Chapter 353: Chapter 124: Challenging the 3 Highs, The Craziest Tower Climb_6

”The fifth rule says that a gun can kill them, but the original owner didn’t dare to shoot. He never tested it himself.”

”I cannot blindly trust the fifth rule. The gun should be kept, but at a crucial moment, maybe the killing soccer ball will be more useful.”

”Now, I have the power of the three phases. Although my attributes are reset, the orange tool’s power should not be worse than a gun, right?”

”However, the safest approach is to be careful enough not to let ’them’ inside.”

Wen Xishu began to analyze the third rule:

”They can distinguish truth from lies... It seems the original owner must have lied when encountering them.”

”But the lie was exposed.”

”Let me think, what could the lie be?”

Under this logic, Wen Xishu thought the safest way to survive was not to open the door.

But immediately came the fourth rule—living alone equals death.

In other words, if the visitor knows you live alone... you will die.

Wen Xishu’s expression became serious.

”It looks like the original owner of this house encountered such a situation... He didn’t want to open the door to the creature outside, so the creature asked a question—Are you living alone?”

”He couldn’t say he was living alone, or he would die. So, he lied.”

”Maybe he deceived some, but eventually ’they’ saw through it, and... he began to transform into ’them’.”

Wen Xishu simulated the scenario and realized it was a dead-end situation.

”This is probably worse than killing from the start.”

Rule four, you can’t live alone; living alone means death.

But right now, he was in the state of rule four...

”I am living alone now. In other words, if the visitor tonight is human, it will be fine; if it’s human, I can invite him in.”

”But here’s the problem... If it’s not human, I must invite it in too.”

Realizing this, Wen Xishu felt the pressure of the 42nd floor.

Living alone means death. The creatures can tell if you’re lying, so you can’t say you’re living alone...

Moreover, to mitigate the living alone equals death situation, you must open the door. Wen Xishu now understood the meanings of rules six and seven.

”Rule six, they are very greedy and have an incubation period.”

”Greedy, which means I have something they covet. They lurk to find that thing.”

”According to the following rules, the length of the incubation period is uncertain... Also, I can only kill them during the incubation period.”

”And, I must sleep for eight hours, otherwise my mental state will deteriorate. This survival environment is really harsh.”

Must sleep for eight hours, and if the monster’s incubation period is less than eight hours... then sleeping means death.

But not sleeping won’t work either; without rest, mental deterioration might lead to madness, just like an empty SAN value.

The only solution is to use the incubation period, killing them before they fully transform into monsters.

After interpreting the rules to this point, Wen Xishu realized the crucial aspects—

1: Luck.

2: Observation.

Luck outweighed observation. Survival depended heavily on the first visitor.

If it was a human... everything would be fine.

If it was ’them’, then the night would be thrilling.

Wen Xishu quietly waited for nightfall. It was currently ten in the morning.

He went to the fridge to check the food and found ample water and food supplies.

In the double-door fridge, there were various cooking packages fully stocked.

”This would last not just for one person for seven days, but even for four people for seven days.”

Wen Xishu checked the tools in the house and found a radio.

When he focused on the radio, Wen Xishu saw a dialogue box, which, unsurprisingly, was filled with garbled text...

However, the presence of a dialogue box indicated the radio was a key facility, similar to the TV with a dialogue box that couldn’t be turned on with a remote.

Apart from the gun, the only weapons in the house were the kitchen knives.

Wen Xishu first washed the knives, then hid them all. After doing this, he suddenly realized...

The visitors would only come at night; it was currently daytime, and he was alone.

According to rule 9, everyone feared the sun... so he couldn’t go out during the day either. This was confirmed by the fluctuation of the Compass needle.

At this point, sleeping was undoubtedly the best option.

Wen Xishu soon lay down on the bed, closed his eyes, and began to ponder.

”This is the forty-second floor... This level is already very high. And... interestingly, it’s another multiple of seven.”

”According to what I understood later, only certain levels have a seven-level completion. I wonder if the forty-second floor has a seven-level completion. If it does...”

”Then I must do my utmost, even if it depletes my Tower Power Value, to achieve the seven-level completion... Seven-level facilities might change the Bunker’s battle against the Great Devourer.”

”Also, this place is Rokkasho City, corresponding to a place in Japan in my previous life...”

”This country is famous for producing perverts, I wonder what kind of people I will meet this time.”

”Furthermore, the style this time clearly resembles a ghost story, which ’god’ will it attract?”

Thoughts piled up in his mind, but perhaps due to the bed’s special effect...

Wen Xishu quickly felt drowsy, and his eyes grew heavy.

Soon, Wen Xishu entered a dream.

In the dream, he returned to the original world, becoming a streamer challenging various extreme sports as before.

But before he experienced much of those extreme sports, still skydiving in his dream...

Suddenly, he heard three dull knocks, ”dong,” ”dong,” ”dong.”

It was as if the blue sky was being shattered. Still skydiving in his dream, Wen Xishu... instantly landed.

He awoke completely.

He abruptly opened his eyes.

”Dong.”

Time, 7:01.

PM.

This was the standard ”beginning of nightfall.”

Wen Xishu listened to the sounds outside the door, instantly becoming alert.

”Damn it, seven is considered nightfall. At 7:01 there’s already someone knocking on the door... This is just the first day of the seven-day Deceit Tower journey.”

”It seems the night here is livelier than I expected.”
