”

The most absurd part was, whenever Master Lingqing came here, he’d always find scenes arranged like cult settings with arrays and spells.

And there was always someone secretly photographing these setups.
