Three Towers Game

Chapter 384: Chapter 130: The Desire Tower, More Twisted Than the Deceit Tower

[With the initiation of that all-destroying policy, Rokkasho, as the trial city, had been gloriously propagandized. This country tried to make other countries understand that only by doing this...could magic defeat magic.

Everything in Rokkasho started to mutate. There were too many misfortunes hidden here. Find the person you believe is worth redeeming and make them happy.]

This was Wen Xishu’s task from the Desire Tower.

The task itself was not particularly interpretable, but it was immensely challenging...

”There are too many misfortunes hidden here... Find the person I believe is worth redeeming.”

If a place harbors too many unfortunate people, then countless individuals would be worth redeeming.

Based on Wen Xishu’s past experiences, achieving a high-score ending necessitates the ability to change the fate of key characters.

At this moment, Wen Xishu was in a room, specifically a hospital ward.

Due to minimalist reasons, Wen Xishu’s Luck Value had already been reset to zero. What’s more, this was the forty-second floor, and the basic Luck Value required to approach key targets was very high...

The basic Luck Value required to acquire a good identity and beginning was also very high.

If it weren’t for the invitation, Wen Xishu might have ended up in some remote corner far from the key target.

Wen Xishu’s starting point this time was far from ideal.

When he opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was the hospital ceiling, with an old-fashioned ceiling fan hanging above. There were other people in the ward, but they were separated by curtains.

Wen Xishu checked himself and found no useful information in his memory.

”This is a damnable entry point, with not a single useful memory.”

Wen Xishu didn’t even know how he ended up in the hospital. He checked his body and found it intact.

”Why am I in the hospital? I’m not even sick.”

”No... you are sick,” said a slightly hoarse voice from the patient next to him.

Separated by the curtain, Wen Xishu couldn’t see this person, but he had already started pulling out various tubes from his body.

”You and I are the same... heh, we are all abandoned by this era. That’s our illness, our misfortune, because we can’t integrate into this era.”

Indeed, this was a phrase particularly favored by the people of the Island Country. We are all people abandoned by xxx, the new era has no place for us.

Wen Xishu couldn’t be bothered to respond and was about to get up and leave.

But then the patient next to him said something that made Wen Xishu freeze:

”I want to grow a third arm. I hope this surgery goes well, to make me... successfully grow a third arm. As long as I have something special, I can integrate into this island.”

”I want to evolve! I want to evolve! When will it be my turn for surgery!”

The patient next to him became agitated.

Suddenly, Wen Xishu remembered a doctor who performed horrifying surgeries. He felt a sudden urge to inquire:

”Do you mean, we aren’t sick? You’re having surgery to make yourself... special?”

The patient said oddly,

”Isn’t that why you’re lying here as well?”

Wen Xishu didn’t reply; he didn’t know how to respond.

After a moment, the patient began talking to himself:

”There’s a goddess from Hujiang... They say over there, there are five holes... If I could, I really hope I could evolve four extra little friends.”

”Then I would be her most compatible partner, right?”

”I heard she’s going around doing that thing with people, spreading special evolutionary germs from Hujiang to us here in Rokkasho.”

Wen Xishu suddenly thought of Takahashi Mariko.

This beginning... Why does it feel as disturbingly strange as the Deceit Tower?

Mariko is from Hujiang, Mariko likes doing that thing with people... Mariko spreads all sorts of viruses, she’s like a biological mother.

Thinking this way, it indeed perfectly matches Mariko’s style.

But how, in the Desire Tower, has Mariko’s reputation actually improved?

”The woman you’re talking about... Is her name Takahashi Mariko?” Wen Xishu asked.

The patient next to him got a bit angry:

”Maybe, I’m not sure, but is it really okay to call a goddess by her name so directly?”

”To be with her once... either you die, or you evolve. But that experience, even if it meant dying, I’d be willing. Way better than... way better than this surgery.”

Wen Xishu said:

”Then the doctor performing the surgery on us... What’s their deal?”

The patient shot back angrily:

”Are you amnesiac? How can you understand nothing? The doctor is of course a miracle doctor, who gives ordinary people the chance to evolve.”

”Only this way can we integrate into the new era.”

Wen Xishu said:

”An era of universal mutation?”

The patient spat:

”What mutation? It’s evolution, evolution! Any disease could bring us new evolutionary possibilities! Do you understand?”

Wen Xishu felt like ever since he got the invitation, he had entered a hallucination.

He never actually left the Deceit Tower—he was still inside.

Otherwise, he couldn’t convince himself... that the world of the Desire Tower, in some past country, would see such things being done by the state.

When the populace highly endorses certain inhumane acts... It could be because the higher governing authorities endorse it, then stimulate it through policy.

Considering the task description, Wen Xishu felt...

The Island Country of the Three-Tower World had made a very terrifying decision.

As Wen Xishu pondered this, footsteps were heard outside the sickbed, the footsteps of nurses.

”Number 27, Fukuhara Issei, you are about to undergo surgery. Are you prepared?”
